A maxed-out 54-car grid is expected to take part in Petit Le Mans.

Outside of DragonSpeed running in GTD Pro, there's no major changes here in terms of entrants. Car Blanche will finish the year in GTD Pro (going along with their entry into the 2027 GTD Pro Championship), and the usual MEC entries from Risi, Manthey, Lone Star etc. fill out the GTD Pro and GTD categories.

Regarding the drivers in GTP, Laurin Heinrich will return to the #7 Porsche Penske 963, in a final effort to steal the GTP Drivers Championship from Jack Aitken. Other noteworthy additions include Nico Muller returning to the #5 JDC-Miller Porsche (who are looking to potentially have a 2nd 963 on the grid in 2027) alongside Kaylen Frederick, as well as Colton Herta & Factory Cadillac driver Will Stevens piloting the #40 & #10 Wayne Taylor cars, respectively. Scott Dixon & 5-time Indycar champion Alex Palou will have respective driver duties in the #60 & #93 MSR Acuras.

No unexpected driver shake-ups in LMP2, though in the GT classes, Factory McLaren driver Benji Gothe will be the 3rd driver in the GTD Pro RLL Mclaren, and AMG Factory driver Lucas Stolz will race in the #80 Lone Star GTD Mercedes. Mathieu Jaminet will also be behind the wheel of "Grello" in GTD Pro.

------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding championship fights, it'll be a tall climb for GTP title hopeful Laurin Heinrich. Jack Aitken will win the GTP Drivers Championship if he finishes 9th or better in the race. If my math, and understanding of the rules are correct, I believe Aitken can clinch the championship if the #31 Cadillac scores at least 4 points over the #7 Porsche in qualifying. If that doesn't happen, Heinrich and the #7 Porsche would have to win the race, and Aitken and the #31 would have to finish dead last in GTP for Heinrich to have his most realistic shot at winning the GTP Drivers championship.

In LMP2, mathematically the Top-4 of Inter-Europol, Crowdstrike by APR, the #22 United Autosports squad and AO Racing have a shot at the title, with those 4 covering a 108-point spread. Realistically, it'll likely be a fight between Inter-Europol and Crowdstrike, as only 4 points seperate the 2 teams in the standings, though I expect United and AO to complicate matters for them.

In GTD Pro the additional MEC cars adds some extra risk of the top teams losing their championship bid. With 14 cars, there's a 180-point spread on the table in the race, and the Top-7 are within 179 points of each other. Realistically, I expect it to be a fight between the #4 Corvette, the Paul Miller BMW, and the recently on-form Pfaff Temerario, as those three are within a 53-point window to each other. Both of the Multimatic Mustangs are plenty quick and have an outside shot of jumping in, too, and definetly shouldn't be discounted.

Finally, in GTD, I think it's safe to say that all eyes are going to be on Winward Racing and Turner Motorsport. Despite being on a 4-poidum streak, which includes winning 3 of the last 4 races, Winward only has a 6-point advantage over Turner Motorsport after the latter's win at Indianapolis. The Heart of Racing Aston is also a big threat, as there's only 116 points between them and 1st. Imo, GTD will probably be the class to watch, as you have Winward fighting for their 3rd-straight GTD title, Turner fighting for its first Teams, and possibly Drivers title in over a decade, and THOR fighting for it's first Teams title, with Dudu Barichello in the hunt for a Drivers Championship.

The BoP adjustments for Petit have also been posted (table courtesy of the IMSA subreddit).

In GTP, the Porsches see a solid weight break, with the '25 & '26 cars losing 8 and 11 kilos respectively. Meanwhile, the Cadillac and BMW see swings in the opposite direction, gaining 9 and 10 kilos themselves. Despite the '26 963s losing some Stage 2 power, this imo puts them on fairly equal ground with the Cadillacs, specifically the Whelen Caddy.

