As you may have heard by now, Gran Turismo Sport will be fully unveiled at a massive media event taking place in London on Thursday, May 19th. The second day of the event, on May 20th, will be open to limited members of the public – and the GTPlanet community!

I am very excited to announce PlayStation and Polyphony Digital have made 50 pairs of complimentary tickets available to UK-based GTPlanet members for the hands-on event, taking place at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

    B-Spec Bob’s Best kept secret for years…..soon we will become him…lol….better choose a suit…..rock on next Friday…

  2. Tenacious D

Jordan, you are such a “The Rock”! ;D

And a nice, cool, lucky guy. You’ve done so much for Gran Turismo and us fans, giving us a home here on the net to hang out in – even if it’s become a sort of Animal House over the past few years. You kept the place in order through bounty and drought, and deserve a lifetime achievement award from SONY for all your work and support for them.

I feel excited just thinking of what you are going to be experiencing next week. Lucky, lucky dawg. Be sure and document as much as you can not just with the live feed, but as many video peeks and interviews as you can manage, you and the guys. And have a total blast for everything you’ve accomplished. You deserve it. Congratulations to you and the GT Planet “family.”

That’s very kind of you to say, TenD. Thanks!

I am so excited about what’s to come I have barely been able to sleep. I have learned a lot from covering so many other GT events in the past, and I hope to use that experience to provide better coverage than ever. I hope you enjoy it.

HI Jordan, I will be attending the Friday event and It would be really nice if I can meet you during the event, you have done so much for the GT and Sim racing Community and Id like to offer my help if you need it during the Friday.

    1. Tenacious D

Err… they have been working on GT Sport and didn’t want to stir up the usual poopstorm of disappointment if something crucial fell through?

Heck, ask them what this means for the development of GT7, how soon news of the proper GT title will be revealed. What GT Sport will do to further the development of GT7. What new technology will be included in GT7 (Photo Mode and Movie Maker, Race Mod, Livery Editor, Course Maker III, Event Maker, internet connections such as YouTube, GT Planet, etc)

“Take a thrilling ride in a range of real sport cars.”

Interestingly, this is included above but not included in the Eventbrite page. Not only are we going to see great Vision cars and have the chance to drive cars virtually on GT Sport, but apparently we will also get to ride in real cars too. The way this is worded, we won’t be driving (not surprised) but it still sounds good.

    Can’t wait for next Friday!

Gutted gutted gutted. No tickets left. Wish I’d checked Gtplanet and seen this this morning.

Can I be at the top of any ticket returns list please.

  5. Cool34

Yea this is going to be great..this puts asseto corsa and iracing in the trash can..can’t wait..on gt6 now

    1. Tenacious D

I assume you mean for you personally. Those are both fairly popular games! ;D

But I very much expect GT Sport to post sales figures which any other developer would die to have for their games. Even GT6 which a number of doomsayers here had declared dead, sold around 5 million copies.

    1. Tenacious D

Congrats! Be sure and give an EXTENSIVE report of your impressions of this event, so those of us who can’t be there can live it vicariously through you.

    2. Anwar

HI Tenacious D, I may have a Free Ticket and a mate has cancelled, are you in London?

  15. johnnyman123

Guys, come May 19 we may (or may not) witness a milestone in racing game history…I think this will blow away ANYTHING we’ve ever seen in the racing genre. I am expecting everything from PD.

    1. Tenacious D

You may be right! I’m expecting at the very least, a solid and welcome step forward for Gran Turismo.

    1. TRLWNC7396

I must say I agree! Well, maybe not living there, but I wish the Concorde was still in service… And that I could afford it…. ;)
