It is likely to be from Eutechnyx... again. When will they stop?

Eutechnyx?! I wish they had stopped years ago. What the hell is stopping Slightly Mad(NFS:Shift) from telling EA to sod off and start making quality console racing games? Their PC stuff was brilliant.

Would be nice. GTR2 is the last game that did the FIA series good & I haven't seen a game pay any tribute to Le-Mans style racing since 24H Le Mans.

24H Le Mans, incidentally, was originally a eutechnyx game. To this date, 10 years later, no game grabbed the "endurance" experience like that one did.

Don't feel bad, Golfman. Ferrari Challenge was a game that polarized many people, with some truly taking to it's advanced but challenging physics model and others who found it odd, unruly or simply too difficult to master and quickly grew frustrated. Nearly everybody who played it and liked it from the beginning truly loved it. And those who didn't like it from the get go, quickly sold or returned it. Few people took the middle ground.

THANK YOU! At last, someone who sees my side of the argument!

Exactly! If they could just regain their former brilliance and make a game like that again, the PS1 and PS2 Le Mans 24 hours games were both brilliant and I have yet to find another game that I enjoy more than the PS1 game. It was a brilliant game and also had one of the best intros ever. It's a shame I've never really taken to their recent games as much and just wish they would make another game as good as this one was as I even completed the full 24 hours in the PS2 game I enjoyed it that much as well as the full 10 hours of Petit Le Mans.

for those who haven't seen this before

"Destruction Derby RAW" for the win! One of my favourite games from the PS 1, would be great to see that come back, some great tracks, and great fun!

Haha that'd be awesome... A Destruction Derby game done in a simulation style with realistic crashes rather than insane over the top ones and realistic rules and damage could actually be really, really awesome to play. Especially with a cockpit view with deformation and dirt flying and all that. And a dynamic crowd watching and reacting... plus career mode... I want it!!! Probably a pipe dream though :guilty:.

Supercar Challenge was very good! The graphics were really worst but the physics are fantastic...

But I don´t thin that eutechnyx can make a game that can challenge with the gt series... They don´t have the money that pd has...

Ahh...well...:D

What I meant to say was many people didn't like Ferrari Challenge and came away with a poor initial impression for several reasons. Until the initial patch, the game had a large on center dead zone that made even driving straight rather frustrating. It suffered from some frame rate drops. (Both of these were partially corrected in subsequent patches). The game forces you to start with the F430 challenge which was one of the least enjoyable cars to drive (in my opinion). But the main reason the game put people off was because the physics and gameplay were enormously challenging, even when running with assists because the game puts an extreme emphasis on balance and weight transfer--more than any other racing sim I've played on the PS3. And when faced with these conditions, even some experienced sim racers were a bit put off.

So I can understand that you, and many people, didn't care for the game initially. But I disagree with your assessment about Eutechnyx. Currently, when looking at the 'entire' package, Supercar Challenge is the best sim racer you can buy on the PS3. I fully expect that to change when GT5 is released but Eutechnyx knows what they're doing and the physics in FC & SCC are miles ahead of anything else save Prologue.

Even Prologue don't come near SCC's feedback and weight transfer.

I love SCC. But I also hate it for being so difficult to tame. I truly get mad with frustration when I try to push it to keep the fastest pace and, inevitably, lose it!

It's a great game. The problem is that I suck.:grumpy:

Yes I agree. The FFB in FC/SCC is brilliant and arguably better than Prologue, even with the annoying deadzone. But I think there's a level of sophistication in Prologue's physics and suspension movements that Eutechnyx can't quite match, although it comes very close. But Eutechnyx latest two games, combined with a good FFB wheel is a very visceral and organic experience that's 2nd to none and it allows you to truly feel when the tires are losing and gaining grip in an extraordinary way. The very realistic and heavy FFB can leave you coated with a thin layer of perspiration after an intense 20 lap race.

I would even dare to say a workout! :p A few intense laps in FC or SCC and my arms start to hurt... maybe because I have the FFB on heavy... But thats how I like it best!

Just to weigh in -

TDU was a decent game, I liked it as long as it was online. Since the server as been down I haven't played it lately.

It will be hard to challenge GT honestly because getting all the cars is what will be challenging. The PC market suffers because to buy the rights to put cars in the game increases production cost. To keep cost down, racing cars actually is the cheapest route to go since Teams own the IP and its much cheaper to buy that than go to an OEM.

Polyphony Digital has clout for lack of a better word in the Automotive Industry.

Nobody else but maybe Turn 10 has that kind of clout that makes OEM's stand up and say "include us".

Forza 3 and MS/Xbox are following a similar pattern that Sega followed in the 80's and 90's. Trying to beat the competition to market with whatever your idea is, only to get pummeled by the competition (GT) because instead of a Revolutionary New Gaming Engine, you just polish up the previous one, call it good enough, up convert to 1080p and call it done.

GT5 will not disappoint, its taken way too long and too many good elements that was built from previous games for it to fail, GT games always work the hardware the hardest and it will not fail you.

The only game IMHO that could even start to challenge GT is a TOCA game with GRID visual. Don't say Codemasters won't do it, I believe that's what they are working on...

OPM is out on April 13th here in the UK. Any US or OW guys going to be able to get an earlier copy? By the way euryteckyutees latest press release says next game reveal will be may. If it is a game by these guys, expect OPM to have just one paragraph officially naming the franchise but having absolutely no informatiom till the month after. Teasing b#*@!^ds

Hmmmm, *runs off to the magazine stand*

Nine days?! That's far too long to wait! I kid I kid.:sly: You know, I'd laugh if we went from knowing nothing to everything including features, cars and tracks in this game in a day, unlike GT5 where we've been waiting for years.

A game to threat GT5 would have to be FM3, GT5 style.. I would still say Enthusia 2. New GTR game or Simbin game would have to have both street and racecars to even come colose in sales as FM3 and GT5.

Well I missed this thread, however, they didn't say Playstation sequel so I assume Enthusia Professional Racing ? That game I used to play when I get bored from GT4 .. I mean it was the only game that offers a wide range of cars (SUVs :D)

Oh wait Eutechnyx said they have a new racing game too .. maybe Super Car Challenge with a brand new engine ?

Well, I hated Ferrari Challenge. It was just so...shabby. Realistic weight control = completely uncontrollable. And then i read a review of SCC saying that it's much worse. At least the GT series is matches it's realism with fun. Show me another racing series that does that?

Supercar Challenge. Obviously. :) It's challenging, arguably quite realistic and certainly NOT uncontrollable. It does however take a little time and patience to adjust to it's play system. I don't think anybody can play FC for the first time and put in a competitive lap in the first hour. Although certain cars are much easier than others. Once you get the hang of it, putting in that 'perfect' lap is quite rewarding. But as I said, if you didn't like Ferrari Challenge, SCC will be more of the same.

Supercar Challenge? They might sell decent, but below 1 million mark. These days all people hear in racing Simulators for Consoles is Gran Turismo and Forza. I doubt Supercar Challange will give any competition to GT5 and FM because people want to drive normal street cars as well. Not to mention buy, tune, race.

Way below a million, I'm sure. But a lot of that is probably due to poor marketing. At any rate, Supercar Challenge was slightly OT and in response to Golfman's comments and stems from "The Game" in question being a new title from Eutechnyx. (FWIW, I don't believe the Top Secret Game is a new Eutechnyx title)
