How PS4 Pro Boost Mode Will Make Your Racing Games Better

The closed beta for the latest PlayStation 4 update (v4.50) comes with a much-requested feature for PS4 Pro owners. Labeled “Boost Mode”, this feature (when enabled in the settings) allows games that haven’t receive a PS4 Pro compatibility update to now utilize the Pro’s improved hardware for better performance.

Youtube channel GamerMuscle recently took the chance to drive one of the latest Porsches available in sim racing on two platforms: Assetto Corsa and iRacing. The video comparison — aiming to find the differences between the two PC simulators — was carried out on the British circuit Donington Park.

More Gameplay Images of GTR 3 Released

If you haven’t heard the good news by now, the recently re-established SimBin Studios has confirmed to RaceDepartment that its return to the racing game scene will be accompanied by the third installment in the GTR franchise. Following the reaction to the news, the studio has taken it upon itself to release a new batch of screenshots, featuring Spa Francorchamps and the BMW Z4 GT3.

DiRT 4 Will Not Feature Current WRC Content Due to Licensing

In a surprise move, Codemasters announced DiRT 4 last week. While the news has plenty of racing fans hyped for more rally action, it’s also partially defined the game by what it won’t have. Pikes Peak is off limits due to licensing exclusivity belonging to Gran Turismo and now there’s more bad news: any WRC-related cars and tracks have been ruled out of the title completely.
