Dan, i was aware believe it or not, of the Santa Matilde and the SP2, i once thought the Santa Matilde was quite interesting and i really like the styling of the SP2, i think it's actually better looking than the Karmann Ghia.

I'm intruged by that Brasinca 4200 GT, is it based on Jaguar mechanics?

How has this perfectly interesting and reasonable thread become a wishlist?

The whole appointing Ed Martin to an Executive position at Eutechnyx really makes me think we could be looking at a new NASCAR title here. Every time Ed has switched from his previous company he has gone to a new NASCAR-title producing company (Papyrus--->Hasbro---->EA---->Eutechnyx= NR2003----->NASCAR Heat---->EA NASCAR---->Eutechnyx NASCAR?). It all sort of adds up, as a new NASCAR-specific title is expected around the end of this year some time.

I don't want another eutechnyx game, TDU is an awesome driving game, bring on TDU 2!(or Grid 2).

It all started with someone argumenting on why Australia's car culture wasn't covered well enough in GT, now it's turned in some sort of alternative car culture defined by nations, not a wishlist. ;)

It's supposedly is a sequel though, plus a NASCAR title(or any series specific title) will never be able to compete with GT5 since there isn't as much content. Plus I don't think a UK company would make a very good product since NASCAR is a US form of racing.

All they'd have to do is put the amount of effort PD put into graphics into their physics (assuming it's a sim, if it's not, it automatically loses) and I'll willingly defect.

Interesting? Nothing interesting to be seen here. Sure, a game will be released that will "threaten" GT5. But there you have it, an entire thread summarized in 9 words.
Reasonable? Nothing to do with GT5, information wise. Thus it's not reasonable that this thread exists.

Eutechnyx wanted attention and they need racing fans to buy their next game, so they used the words "secret racing game" and refered to it as being better than GT5 and boom, GTPlanet is aware of a new game made by Eutechnyx.

Noone would talk about it, if it wasn't for Eutechnyx trying to hype their new game. In the end it might just end up being a new game in the "Challenge" series, with the same physics engine, the same visuals and the same sounds.

I loved Ferrari Challenge and Iam currently playing Supercar Challenge, which is good aswell, but I would never compare it to the GT series. You can see and feel the low production value, its a good game, but no AAA title.

Oops, I believe I caused this...:O

Actually it used a truck engine manufactured by chevrolet. It was made between '64 and '66, and used glassfiber in the whole body. Big engine + small and light car, sounds familiar? ;)

Despite of the good rear look and long bonnet, the SP2 used an air cooled VW boxer engine, resulting in very poor performance. So it's just a beautiful beetle. Oh yeah, it's cheap but hard to find, I've saw half-dozen IRL, only one in good conditions. 👎

Yeah, I agree with the guys complaining, I didn't find this thread interesting at all, that's why I didn't post anything here before, but we helped to go too much off topic indeed, there isn't any section on the forums to discuss everything related to automobiles? I would love to learn more about other countries and their automotive culture, wikipedia is always biased.

Sounds familiar indeed, the Brazilian Corvette or TVR, about the SP2 being nothing more than a beautiful beetle, well, so was the Karmann Ghia and perhaps the very early Porsches. ;)

OPM are a bunch of Arcade racing fanboys.
I'm pretty sure they are referring to a new Burnout
Right, so what's wrong with liking arcade racers as opposed to "sim" racers? I happen to enjoy the qualities of both, and would never single anybody out as a fanboy just because they prefer one thing over another like only my opinion counts...

bah! probably some silly racer with AWESOME graphics and no gameplay, lousy physics....yeah, I'm looking at you NFS.

Why are so many sim fans incapable of liking arcade games?

Sims are srs bns, it seems. (seriously, just go get a real car if you like them that much.)

Yes, NFS may have started to suck, but burnout is one of the best racing series of all time.

PD only cares about the money, as any other company.
If that was true, they would chuck Gran Turismo games out the door as often and with the same quality as Forza. ;)

And keep in mind before anyone comes back with an "Oh yeah?" that GT HD, Prologue, GT PSP and the TT demo were produced because fans were getting so grumpy that they were rioting, and so bad that they drove amar212 from the board, and sent death threats to Jordan. GT fans are passionate and demanding, but some of us are complete tards.

I'd welcome a new game from Eutechnyx, but my issues with them is their driver views blow. Ferrari Challenge is the only game I can recall that I keep smacking into a wall at their Monza because the driver cam gives me a crappy feel for how turns should be taken. Everything else is pretty darn nice, though the damage model is even weaker than Forza's. Oh, and the bots, worse than GT's by far, also very Forza-like.

I hope it's not a NASCAR game, because I wouldn't even give it a sniff. Why bother, with GT5 so close? And I'm hoping it's not a superpowered GT1 series, because I really don't care for screaming around tracks constantly at F1 speeds. I need the variety that Gran Turismo delivers. I also hope though that it's not another Forza, because one Gran Turismo wannabe is enough. They do have some talented people though, so maybe this game will be The One.

A Sega GT would also be good. I'd buy that without half a thought.

I don't like arcade racers although i agree GT isn't probably a full sim either although its much closer than say Burnout or NFS.
I however don't like the term fanboy in general, what's wrong with being a fan in the first place?
Doesn't necessarily mean you can't be critical although you may be somewhat biased.
I'll wear it proudly as a badge of honour, love GT and always have, but i'm nowhere near immume to delivering criticism, although they seem to be recieving it. ;)

And for being incapable of liking arcade racers, i just don't like them, it's just personal preference.
Getting a real car is a pointless argument, if you like flight sims instead of arcade flight games you don't necessarily have the ability to fly a real plane.
Neither is having all those real exotic cars at your disposal a real option for most people.

Nothing wrong with being a fan of something... but once a person dismisses anything else except the game/thing he/she stands behind then he/she starts to wander into fanboy territory :)

-edit: curious as to what this game might be... :D

I'm not against liking Arcade racers, I'm against the idiocy of saying an Arcade racer is going to compete against a Sim racer which is what I think OPM is doing

Fixed for truth.

SegaGT, Burnout or Need For Speed would all be plenty awesome... Wouldn't stop me wanting Gran Turismo 5 any less soon, mind.

Sure, Need For Speed has generally been pretty poor lately, but i loved Underground and Underground 2 - i mean, i still play Underground 2 every so often on the PC even after all this time.

Fixed for truth.
I stand corrected. Sadly...

I'm hoping that whatever the game is, comes from Eutechnyx, 10Tacle Studios/SIMBIN, or Sega. I really think a Sega GT done right would be a heck of a stand-in for GT5. Then again, so would ModNation Racers.

Enthusia 2 could be good, but I'd have to see it. I just didn't share the "enthusia" that the fans did, and the game did fizzle pretty good, so most gamers didn't care for it either. Konami will have to drop the weird upgrade system and racing through theme parks, except one or two tracks.

Race driver (a.k.a V8 supercars, toca etc.) 4 would be awesome, was shattered they ditched it for grid, which was good but just didn't have the scope

Another racing game would be good. Gives me a another racing game to play while I'm waiting for GT5

Theres a new car game called ''BLUR'' coming out soon, but the name of the game just says it all to me lol
I dont think no game console car game can get close to GT at this moment in time. And thats probably a fact.
