Gran Turismo PSP Pre-Order Bonus Roundup

gran-turismo-psp-pre-order-promotions

We first learned about the Gran Turismo PSP pre-order promotions back in August, when it was revealed that automotive icons Bugatti and Lamborghini were coming to the series for the first time. Now that we’re closing in on the release date (October 1st), it’s crunch time if you want to get ‘instant access’ to one of the above cars. To help you decide, here’s a brief list of where you need to reserve your copy. Remember, promotions vary by country, and this is not comprehensive. If you find these cars offered by other retailers, please share them in the comments below and I’ll update the post accordingly. Keep reading for the complete list

    I have codes for :
    Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren & Lamborghini Countach LP400
    I can exchange it for an Enzo or a GT-R code…

  2. Luzifer42

    I pre-ordered my GT on 4.August 2009 at amazon.co.uk. I asked them an got this response:
    “…I understand that you wish to receive a bonus code for the item “Gran Turismo (PSP)”.
    On checking our website, I am sorry to inform that we do not provide any bonus code with the item “Gran Turismo (PSP)”…”

    in case anyone read my comment and felt the same way, here’s an update:

    the playstation twitter feed said to call the customer service number, so i did, but it wasn’t as helpful as i hoped it would be. the guy i spoke to had to forward my issue to the PSN team to verify that i had bought the game, and 3 – 5 business days later they’ll call me with an update.

  4. cj

    cuarache_GTR, i remember spending literally a week back in like 2003 or 2004 trying to get all gold on the first license so i could get an mx-5 and use the initial 18k for upgrades… memories

    so i bought on PSN, how the hell do i get my GT-R???

  5. WTF Polyphony

    I don’t see why they don’t just have each car be in the preorder. Or at least like $5 each. I’m still buying it, but its just messed up.

  6. Race_man83

    In Germany you get the complete pack. If you order the Collector’s Edition on Amazon.de you get the Bugatti Veyron (because of the CE) and the other 4 cars seen above (for pre-ordering). That’s very cool.

  7. cuarache_GTR

    i’m seeing alot of talk about not starting with cars from there gt5p garage coz its uncool to race around the sunday cup with a nissan gtr or dodge viper but……. and its a very huge full bodied beyonce sized but if you complete the license tests in gold you’ll get some pretty exclusive cars for that which will make the sunday cup a lil easier and save you spending that initial 12000 creds u start with as well experienced gt player this is what i normally do memories of flying past mazda demio’s on the autumn ring in gt1 while driving a nismo 400r or trd 3000gt what i wana know is after proving your skill on the license tests is it still unethical to do so or should i still buy a second car and work my way up what do you all do? sorry about the essay

    My luck has always been:

    If I use the logic that I am buying the game anyway, I might as well pre order and get something extra for my $$$, the result is always that someone has a sale literally the day after launch or some great coupon essentially meaning I paid $$ for the bonus.

    But if I don’t pre order, then inevitably it becomes impossible to get for a week and never goes on sale :D

  9. TOLL-Scibba-HRT

    hi sam if the website say collector s edition there must be two version coming out? well might have to wait until 1st october if the collector s edition comes out i will buy that one. cheeses sammmmmmmmmmm

  10. stu

    I’ve pre-ordered with ebgames the collector’s edition and I get the Bugatti Veyron from the CE and the Ferrari Enzo for pre-ordering in Asutralia.

  11. Sam

    to TOLL-Scibba-HRT:

    hi, what title on your pre order receipt? mine is Gran Turis CE. but it doesn’t matter, even its normal version, we still can get yellow enzo.

  12. Lion-Face

    @my_R32

    NZ I believe, EB games NZ is giving the code for the 2002 Ferrari Enzo, while MightyApe.co.nz are gifting us with the other 3 cars (Citroen GT, Lamborghini Countach LP400 1974, Nissan GT-R Spec V 2009). And provided you get the special edition you will also get the Bugatti Veyron. Mightyape definantly has the best deal, 4 bonus cars with pre-order.

