Last week’s NASCAR expansion for Forza Motorsport 6 brought the biggest automotive series in America to the game. Those that purchased the add-on received a host of car’s from this season as well as a new track. In addition, numerous new gameplay features including rolling starts and new car spotting HUD elements were rolled out across the game’s community, even for those that hadn’t bought the pack.

Sometimes, features don’t mesh with the existing game as well as the developers may have hoped. We’ve seen it happen in other titles, and now it’s Turn 10’s time to fix up some of the problems that have developed with the latest expansion.

This is actually the second patch since the NASCAR goodies landed: a 97mb patch released last Friday, addressing two issues:

  • Ghosts not appearing in Rivals races, and replays not loading
  • Rumble functionality. We have addressed an issue that was causing rumble to be diminished on both the Xbox controller and with wheels. After the update, rumble functionality should return to normal on both controllers and wheels.

Today’s update is a similar size. According to T10’s Community Manager Brian Ekberg, the update focuses on the following:

  • Rolling starts have been moved back by 15 meters on the following courses: Rio Full, Rio National, Rio Coast Loop, Indy GP Classic, Indy GP, Yas Marina South, and all Watkins Glen ribbons.
  • For lapped traffic, “Distance behind” in HUD now measures distance by meters or feet, not laps
  • Fixed an issue with Drivatars losing collision after a rewind when the Drivatars are in a pitting state, but outside of pit lane
  • Fixed an issue where certain players were unable to continue in career without upgrades

T10’s quick response should no doubt go over well with players that were frustrated by the issues since last Tuesday. Swing by our Forza 6 forums for more in-depth discussion.
