As you may recall, this year will see four different GT Academy champions crowned from around the world. In addition to the European and U.S. regions, Germany and Russia are hosting their own, independent competitions. Germany’s was the first to conclude yesterday at their own Silverstone Race Camp.

German motorsport superstars Nick Heidfeld and Sabine Schmitz were joined by hip-hop artist “Smudo” to judge the 12 finalists, who faced a battery of physical, mental, and driving challenges Race Camp has become well known for.

Over the past week, the judges determined the final four contestants, who then faced off against each other in a winner-take-all race to determine the new champion.

Unlike previous European and U.S. competitions, however, the identity of this year’s winner is being kept secret. German television network RTL will announce the results in a special program on November 3, 2012, before qualifying of the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix. The winner’s name will also be revealed here on GTPlanet for the international audience shortly after the program is broadcast.

I feel like they should have to use it in GT Academy. The whole point is to find a race car driver, shouldn’t they have to see what you see when your racing? Your eyeballs arent taped on the front bumper, they are in the drivers head in the drivers seat.

While I’m usually one to agree with this, I have to admit that gt’s cockpit view is rather unrealistic.

Well there at gt academy and your not.. So mabe it’s not a fail.. Also, you race in cockpit view whilst in a pod with a wheel you see 2 wheels and 2 pairs of hands..
