Andy Priaulx has been crowned the 2005 WTCC Champion after winning the Macau Grand Prix Touring Car race. Dirk Muller, his rival for the title, crashed out.
Congrats to Priaulx. 👍 Just today, Speed Channel showed a hour-long highlights show of the Nurburgring 24 Hours, which he won. So a Nurburgring 24 Hours win and a WTCC championship. Quite a year for him.
Macau...Now THAT is one track that needs to be in GT5!
Yeah, never saw it in its full glory until I watched the replays last night. Damn, it's worse than Monaco!!! I'd be disappointed if that track weren't in GT5... WITH damage.
I hadn't fully seen Macau before either. It looks mental. The cars look so fast there. It's quite like the Citta di Aria track in GT4 in terms of character.
It was a good run to the championship for Priaulx, but I would have preferred it if he had won more races. I think it's important for champions to win actual rounds of the championship.
Just imagine the Superbike races at Macau. Normally, I correct people who think that motorcyle racers are insane, but the guys who race at Macau on two wheels come pretty close to insane.
