Gran Turismo 5 “Car Pack 2″ DLC Now Available

Gran Turismo 5 December 20th, 2011 by Jordan

The latest batch of new downloadable content in Gran Turismo 5 is slowly becoming available in the PlayStation Store around the world. “Car Pack 2″ contains the following new cars and can be purchased for $3.99 in the United States (check your local PSN Store for specific pricing information):

  • 2011 Mini Cooper S
  • 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI R
  • 2010 Volkswagen Scirocco R
  • 2012 Nissan GT-R Black edition R35

If you purchased the first DLC material in October, you will also receive a special “Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 SP” along with five “New Car Refresh” cards as a bonus.

It’s also important to note that, since the introduction of the 2.02 update, the Toyota FT-86 Concept II ’11 can be acquired in the game if you purchased multiple copies of the original DLC packs. There’s a lengthy discussion and analysis of eligibility requirements for this special car here in our forums.

Next dlc can we have more tracks, how about some of the older tracks from previous gt’s, like red rock valley, test course , ss r11 & the awsome complex string

What Pugxsi said. :) I really hope the next DLC will be the “GT Classics Track Pack”, really need it. That’s maybe why the seasonal events are gone. Maybe Kaz and PD are probably going to renew the events with those tracks. :D

    Merry X’mas to all.

Love this latest update and DLC. The new 86 is nice and I really like the 2012 GT-R.
I got more excited than I thought about being able to add new wheels to the standard cars. I’ve put some on most of my Japanese classics and they set the cars off. Thanks PD for that, I hope you can add more rims to the selection for Standard cars.
The updated chase cam is great too! and the adjusted in-game sound effects are tops.
Also love the copy feature for the setting sheets! is it possible PD, that you can add more setting sheets per car AND be able to copy set ups from one car to another?

There’s something I would love to see changed in GT Auto. After a wing/ body kit part or rims has been installed, if we want to remove it we have to pay a small price which is fine but the purchased part just vanishes into thin air!
It should return to our garage and be reusable on any car instead of having to pay the full price again.
This could merge with the setting sheets too. Say on one sheet the wing/rims could be installed but on another sheet(same car) the rims could be stock or another set of rims and the wing could be removed.

I would be grateful for something like this. Please keep up the hard work PD!
I would also love to see more location themes and a point to point option for the course creator.
I really think the GT series needs a long open road point to point run that has all kinds of turns/elevation and conditions…. this would suit the spirit of GT games.

Happy New Year….year of the dragon!

This DLC pack was okay, but I hope that the next DLC pack will be the “GT Classics Track Pack” from GT1 to GT PSP to bring brand new seasonal events using SPA and the new pack GT classics tracks.

    For specials:
    Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

    Mazda RX-8 R3

    BMW M5

    Audi RS5

    Ford Mustang Boss 302

should be part of it to make it more exciting.

    DLC that would interest me:
    El Capitan
    Apricot hill
    Bathurst
    Stelvio
    Citta di Aria
    BMW 850CSi
    Venturi Atlantique
    Donkervoorts
    Ariel Atom
    Alfa GTV6
    Maserati Ghibli, quattroporte
    more TVR’s
    Westfields with car engines
    Aussie V8′s
    etc.

DLC that would not interest me:
Another two VW golfs, yet another skyline and another BMWmini cooper

I have things like a nissan R390 GT1 road car and a McLaren MP4 DERP DERP DERP i have not yet driven, so i’ll pass on the latest DLC option thanks.

I think this is a great pack. The ’12 GT-R is a much needed addition, although its introduction doesn’t seem as well-received thanks to the five GT-R’s that appeared with the last DLC pack. The Golf and Scirocco are an interesting bunch: AWD grip vs short gear ratios. The Mini is the one oddball; it’s a fantastic hatchback, but I didn’t realize there were any major changes to the Cooper S in recent years.

Also, major thanks for the ’12 Toyota 86 Coupe. I wasn’t expecting it so soon (and certainly not for free).

I think GT5 could benefit from a monthly DLC release with 10 cars per download. Here’s a suggestion DLC pack:

    2011 Ariel Atom 3 Supercharged
    2012 BMW M5
    2011 Ferrari FF
2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca
    2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor
    2011 Koenigsegg Agera R
    2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
    2011 Mazda RX-8 R3
2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series
    2012 Pagani Huayra

Not complaining too much, it’s just a game, but it’s a funny way to celebrate the season of giving. Before the recent maintenance I could race my Ferrari street cars, my Lambo’s, my Ferrari F1 cars, and almost anything else for decent prize money, now all I can do is race American production cars, big deal. I am assuming more Seasonal Events will be added, but what a bad move to take away so many races right before Christmas!
How about making more cars available for Racing Modifications? 17 out of over 1,000? Really?
How about providing prize money for winning races on your own race tracks?
How about adding Street Courses and Ovals to the Course Maker module?
How about adding purchaseable additions like grandstands, pits, etc to Course Maker tracks?
How about adding some classic race cars like the Sunoco Porsche 917/30, the Ferrari 512, McLaren M8D, 1995 Benetton F1 car.
How about adding some tracks like Sebring, Long Beach, Abu Dhabi, Interlagos, all paved Pikes Peak, Jerez, Bathurst, Bristol?

I would really like it if they would change the tire situation back to what it was before the update i mean really GT5 Sport tires lasting longer than Racing tires i thought this was supposed to be a simulater not just another game id rather play need 4 speed or something. Ive been playing this game almost everyday in between my deployments and you idiots took the realism out of it not to mention made it into a joke thanks….

    Hi guys, I’m new! =D

Just thought I would add my 2 cents, in saying that for the price asked, I would expect to have cars added that WERE NOT in the original game. Not just slight design tweaks here an there and a coder tinkering with the HP settings. Seems a bit unfair, especially around Christmas haha

and yes its a robbery price down in new zealand. $8 NZ which is $6 USD. rediculous.

selling cars individually is an essential fast needed move

I reckon selling car packs is stupid.
i mean i want just the 2012 GTR, not some crappy mini or golf, why should i have to pay for what i want?

    PLEASE sell cars individually.

this is not good. selling them alone would be awesome.
i dont want to pay for cars i dont want and will never drive.

I like the DLC but there is no doubt that PD are trickling the content to keep us coming back for more. There are all cars we would like to see in the game but think about it…. DLC comes every 2 months from now on and I think we will be presently surprised as time goes passes. The new tyre wear physics are insane and I can’t work out if a car would really shred it’s rubber that quickly!? either way it makes driving on real grip tyre wear on an even bigger challenge than before because now the setup of your suspension and LSD is essential.

Merry Christmas everyone and see you on the tarmac!

And I paid a 20/25% mark up on the US gamers too. Think they got robbed down in Australia and New Zealand though…
