Still? I just got the game today as a Christmas gift. I had asked for GT4 for Christmas, back when it was supposed to be out in time, but oh well, so I asked for GT and GT2 instead, and got both. They are pretty awesome, it is really getting me excited for the remade GT/GT2 courses supposedly included in GT4. Oh, if you are wondering why I just got these games, I was a pretty loyal nintendo guy, until the gay-ass box dealie came out, so I switched my alliance to sony.

I still play GT1 every once in a while. I still remember when I first played GT 1 on my demo disk when I was 13. I drove the Corvette & NSX for almost a year before finally getting GT 1 for Christmas in 1999. I'm getting way too nostalgic.

I remember the very first time I got my PS1 with its demo disc and GT1 was one of the demos, and I played it forever. Then mum goes "we have to get some games, what would you like?" about two days later, and that very day we went and got GT1.

I still play it today. It's a fantastic stress reliever. Just put it on, play it for a while and all the memories will come flooding back.

And before you ask - no, that is not me in my avatar.

I went my entire recent ten-day holiday without playing a single video game. Perhaps I am cured. I did fire the PS2 up a couple of times, but just so I could use it as a DVD player so I could frame-grab some shots.

Anyway, I too remember buying GT1 based entirely on that demo. Wow, based on old Commodore 64 games, I would have been satisfied if all I got was complete Arcade Mode, but wow. What depth. What an addiction.

Twenty memory cards?!

That's devotion.

I once took one of those 24x memory cards InterAct used to sell, and saved a simple game at day 20, 30, 40 ... every 10 days until 250. That was before I discovered the in-memory and on-disk table of used cars, and codes to change the game day, etc.

Oh. I guess that's a comment. :D

Another comment.

If one is going to have twenty cards, perhaps one should keep at least one extra copy of one's favourite save. (I tend to use my cards in pairs and keep a duplicate copy of any active game). And then there's Dex Drive, Sharkport, etc. Not to mention those 24x cards. Though Sony seems to discourage all such products. :(

HaHa greats pics of your hybrids 👍 Those were the days dont remember the last time I played GT1 (that long?) should play it just to appriciate GT3 and soon GT4 more :)

Hehe played GT1 today, despite its age it did so many things right. If only the graphics were better argh! (Still atleast there better than GT2s) GT1 still has a certain magic over the sequels I feel :)

I wonder if I'm the only one here who bought GT1 before actually buying a Playstation (which I saved up for ages just to play GT1). :D

If you have a decent computer with a good quality video card, just install the EPSXE emulator on it.
GT1 ( and 2 ) run with EPSXE wiil give you graphics at least twice as good as with GT1 on the PS1 through your TV.

Try it, you'll like it.

I already knew about that but thanks for reminding me :) Now I've got a RGB Scart cable the 'jaggies' look really bad. Before I prefered it on the TV since it helped hide some of the graphical pitfalls.

I still play GT, I am close to having raced every winnable car in every race in GT that they can legally enter. And yes that does include racing the Demio at GVS!!

Im playing my GT1 right now, i do love it so...

I have GT2 sitting in a box next to me, but i want to get 100% again on GT1, don't ask why!

But GT1 doesn't define 100%. I.e. it doesn't count any percentage for you in any game screen.

Myself I assume getting all gold race event cups is 100%. I.e. I don't count the spot races (since they show no cup), and don't require non-bronze licenses. That way you can complete it in 100 simulation days.

I'm racing every winnable car and a few extra that I bought in every cup that they can legally enter. Thats what I call 100%.

I am about to complete the game fully. Pictures soon.

If not I reset.

I also will only use prize cars. Nothing else. So far I have the

Well, you also need a starter car.

And you can't guarantee to win a 4WD prize car to enter the 4WD Cup.

Which suggests you should start with the Mitsubishi GTO'92 (non-turbo).

Oh wait. You can guarantee to win a Nismo 400R can't you? :D
And if you start by getting all gold on your licenses that means you don't need to buy a starter car, either.

"Never mind . . ."

In the other games you don't need gold licenses for 100%, however. :D

Indeed :) <3 400R. See you don't buy weight reduction mods for the 400R or any of the permanent mods you can't remove for the normal series down the track. You gotta be careful but other than that it's a breeze now :)

I wouldn't call the normal series a breeze with any car, but it is winnable with the 400R. That's why it's such a class car. Is it a further development of the Skyline, or a derivative?

The PAL version is significantly harder?

It's definitely a breeze with either Viper in the North American version. And I would say the 400R, too. TVR's are a walk-over too, after you learn to keep them on the road.

Thats the trick to both TVR's and Vipers I've found, especially on the first race.