In the GT Classes, the Temerario, alongside the WTR Huracan, see the biggest weight gains at 11 & 13 kilos, though the Temerario also gains some power in both stages. Even still, that puts them 20 kilos under the GTD Pro-leading Corvette, but 20 kilos higher than the 2nd-place BMW. The McLaren & Astons see the biggest weight losses, but also the biggest losses in Stage 1 power, with a whopping 4% loss for the Vantage GT3. Both the 911 GT3 and the AMG GT3s see the biggest increases in Stage 1 power, though the BMW M4s will have an advantage in weight and Stage 2 Power, which will be a boon for Turner in GTD. The Mustangs will also be the only GT cars with 100% Stage 2 Power.

This should definetly be an interesting race, all things considered. In GTP, I definetly think that this'll be a straight shoot-out between Porsche and Cadillac. The GT classes are still a bit up in the air. The Vantage will definetly be at a disadvantage in the slower portions of the track, though their low weight may help them make things up in the corners, and possibly help their tire wear. In any case, I think it'll be a good race.

So, Ford Racing...

...Will all be bringing special liveries with them to Petit Le Mans. This'll also be Rocky's debut in IMSA since his initial reveal at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Bartone Bros have also confirmed that they'll be running in next year's Michelin Endurance Cup in the GTD Pro class.

Nice, I‘m definitely going to recreate both Porsche liveries in the game.

The Mustang‘s color scheme looks amazing too, I really hope we get the car in the game at some point. Definitely one of the coolest (and best sounding) current GT3 cars!

Ive gotta be deranged... my dog woke up about 2 am to go to the bathroom, so she stayed up for about an hour and then went back to bed.. however... I did not.

1. I stayed up to watch the Asian GT World Series from Beijing
2. Switched over to youtube to watch the World Finals
3. I guess I fell asleep for a bit but then I woke up to watch the European GT World Series from Barcelona. That was a mess with all the rain.
4. made myself breakfast and now im getting ready to watch the 10 hour Petit LeMans.

I'm nuts. that's the only explanation.

Are you really dedicated if you aren't destroying your sleep schedule?

If it helps, I got home from work at around 11 PM, stayed up till 4AM playing Ace Combat 8, watched the Sepang GP Qualifying, fell asleep for a few hours and then went out grocery shopping so that I could spend most of my time at home watching Petit...

...which didn't completly work out, as my sleep-wrecked ass forgot a couple vital things, so I have to go back out at some point today. :indiff:

Also, Jack Aitken is officially the GTP drivers champion. He eeked out 4 points over Heinrich during qualifying, and by starting the race, his points tally from yesterday is locked-in.

I mean, I destoryed mine just by simply being on medical leave after I had surgery 2 weeks ago. No sports required.

Worth noting that this is the most traffic congested race on the calendar. Traffic management will be critical.

It took the rain for a start to finally go smoothly.

It was reported earlier that the #27 GTD THOR Aston is in the garage due to engine troubles, so their championship run is as good as done. :(

First round of pit stops for the cars that started on wets.

If only the same effect could happen on the roads..

96 BMW to the garage with an engine water pressure issue. 27 Aston still hasn't made a lap yet. GTD is now on its head for the championship.

Winward's basically been handed GTD the championship on a silver platter at the current moment.

Tower Motorsports LMP2 into the wall at Turn 1. First FCY.

Edit: Turner Motorsports has officially retired. Pretty much guarantees that Winward wins the 2026 GTD Championship. If THOR retires the #27, then that'll make it official.

Edit 2: The #27 is on the track! Granted, it's 61 laps down from the GTD leaders.

I've gotta be - last month I woke up early to watch the Suzuka 1000 km for 6 hours, and then switched over to the last NLS series race at the Ring for another 4 hours.

Another 5 minute penalty for the 36 Corvette...

I'm back and we're still green? Great!
But I missed a FCY, from what I'm reading.

I’m at work and just checked into the race. What happened to the #4 corvette. Why is it so far down the leaderboard?

Race has been red-flagged due to lightning in the area.

Great time for me to open the feed then eh.
