If you have yet to take last year’s Formula One game for a spin, now is the perfect time. There’s now a free trial of F1 2019 available on Steam, Xbox Live, and the PlayStation Store, until March 18. That gives players eight days to dive into Codemasters’ 2019 F1 effort and see what all the fuss is about.
As a quick refresher, F1 2019 features all of the official teams, drivers, cars and all 21 venues from the 2019 season of the circus. The 2019 entry is the most in-depth yet, featuring the Formula 2 feeder series in addition to the top-tier cars.
That means players will have to make their way up the ladder before getting into the big boy seat. It makes sense too, as before you can compete in the 2019 season, you’ll have to prove your worth in the 2018 feeder series. With all 10 teams and 20 drivers accounted for, including the likes of George Russell and Lando Norris, don’t expect it to be a walk in the park.
F1 2019 has a few more tricks up its sleeves too. Players can relive the legendary rivalry of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, through an add-on Legends pack. When we reviewed the game, not only did we think it’s the best in the series to date, but one of the best racing games, period.
Although we’re expecting a sequel later in the year, Codemasters is still keeping F1 2019 current. The latest patch, v1.22, arrived just last week with some bugfixes and minor adjustments.
With the F1 calendar very much up in the air right now as the sport starts to feel the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, it might be your only chance to experience several of the grands prix this Spring.
The free trial ends next Wednesday, March 18 at 17:00 UTC. If the taster sways you into making a purchase, the game is also discounted until March 19.
