While we’ve been aware of GT Sport’s next content update for a little while, the exact contents have remained a bit more of a mystery. In the last couple of days, the fog has lifted slightly, with Kazunori Yamauchi’s traditional teaser post revealing that five cars are on the way (even if no-one can work out what one of them is).

We are quickly approaching the next Gran Turismo FIA GT Championship World Tour event, happening this weekend in New York City.

With just a handful of days to go until the next round of the GT Sport FIA Certified Online Championships World Tour, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed the next content update is on its way.

There’s a familiar feel to this week’s Daily Races, with some new traditions and something a little older.

For the first time since the FIA GT Championship EMEA Regional Finals in Madrid last year — which I personally declared the “best Gran Turismo event, ever” — Polyphony Digital is extending an open invitation for the public to attend its next major Gran Turismo competition.

The Gran Turismo World Tour heads to the PlayStation Theater in New York City next week, and we are starting to learn more about what to expect from the event.

The new GT Sport Time Trial mode has its second set of events right on cue this week.

Tradition returns to the Daily Races selection this week, with some very familiar formats — even if all three races feature add-on content.

If you’re anything like us, you’re still getting stuck into GT Sport’s latest content update. The old favorite Mazda Roadster Touring Car is making an appearance in the Daily Races, alongside the Porsche 930 Turbo which also shows up with the Civic EK Type R in the new Time Trial mode.

Just as it doesn’t take long for crafty gamers to find exploits, it doesn’t take Polyphony Digital long to slam the door shut again.

It’s always been the case that a major part of any game is gaming the game itself. There’s always the odd player who will probe and test the game’s limits to work out exactly what it will and won’t allow at any given time, then exploit any unintentional gaps in the rules. Or, to put it a more succinct way, cheat.

There’s always some stuff to pick through with a new GT Sport game update. It might be interesting or rare new cars, new tracks to learn, new Scapes locations for the shutterbugs among us, or something else entirely.

After the official info drop yesterday, the latest version of Gran Turismo Sport is now available for players.

As we’ve previously mentioned, the latest update for GT Sport will arrive in around 12 hours, but it contains a little more than we originally thought.

It’s a rare week without road cars in the Daily Races this week. All three options will see you take charge of race machinery, although some race cars are a little faster than others.

The Gran Turismo world may be all about GT Sport and esports, but an older title is enjoying a second lease on life right now.
