Gamescom 2015: Meet your Need For Speed Icons

Need For Speed is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a new game, shorn of any sub-titles. At Gamescom, it’s announced the inclusion of five real-life auto enthusiasts, each with a different approach to car culture. These Icons, as they’re known, represent the five different approaches players can take at any point in the game.

Gamescom 2015: FM6 Confirms Online Leagues, Circuit of the Americas, New Cars

Gamescom officially opens tomorrow, but Microsoft had a briefing today in preparation, touching on a large swath of its upcoming 2015/2016 lineup. Being just over a month away from release, Forza Motorsport 6 naturally has a display on site, with a community-designed livery wrapped around Ford’s new Focus RS complete with its own Stig standing guard.

GTPlanet’s SRT Tomahawk X Challenge Results: Congrats to Our Winners!

When we announced GTPlanet’s SRT Tomahawk X Challenge just over a month ago, it made one of GT6’s toughest Seasonal Events even more competitive, as hundreds of GTPlanet users sent in their lap times to win exclusive posters signed by the SRT design team – the same people who conceived one of the craziest Vision GT cars yet.

GTPlanet Community Spotlight: Move Aside, Let the Games Go Through

The Hungarian Grand Prix. Wow. It’s not out of the ordinary or without fair reasoning to hear or even read about Formula One fans pining for race weekends to take place under the advent of rain showers, it just makes for a more spectacular showing of the sport itself. The Hungarian Grand Prix was bone-dry and yet it stands as the best race of the entire season thus far and I would stake anything that it’s unlikely to be topped. If you haven’t seen it and you’re an F1 fan I would highly suggest that you do so.

GTPlanet Community Spotlight: The Return of Eiger’s Mysterious Block

If it hasn’t been made apparent already, this is, unequivocally, the year of the racing game. With so many options spanning across just about every platform available there’s something for everyone, and just enough of them release in such close proximity that you’ll be driven mad just trying to decide what you want to play! Another problem arises from games already on the market that are continually updated; there’s just too much going on in the racing game scene this year – what a fantastic problem to have.

A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring American sports cars made before 1980, European sports cars, mid-engined rear wheel drive race cars, and the Renault Sport Megane Trophy. Forza Motorsport 6 Garage: Blue Oval Week

Another week, another batch of cars announced for Forza Motorsport 6 en route to its September 15th release. This time, Turn 10 has focused on one of the standout marques in automotive history, with at least one car from each decade between 1940 and today. Before we get into those, though, let’s take a moment to focus on the new track reveal. Lime Rock is a new track to the series, a tight, rolling 1.5 mile ribbon in New England. It’s brutally narrow, with blind turns, downhill braking zones, and off-camber turns mixed in for good measure. It will be quite a handful for some of the quicker cars in the game.

Audi Ruapuna Expansion Pack Now Available for Project CARS

The first track expansion for Project CARS is now available across all platforms and introduces Ruapuna Park International Raceway, premier racing facility in New Zealand. The expansion extends the game’s already impressive selection of tracks  and includes the following variations:
