Ouch, 5 minutes is huge.

Is it just me or have these 24h race threads become less active in the recent years? The Le Mans thread was also quite quiet. Can't remember how the Daytona 24h thread was.
Forum threads get less traffic in these days of unsocial media, plus we tend to watch the race and not post until something noteworthy happens. The penalty for the leader being case in point. I heard about the penalty and then accessed this thread - only then am I going to see new posts.

Oh. A BMW with a problem.

Another BMW having a bad time. And some visibility issues... :indiff: aaand he's blocking the pit entry now 🤬:banghead:

Would I be a horrible person if I said I laughed at that?
His own team was laughing at that so I'd say not really.

Aaaand the next leader of the race has gone off.

Why doesn't the recovery vehicle driver just yank the car off from the barrier. it can't be that hard?

At last, the #74 has returned to pit lane.

#74 fought the barrier and the barrier won. Hard not to look away with how hectic it’s getting.

And now the #29 Audi is in strife! Puncture and serious bodywork damage on the right-rear...

He's parked it! Van der Linde's parked it!

Nobody in the top three is looking good at the moment.

Aww man, after such great driving in the #29 this really sucks.

Vervisch takes the #4 Audi into the lead, with 2 and a quarter hours to go!

Hindy. The #4 takes the lead. Can it complete the whole lap without going off.

#911 finally out of the pits... just as the third-placed #3 Black Falcon Mercedes comes in.

At this pace they may yet win this.

Edit: Pointless trivia: Just after Adam Christodoulou finishes his interview with the English commentary(blames the Supra)... the #89 zombie golf that took 13 hours off has passed him.

Don't know what's going on with these helicopter shots of the #911...

Meanwhile, the #44 Falken Porsche is in the pits following a spin. Damage to the front, repairs are underway... and it's been wheeled into the garage.

Vervisch really pushing the #4 Audi now.

Vanthoor pits the #911. In goes Estre… and there's a small problem with the right-front.

Nothing too major though... Estre is on his way!

The porsche is really gunning it.

Estre vs Vanthoor, 50 minutes to go. Gap is the Dottinger-Höhe to the S/F line :)

So Boring.

Edit, stupid misread.

Gap now 52 seconds so the Audi can probably do it, but no mistakes allowed.

Audi haven't be at the front of this race until misfortune struck the leaders. No mistakes and they win.
