GT Sport Daily Races: Cross Country

The final set of Gran Turismo Sport Daily Races for June 2021 are upon us, and this week’s trio of events will center on southern Europe. Each of the three races will take place at one of the game’s circuits down near the Mediterranean Sea.

Race A will put players into one of the most-requested cars in Gran Turismo history: the E30-generation BMW M3. This classic Q-car will be your ride for a four-lap race of the short West layout of the fictional Lago Maggiore circuit.

There’s a famous real-world track in for Race B, as you’ll move to the Monza circuit, Italy’s “Temple of Speed”. It’s a race for the GT3-style Gr.3 machines, so you’ll only have to pick which car you want for the four-lap race. The giant straights mean that cars with higher top speeds will be favorite, but you’ll also have to watch out for the huge braking efforts.

This week’s endurance-style event will give players a rare chance to race on the Circuit de Sainte-Croix circuit. A fictional venue set in southern France, Sainte-Croix has a number of layouts — all quite lengthy — and doesn’t often make Sport Mode appearances. The race takes place on the C layout, the longest of them all.

For this race there’s an extra challenge in store, by way of the Gr.1 cars. This category holds all of the fastest racing prototypes, from the Group C era of the late 1980s, through to modern hybrid LMP1-H cars, and even some visions of the future from the VGT stable.

Drivers will also need to be mindful of tire regulations in this race. Both Racing Medium and Racing Soft tires are available and required, so you’ll need to complete at least one lap with each type of tire. There’s a one-minute post-race penalty waiting for anyone who doesn’t.
