We’ve already seen the Gran Turismo PSP intro video, but it wasn’t the best quality. Thankfully, Polyphony Digital have released the clip in HD, and needless to say, it’s much more exciting to watch! For an even better experience, grab the original right here (.mov format, 131 MB).

    dDid you see the Gumpert Apollo in 0:38? It went by really quickly though. ****** Porsche for not being in Gran Turismo. Other than than thank you all the other companies who allowed their cars in Gran Tursimo.

    Is it the Ferrari F1 2008 at 0.52sec ?
    To be honest, I absolutely can’t say. The rims are the same as the F2008 but the design is more a F2007… I think it’s a F2007, but I like your thought =D

    Awesome Intro, but then again there has never been at gt intro that hasn’t got the blood flowing for me, but the drum and bass really did it for me, ooohh maannnnnn….

    I can’t wait for GTpsp to drop next week. This week can change everything for psp GT if the announcements are good and we have a date for this year. The GT5 hype and connectivity will increase sells. I am a true fan of the game and driving/racing so GTpsp is a must. For those that are sad the career mode is missing must not be getting GT5. I hope for more info on connectivity and Ad Hoc parrty or a built in ad hoc party for GT5 for tradeing psp rides. After this week many of those complainers will be right there with us getting their GTpsp next week. Watch how well GT sells on psp and how many will praise it for being GT in your hands.

    yes, I too can’t wait for gt5, and I must say, I got nfs shift the other day, love the slow down to (it must be like) 12 fps. quality stuff

    @Nvswog..most people have their hopes up too high and getting teased with bits of info and pics with a video here or there..driving them crazy lol..this reminds me of NFS High Stakes intro how the intro grfx were so high quality(during those times) but when the game started seeing big pixel cars.ahh good ol ps one lol..but GT always used game quality for their intro so idk about this one

    Looks OK, evidently trying to mislead individuals by showing flashy graphics that are a fraction of the actual game. Nothing new here.

    yep just download from GT- TV look great it has more colour in it and it looks better on a 1080p fullHD LCD 101cm Bravia sony to bad it wound look as good on psp

    Still think the music is a bit out of place for a racing game, it’s quite driving me nuts already after seeing it for like 4 times while the cinematic itself is great… But that’s probably personal taste, go Polyphony Digital!

Gran Turismo PSP: 1.8 Million Copies in Three Months

Polyphony Digital has updated their sales figures for the Gran Turismo franchise, and the company’s latest title, GT PSP is now on the list. In the three months since its release on October 1st, 2009, it has sold more than 1.8 million copies around the world, making it the sixth-best selling title on Sony’s portable console.

“Ultimate Gran Turismo Fans” Win Awesome Gear

Remember the “Ultimate Gran Turismo Fan” contest Sony held back in November? They set out out to find the most dedicated fans of the series, and this past Friday, the winners were finally announced. First place went to Michael Blevins of Colorado, who started dirt track racing after years of playing GT, and second went to Samuel Sligh III, a passionate Ferrari fan from North Carolina. For their dedication to the series, they’ve been awarded the two very sweet racing suits and helmets worn by Rhys Millen and Tanner Foust in the GT PSP commercial filmed at Laguna Seca.

If you missed out on the free Gran Turismo PSP promotion when the PSP Go was released earlier this year, you’ve got another shot. Sony is once again making the game available to download at no cost to all PSP Go owners…as long as you’re not in North America. Much like GT Academy 2010, this promotion is only available to people outside of the United States and Canada. You can read the official rules here and, if you’re eligible, follow these instructions to get your copy of the game. It will be free through January 10, 2010, so don’t worry if you plan to receive a PSP Go on December 25th – just make sure that you tell Santa Claus about this so he can buy you something else with all that money he’ll be saving! Are You the “Ultimate” Gran Turismo Fan?

Sony is out to find the “ultimate” Gran Turismo fan with their latest contest, and two winners will be walking away with the driving suit, helmet, and gloves worn by Rhys Millen and Tanner Foust in the GT PSP Laguna Seca television commercial. All you’ve got to do is submit a 2 minute video, a 2 page essay, or slide show presentation explaining why you are the “ultimate fan”. Entries will be judged by a panel of “video game industry professionals”, who will score each submission based on the following criteria: 60% for showing that you’re the ultimate fan, 20% for showing that you’re the ultimate car/racing fan, and another 20% for showing off a little bit of creativity.
