Video of Curcuit de La Sarthe in GT5 Prologue

UPDATE: Commenter fade006 brought another video of La Sarthe to our attention.  Check it out:

Take a look at this: video of the infamous Circuit de La Sarthe, home of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.  No, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen La Sarthe (or even the Nurburgring) in high definition, but this is the best look we’ve had of the track in motion.  Like the special “Nurburgring Special Edition” version of the game, the track is probably just a ‘glorified’ version of the same model we saw in Gran Turismo 4.  Regardless, to a fan base starving for new GT5 Prologue tracks, this clip should provide a tiny bit of refreshment (and hope!).  Thanks to GTPlanet user seizure_ for digging this up – check out his forum topic for more.

NOTE: For the skeptics, the instrumentation is from GT5 Prologue:

mmmmmmmmmmmm yeah about GT4 because your playing it on the ps3 it will look bad but if you put GT4 on ps2 it will look much better try it

The end of the video seems to indicate the car being driven was the Dome S101, which wasn’t in GT4… It’s a shame we don’t have any LMP/GT cars in Prologue yet. They’d be great round Fuji, Suzuka and the Daytona road course.

This is actualy the same Le Mans version of GT5P I played last year during the 24Hours of Le Mans. And it was the same game in 2007. So it doesn’t have the same quality as GT5P it’s more an HD version of GT4 Le Mans track.
But it is quite fun to drive, even if we only could have driven the Audi R8, aand not the R10 TDI…

And it’s Le Mans and La Sarthe ! French is not easy.

I still think Le Sarthe on the GT4 is one of the best around- with an FFB wheel you feel the road the entire lap and and in term if fidelity to the real track, it makes GRID version look like a joke (despite having a night/day cycle).

Yes, the billboard on the track have the GT4 style logo (even in the first frame of the video) and the road/grass textures looks horribly bland. Just like the preview they showed of the nurburgring, this looks like they simply imported the GT4 track into GT5p.

You’d have expected them to have updated the graphics by now.

Yes, this track is clearly in the middle of transition from Gran Turismo 4 to Gran Turismo 5. However, the instrumentation is definitely from GT5 Prologue, no doubt about that. I have updated the post to include a side-by-side comparison so you guys can see for yourself.

good morning guys, a question, the video in question of the La Sarthe track will be released on GT5 prologue? you know when? thanks and hello to all

I don’t think it’s GT4, but as others have said, it might not be a full GT5(P) quality track. If you look at the grass as it passes, you can sometimes see the reflection of sunlight, which is broken up with little bits and pieces of shadows. That’s representative of the normal maps on the grass, a feature I don’t remember GT4 having. There is also a hint of HDR as the driver goes from facing the sun to facing a darker area, and you can see the screen increase in brightness in reaction.

Maybe it’s just me but at 00:50 the road advertising above the track looks like the logo from Gran Turismo 4, not 5 Prologue.

This is not GT5 Prologue, i would suggest to put that out of the news title.
I know that this is also not GT4, but i already see people getting confused.

According to the interface, this game looks like a GT4 version, not GT5P………(GT5P did not show a balance bar at the bottom of screen, but gt4 did)
