New Gran Turismo PSP Screenshots: ZR1, Saleen, & More

gran-turismo-psp-enzo-mclaren-03-small

Here’s a few more Gran Turismo PSP screenshots, showing off the Saleen S7, Mercedes’ SLR McLaren, Ferrari Enzo, and Ford GT.  No doubt, the shots look exceptionally good for any game – but are they too good?  As with the previous batch, these will no doubt spark lots of debate as to their “legitimacy”.  You be the judge!

These shots look legit to me. Have a look around the window screens and rofs of the cars you can see the models are fairly low poly. That said they look fantastic

  2. aleksandar

This shots look like from Gran Turismo 5 it”s can be pspgt!!!!! but we see only 4 car on shot”s and we all known that in gt5 we have 16 cars…

  3. John

I am not sure where you get that because they all appear about the same quality… the car in 1 2 7 and 8 appears to be the same model with the same effects applied.

And again, no, you will not see this in game on a PSP. Can’t happen short of actually adding (a lot) more hardware to the PSP including a new high def screen.

  4. Patrik

    yeah,
as wonderful as it would have been, these shots are quite likely from ingame cinematics, which may be rendered using GT5 engine :)

The game will look more or less like the old screenshots, which are still looking very good for PSP.
I also don’t undestand why to post images like this, almost everybody who has psp must know that there’s no way it could look like this.

    this is more like it

Pictures 2 – 6 I believe have a better chance of being real PSP shots of the actual game. The remaining few otherwise look like GT5P reiterations if one were to ask. I could be wrong though, just like all of us. The people at P.D have always managed to surprise mind you.

  6. John

No… my answer is you don’t have to wait to see becuase what you see in the pictures cannot be what you will see on the PSP screen. The mere resolution counts it out.

Even if it was downscaled it still makes no sense it would appear anywhere.

You claimed something was common sense when indeed it’s exactly the opposite… common sense tells you it is not.

Unless PD physically crammed more hardware into the PSP, there is no voodoo magic that can make these be what you see on the PSP screen.

The only way you could possibly believe is if you are uninformed and talking about something you can’t understand but are filled with enough hope and fanboyism to swallow it hook line and sinker. Not common sense… just logic blinded by desire.

i guess your answer is just wait for the game and see. This is PD, maybe they did some voodoo magic on the PSP, who knows? But yeah on my first comment i don’t know why you replied at me on that plain simple comment :D. But hey, you gotta say what you gotta say to correct people.

Yes I know the PSP plays video clips… and I know those video clips, when used in games, even as cutscense only or intros, especially games that they are trying to pack down to fit in 1 GB are compressed and show compression artifacts.

    These stills show none.

Video at the resolution of these stills, at the quality of these stills I do not believe is possible on the PSP.

I ddin’t mention anything about PSP awesome and advance graphic tech in my response did I? I mentioned only intro and FMV… which is exactly what you are talking about… re read my response, you will see I didn’t say “these are not in game play shots” I said these aren’t even intro FMV and here is why.

  9. ralph89

You do know PSP play’s video clips right? It’s probably a video from GT5 so you don’t have to be tech geek on me. :D I never mention anything about the PSP being so awesome and graphic advance tech, did I? LOL.

  10. John

Common sense says that no intro for a PSP game comes at this resolution…

Common sense says that FMV at this resolution takes HUGE space and a pretty potent CPU to decode…

Common sense says you will not be seeing these images on your PSP.

I don’t know that it was published in the hard copy of the magazine, SC – this might just be a feature on their website.

  12. SC

I love Gran Turismo, but my sister pointed out a floating problem in Gran Turismo. If you look close enough you will notice it. The graphics are supprisingly well rendered with that many cars and tracks a on PSP, yet under 1 GB. And which month magazine was Yamahuchi interviewed Jordan?

  13. John

I would guess Ngrignon missed your intended point as the only non cryptic part of your post was “Actually, they’re not bullshots.”

I believe you were trying to indicate that these are some kind of hidden message or sneak peak at GT5, however that message was fairly eschewed… unlike Ngirgnon’s response which is directly at the fact that these photos are listed as GTM screens, yet clearly aren’t.

  14. Terronium-12

    @Ngrignon

I don’t know, either you can’t read, you misunderstood what I wrote, or you’re looking for an argument.

At which point, throughout any of the words I used did I state I believed that to be representative of PSP capability? o.o

Read those last two sentences in my earlier response, and focus.

    Focus very hard.

  15. John

I will believe it when I see it…

    Backgrounds seem possible on PSP.

The motion blur seems like it would tax the hardware but maybe…

Cars… not believe for PSP… especially not more than one car model on screen at a time.

I agree with possibly a cinematic, but not what you will get in game.

I hope I eat my words but I just can’t see how.

  16. walsall fc

    @Ngrignon

I do believe everybody has a right to their opinion, if you think differently on what Wiseguy said in which i agree on, then ur welcome to think different instead of having a go at us about it.

  17. Ngrignon

    @Terronium-12

My god, you must be living in a dreamland…. this is obviously bullshots (shot which doesn’t really give a real visual of the ingame gameplay ), if you have a PSP, you already know that these graphics are JUST IMPOSSIBLE on the PSP (apart from an ingame cinematic). PD is really cheating you big time if you believe that these screenshots are reflecting the visuals that you will play on you PSP… GET REAL!

  18. Ngrignon

@ Wiseguy & Walsall: please stop your childish fanboy bash… this is really stupid and a complete nonsense.

  19. Ngrignon

PD syndroma…. WHY they never show us some REAL direct feed screenshots of the last build??? Why everytime, they have to edit them or put screenshots prcessed on an higher powered machine? the gameplay videos are good enough, so why cheat us?

  20. lolzaur

Emm, last time I checked, the psp isn’t capable of HD. So those aren’t screenshots of the original psp engine.

  21. Terronium-12

    Actually, they’re not bullshots.

As annoying and sometime intolerable as their lack of information is, this is information. This is confirmation at the very least; beat around the bush or ask me how I know this to be a fact all you want to, but you’re getting two for one.

Why in the World would they showcase the PSP counterpart using the GT5 engine?

It’s a meta-message, and I’m willing to guess GT5 is actually right around the Esses.

  22. Hernan

Shameless bullshots again, i dont know why PD show this to fool people when the real game looks excellent for a PSP hardware.
