30 Minutes of New Forza Horizon 3 Gameplay From Behind Closed Doors at Gamescom 2016

Gamers heading to Gamescom in Cologne this week are amongst the first of the public to sample Playground Games’ latest Forza title, Horizon 3. The show-floor demo is the same one we witnessed during the game’s E3 debut in June though, leaving fans eager to see more of the game before its launch in five weeks’ time. Interviews and accompanying play-throughs have been happening behind closed doors however, and Xbox On has exclusive footage from one of these meetings.

Creative Director Ralph Fulton walks us through the gameplay, showing off new areas and features in the game. Starting off with the co-star of the game’s cover, the Ford F-150 Raptor Race Truck, the video begins in the Outback. Driving through pink lakes and goldmines, Fulton talks about the custom 12K camera rig that brought real Aussie skies to life in the game.

The Forza Blueprint custom event mode is featured, starting around the the 9:05 mark. Here, Players are able to create events based on the ones provided in the game. Different car types can be selected (even individual models), time of day and weather can be modified, and a custom name can be created. Once the event is created, it’s shared with your friends list.

Widebody kits from popular companies like Rocket Bunny and Liberty Walk will be available on select cars.

After a friendly competition between Graeme and Ralph ends in the latter’s favour, a peek at the menus shows the recently-revealed Forzathon as well as the custom license plate and horn options. At the 19:50 mark, A Nissan 240SX decked out in a wild Rocket Bunny kit makes its first appearance. Widebody kits are a new addition to the franchise, joined by over 30 new aftermarket rims.

Drone Mode is shown off for the first time at 23:40. Working as a free-roam camera for the player, it should provide a handy new approach for players looking to make their own videos to share. The drone functions online as well, letting you record your friends: multiple drones can actually be spotted in Surfers Paradise later in the video.

Oh yeah, there’s also a double rainbow. Double rainbow!

Forza Horizon 3 launches September 27 on Xbox and Windows 10 platforms, or September 23 for those that purchase the early-access Ultimate Edition.

    White letter tyres!!

It’s a bit of a shame it’s a USDM 240SX. All they’d have to do is mirror the interior and make sure the dials and everything are the right way around. Here’s hoping they have the RHD versions of cars that have it available, cars that are sold in Australia or the UK. Like the new Mustang.
