The wait is nearly over: the next entry in the open-world racer has officially gone gold. Releasing on the 27th of next month, and four days earlier for those with early access courtesy of the Ultimate Edition, Forza Horizon 3 is set to deliver plenty of fun from down under.
The Forza Garage series of car reveals came to an end this week with a surprise only the craziest of car lovers would appreciate. Week 6 changed things up quite a bit by revealing that the three-wheeled Reliant Supervan III, best known to those in the UK for being featured in the BBC comedy ‘Only Fools and Horses’, would be featured in the game.
Players looking to get a taste of Forza Motorsport 6 will be able to do just that this weekend. Starting late last night, the 2015 title was made a part of Xbox Live’s Free Play Days initiative, allowing gamers to test drive any of the 460+ cars the game launched with back in September of last year.
Racing game fans on the Xbox One (and 360) can look forward to another free title next month. As part of the Games With Gold program, the original Forza Horizon will be free to all players with an active XBL Gold subscription.
The third week of the Forza Racing Championship kicked off earlier this week. The first week of the Forza Racing Championship wrapped up last Sunday. Players that participated in either the Elite or Open divisions were gifted prize cars, regardless of placement: the 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 and 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III, respectively.
Gamers heading to Gamescom in Cologne this week are amongst the first of the public to sample Playground Games’ latest Forza title, Horizon 3. The show-floor demo is the same one we witnessed during the game’s E3 debut in June though, leaving fans eager to see more of the game before its launch in five weeks’ time. In response to this Turn 10 have kicked off a new program, Forza Race Marshals. The intention of the program will be helping to keep multiplayer events in Forza Motorsport 6 “as clean as possible.”
