Last week, I mentioned Sony’s support of Team Peugeot Sport in the pending 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 race, and that news has turned out to be even more promising than it first seemed. Why? It appears Sony is no longer just promoting the “Gran Turismo” brand, but now they’re getting specific with a big, bold Gran Turismo 5 logo on the car and on banners around the circuit. This is a change from just last month at the 24-hour Nurburgring race, where all the cars were sporting generic GT sponsorship.
There’s still no word on whether or not we’ll see a new demo of Le Sarthe at this weekend’s race, but it’s encouraging to see Sony become more aggressive in promoting their nextbig racing title. With big announcements regarding GT5 expected at E3 next Tuesday, it would certainly make for good timing… Thanks to all who sent this in!

Peugeot gave Microsoft a kick in the balls for changing to Sony/GT5 sponsorship on the 908s. Hey it may give us fans 3 diesel LMPs in GT5 (the 908 and Audi’s R10 and R15)!
@lachlan – You’re right, tire-screech is exaggerated in GT, especially on Racing-tires. I never heard a F1 car screech, but in GT, supersoft screeches like hell even when only correcting a bit. Hope, they fixed that or give us the on/off opportunity

Has anyone noticed that these cars last year had a small xbox 360 logo an them, and now they are plastered in GT5 and PS logos? Its not a bad thing but cool never the less.
a bit of topic but I hope they changed the tire screch sound coz its blody awful. the best sounds iv hered are from nfs pro street. if you’ve hered it you ‘ll know wat im talking about, and if you disagree i think u should play it again. it is so good. it echoes and that really makes you feel like your there and it doesnt ever sound like it is in a loop like gt5p does, in gt5p u can here that its the same noise being played over and over. so yer i hope they change that what do u guys think?
And actually, that first one looks a bit like GT5, minus the people.

Well, I have seen some pics from the upcoming Le Mans practice and one car has no signage for Sony, Playstation or Gran Turismo 5 yet another car does. The #1 Car does not have any signage, but the #2 and #3 do. Check our Yahoo Eurosport for pic of the #1 car, planetlemans.com for pics of the #2 and autoweek.com for pic of the #3. PS – I am tired of waiting for the release date… i’ll believe it when it is my machine…

Denz, I saw the race last year, and you could immediately tell that the Peugot was going to win the race between the new R15 TDI in the first few laps, especially after 1 of the R15’s had a major crash in the first hour. I’ll never forget that.
Sony is being “aggressive”? I’ll consider Sony’s actions aggressive in promoting GT5 when they actually give us a damn release date. :-/
I think we can add one more car to the confirmed cars list! Cant wait to drive it in cocpit view at night during the rain at the Nordshleife.

Why advertising for a product (in this case Gran Turismo 5) is it’s not on the market (yet)… I know why, but still… Thay should better release this game so we can race lemans ourselves! ;p

I just realized, if the interior view subject was true; about only race cars and premium cars having interior view, would it be safe to say that all non-premium cars have a premium version which would have the interior view, which will not really be an issue if every premium car has interior view!? wow next week is awesome, with world cup and E3 going on i dont think i will be able to study for exams….
Nice, although I’m not much of a fan of the Frenchies. And may I correct David up there…Speed will not have the entirety of Le Mans because they’ll break away for F1 qualy and NASCAR crap for a couple hours Saturday.
Im going to Silverstone in july… i wonder if gt will be present there. its on the gt prologue map…. so was nurburging… so im just putting two and two together. f1 race is 9th-11th july.
