In an apparent effort to capitalize on the popular reception of the Corvette ZR1 on the cover of Gran Turismo PSP, Polyphony Digital have released 19 new screenshots showing off the detail of the game’s 3D model.  Check out the full gallery right here, and if you missed last week’s shots, see them here

  1. Canadian STIG Says:

Bullshot or not? This is the pressing question.

  2. pspgtpsp Says:

will the cars really look like that in the game? or is that some sort of development model?

  3. Funkydunky Says:

These really look too good for the PSP version. The last few batch of PSP shots all look like PS3 shots????

  4. Canadian STIG Says:

I’d love to be surprised to find that these are at least the shots of the cars before you enter a race, you know when you choose the car and it spins around showing off its exquisite detail. Racing with this detail, hmm…

  5. aleksandar Says:

this look like corvette zr1 from gran turismo 5 for ps3, it”s to good for psp!!!!

  6. Funkydunky Says:

I still can’t see the PSP even being able to do this on the showcase shots. I could be wrong though, I wouldn’t put much past PD. The in game shots I have seen for GTPSP look just like GT4 to be honest, not that this is a bad thing.

They look like HD shots and that isn’t PSP

  7. Aaron Says:

i doubt the psp is capable of this…im pretty sure its a ps3 model like u all said

  8. Nikhil Says:

Those are just renders, won’t look that good in-game. Still impressive though.

  9. GTMad Says:

The PSP can’t produce modelling of that quality….wishful thinking it is lol Those def look like PS3 shots, even then they are incredible!

  10. John Says:

They absolutely are not what the game will look like on PSP and it’s getting pretty bad now… they are claiming this are “the model” when talking about GTM? No way… not even close to possible… beyond bullshot, now just totally flat out lying.

  11. Coiler Says:

    no way its gtps5
its like downgraded gt5 , maby becose of damage ?

  12. Ignasi Says:

It looks like a GT5P model! I don’t think that GTMobile will look like this.

  13. For the PSP Says:

Obviously the PSP wont be able to render the models at this quality, but you can easily notice that these models were made for the PSP. The jagged edges inside the headlamps for example are too bad for a PS3 GT model.

Even if you look at the in game renders in previous posts (http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/gran-turismo-psp-enzo-mclaren-02.jpg), you will notice that even though the resolution, lighting, shadows, etc. of the images are quite high for the PSP, the models themselves lack the refinement you would expect from a GT on a PS3 or GT5P for this matter.

  14. Blademask Says:

Guys, stop. PSP games will not look like this.. but these renders aren’t pre-rendered. Look at the shadows of the side mirror and the body. The shadow is detached almost.

The question is why is PD using bullshots to promote the psp game?
What engine is this image being created in? GT5? The detail does seem less than prologue, especially the head/taillamps.

  15. John Says:

These models were NOT made for the PSP… look at the wheels… I doubt the PSP could render just one wheel with full effects. That polly count on them is tremendous.

Jagged edges inside headlamps? Did you look at every other curve and sweep on the cars? Those are HIGH poly models. They are better looking that Forza 2 models and I would venture better than GT5P models (or on par – or maybe they ARE GT5p models). These were in no way made for PSP.

As for being on the car select screen… still no way. You might see these jpegs as stills in the game somewhere, as a slideshow or something, but these things will never pop up in 3d anywhere in the game, the psp couldn’t possibly handle it.

  16. morshed Says:

    OMGGGGGGGGG

looks way better than flopza 3 and it is just a PSP game

  17. frank-jaeger Says:

    You meant GT5 ?

  18. Bogie 19th Says:

Looking like some nice bullshots to me. And using my favorite car never the less.

  19. caribbean topdriver Says:

gt5 car graphics all the way…….

  20. scalman Says:

look guys it could be some sort of photo mode of game, when you leave game and its showing your car in photo mode ,like GT5P,but still it must use game engine,so i cant believe what im seeing, just cant believe, still PD never showed any bulshit about GT games,so anybody think they do this time? i dont.maybe its realy photo mode and all psp power is concentrate on one car model at time, this could be posible, and its PD not any game maker,so they allways going forward

  21. John Says:

Not possible. PSP couldn’t render this even by itself in a staic environment, aside from the fact that these screens are even above PSP screen res anyway.

These are at best slightly related to GTM in that maybe they are the model used for the cover art or these are just renders that will appear in some kind of art collection on the disc as static pictures.

The car models with textures etc probably exceed the PSP’s useable RAM alone before any processing and effects are added to the workload.