  13. TOLL-Scibba-HRT

    hey sam yeah i no about the black collector s edition game but the guy from Ebgames told me there is no collector s edition game coming out in the store.

  14. Nomino

    “Play.com in the UK have the Collector’s Edition exclusive with a voucher for the Bugatti to download as well. Limited to 5,000, I think.”

    Yep, but that’s instead of the four-car deal. So, if you want exlusivity on the black Veyron, you have to miss out on the others unless you can trade them.

  15. Mike

    So far there are no pre-order bonuses in Canada, I’ve checked at EB Games, Amazon.ca & Bestbuy. Talked to someone at Sony & they said there are going to be pre-order bonuses, just the retailers have yet to announce them. Strange.

  16. TOLL-Scibba-HRT

    i per order my GranTurismo PSP from Ebgames and i will be getting a special code to unlock the ferrari enzo how cool is that baby haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  17. my_r32

    Us here in New Zealand get 2 choices. With EBgames.co.nz we get the Nissan GT-R v-spec in blue. Or with Mightyape.co.nz we get 3 preorder bonus cars Citroen GT (Yellow), the Lamborghini Countach LP400 1974 (Arancio), and the Nissan GT-R Spec V 2009 (Blue).
    I went with the Mighty Ape deal, and yes those 3 cars come with the Special edition, not the normal one :)

  18. Steve

    Does the PSN bonus apply to any region? For example, I’m in Canada, will I get the blue GT-R if I buy the game before Oct. 14?

  19. Addict3d

    @Alan,

    you say GT Mobile is a stupid little spin off game? you should check the current PSP racing games, like nfs shift. This isn’t a spin off version, it’s a game fully made for the PSP. And if you plan only on buying GT5, then why do you speak in GT Mobile news? Plus, you are not obligated to transfer your cars from GT PSP to GT5, so i don’t see any problems.

  20. Sam__NY

    @Alan

    There’s only as many cars with exclusive colors as there are people who buy the bundles. In other words, if you’ve got one (either by buying one or getting one through the GTPSP trading system), keep it, cuz there’s only so many of them out there.

  21. Jose

    im with corrado roo, and i;m gonna start with a mazda, its nothing special with the mazdas but i started gt3 with a miata and the best find i got on gt4 at the start was a mazda rx-7 so i hope they have used cars and i can buy the last gen rx-7 ssince i had the one before that. or even better, the late 90s miata, i wanna start with that car, its almost like tradition since i started on my NFS with that car years ago and its a nice car to start racing with

  22. Alan

    @ Corrado, i with u on that, i loved starting off every new GT game fresh having to buy a crappy 2nd hand car and then working my way from there, and anyway its not GT5P that u can transfer cars from, didnt they say it was GT PSP that u could transfer them from?, it doesnt matter for me as im waiting for the proper GT5 game and not buying a stupid little spin off game like the psp version

  23. Alan

    Does it really matter what promotion their doing for this, any half decent driver will have enough credits for all these cars within a couple of hours of playing the game

  24. Sam__NY

    @Corrado

    If you’ve got prologue data, will it automatically transfer to GT5? Cuz I’ll happily delete my prologue data.

  25. Corrado

    (Sorry about this not being related to the post) Is it only me or do you think that we shouldn’t be able to transfer our cars over from GT5P on to GT5, because what makes Gran turismo so fun is the fact that you start off with an average saloon or estate, and compete in small races, in order to buy upgrades and gradually improve your car, then you afford better cars, and so on, if you can transfer all your Ferrari f430s or dodge vipers onto gt5 then u basically get an unfair start, it may seem really good in some peoples eyes, but come on, racing the Sunday cup in a Ferrari 599? it’ll ruin it. does anyone else think like this? or is it just me?

  26. James

    Yeh unfortunately with the play.com deal in the UK, they dont offer the other 4 cars with the limited edition, only the Bugatti.
    Ive gone with the limited edition, but wish i was gettin the other 4 cars aswel.

  27. funky_kinda_guy

    Play.com in the UK have the Collector’s Edition exclusive with a voucher for the Bugatti to download as well. Limited to 5,000, I think.