  22. Aaron Says:

one noticeable part… the interior….i thought the cars will be like gt4 with dark tint and not seeing the interior..hmmmm

  23. GTMad Says:

GT5 for £17.59 on Amazon UK, no release date though. Most likely it’s a misprice but what the hell, i still pre ordered :P If they cancel it then so be it

  24. Tsuchiya Says:

    porsche ….

  25. Lemon619 Says:

Eww no Anti-Aliasing …or very little, other than that the car looks great, but i dont think its an ingame shot.

  26. Dude27 Says:

I just can’t believe that Jordan is going on writing news about such a big lie… it’s just to ask yourself if these people just know about or own a PSP at all? obviously not…

    Come on!

  27. John Says:

    Good point…

  28. ralph89 Says:

Hey jordan you god the wrong tittle for the new. It should be “New Corvette ZR1 Model Screenshots from GT5″

  29. ralph89 Says:

    got**

  30. ralph89 Says:

news** damn it my keyboard is messed up.

  31. Brad Says:

This cant be for the PSP. The PSP’s graphics are very horrible compared to these renders. It would be in poor marketing taste to show these screens and then sell a game that doesn’t even look near as good.

  32. PJ Says:

The previous batch of cookies were sprinkled on after it came out of the oven, but these are from an even fancier stove.

  33. Marmar Says:

Actually its a GT5P model. nuff said

  34. alucard0712 Says:

Version 1 – I think it’s can be PSP, but at PSP real resolution and w/o AA, and ONLY in showroom. Version 2 – for showroom game may use a prerendered CGi video, i think it use almost the same space on UMD as a such good models, with good textures.

  35. alucard0712 Says:

    Version 3 – YOU WANNA GT5 SCREENS – TAKE IT!!! :)))))))))))))))

  36. John Says:

I am not sure what you mean by version… but I assure you, none of these pictures could be generated in 3d by the PSP under any circumstances… showroom or not…

  37. alucard0712 Says:

Yeah, i just saw GT5p Corvette C06 pictures, it’s almost same model…And I thought that PD never post “in-game” screens or videos, all of them prerendered with maximum settings (resolution,AA,etc) Still great pics, so my third version of what there pics come from seems right ;))))

  38. ron86@gmx.at Says:

    Maybe…

Maybe pd isn’t allowed by sony to publish anything about gt5, just stuff for gtpsp to not ruin the sales of the new psp along with gtpsp! Cause a release date, screens, videos and so on of gt5 can take away the interest of gtpsp and the go!
And maybe pd listen to the fans screaming for material of gt5 and give it to us covered as gtpsp material!
In my opinion thats definitely gt5 engine!
    Sry for my bad english!

  39. RedBaron Says:

They’re just sending us screens from GT5, but I would like to see those cars on new tracks finally :o)

  40. El Drifto Says:

    This can’t be GT:Mobile.
    Impossible.

It’s GT5, and it looks damn good!

  41. lbsf1 Says:

guys its not going to be gt5 because look at the jagged lines it can’t be a psp car so it must be a pre rendered vid of the car for showroom or dealership i

  42. alucard0712 Says:

Same jagged lines on pics i’m looking at now (from GT official site,Z06).It’s prerendered, but using PS3 model i think. There is no point in using another model that worse than PS3 model…

  43. Mustangmiha Says:

    Again Corvette. Urgh.

  44. irnbrutwinturbo Says:

Why are these screenshots the size you would expect of the GT5 running 720p?

PD would’nt drop to 720p for a faster gaming experience would they?

  45. Niko Says:

only pre rendered screens……in-game much worse.

    I want GT5….4 1/2 years waiting….

  46. Johan Says:

i think the car is only so good graphic when you pick the car in the menu, and get gt4 graphic when you race it. look on the GTPSP gameplay you will see when the guy pick a car all is good graphic and when he race it is like GT4 graphic.

  47. Fatkid Says:

These images are definatley not created using the PSP graphics. They are neither actual gameplay or showroom quality screenshots.

There is no way that the UMD could hold 800 cars rendered in this quality even for just the show room and not gameplay.

My guess is that with Sony, naturally looking to push the new PSP Go, have asked Polyphony to create these images as GT mobile will be the Jewel in the new PSP’s crown (I hope).

  48. MadduckUK Says:

stop reporting bollocks as fact :(

  49. Jack_uk Says:

Confirmed Bugatti & Lamborghini In GT PSP

  50. David Says:

Anyone who thinks these are PSP in game shots needs their head checking, these are just target renders and have more resemblance to GT5P.

Even GT4 didnt produce graphics like that (inc full 3D alloys) and seeing as the PSP is slightly less powerful than the PS2 and the in game footage of GT PSP we have seen already is no where near this level, you can assume these are meaningless PR.

Youll be lucky if GT PSP even matches GT4’s level.
