Thanks for this, it's a definite improvement over the original's very muffled cockpit audio.
The external audio on @Young78 's standard F40s is absolutely sublime, superbly capturing the raw brutality of Maranello's finest creation. This is great news for all chase cam drivers out there, but not so good for us who sit in the cockpit.
Is anybody able to remove all the fictional cabin sound damping on this car without having to resort to CSP's global external-internal audio swap? The F40 should sound like it's trying to kill you at all times when driving, because that's what it's actually trying to do. It's only being honest with you.

I tried using the 'mix in exterior sounds' option. It is designed for cabriolets but only mentions excluding open wheelers. Setting it to always I thought worth a try but of course, when you want a feature of CSP to be bugged, it works as advertised. Might be a fudgeable if you could trick CSP into thinking the F40 was a cabriolet easily though.

Thanks... I think that's what I did with the Giulia, and that's why it worked from the start (well, except for the odometers backgrounds, which aren't visible, but that's a CSP bug, seems).

In the case of the TVR, I think I don't started from scratch and I mixed some files from the old version. Then started experimenting nerviously trying combinations (first install this, then that, then the inverse way...), and ended up with something that works... 😅

If the the extension/data_override/lod.ini doesn't work, I've found another workaround to make TVR Griffith and Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ GTC60 standalole:

• unpack data.acd
• edit lod.ini
• enable "Use unpacked data if esists" under "CM/Drive".

If it still doesn't work (like on my system), rename the car data.acd file

I have to admit I did not notice the moire before, but now I could not unsee it.

Fun fact: SPA in ACC and the "brand new" Evo engine has the same moire as OG AC.

It's annoyed me for over a decade, and only took me that long to get around to fixing it.

These figures are with offline 1 car. Kunos original tracks are at 330-350fps in my current config at 2.7K resolution.

Spa 2022 Update

This is my take on the excellent Spa 2022 mod by guigui0256. I cannot stress enough how I take no credit for this what so ever. Please do not give me any credit or thanks for this. I did basically nothing other than fix a couple of technical issues with the treeline lighting and altered a few textures. I realize this is not a cool thing to do to alter someone else's work without permission. I did reach out to the creator awhile back about these issues and he said he was happy with the track so I don't feel like I am doing anything wrong. If he sees this and asks, I will pull it.

The download is rather large because it is a full track folder. I run the track as it's own separate track, not as an addon in the original Kunos Spa folder. Reason being, his extension impacted how the original Spa looked and I didn't want to change that so I made it a separate track. Sorry for the big download.

Spa 2022 Update for original Spa Folder

The mods have full support for all of Pyyer's Spa F1 and WEC extensions. In order for them to work properly, please follow the directions below.

1.) Install whichever version of the mod you choose to use.

2.) Install Pyyer's Spa extensions into the track folder. Do not drag them into the root 'assettocorsa' folder or they will not get installed to the correct location.

3.) Install the files in the included 'Files_for_Pyyer_extensions' folder and overwrite anything it asks.

Notes:

-- If you want the sound effects back, open up the ext_config file and set the ext_config-audio section at the top to ACTIVE = 1. It does weird things on my system so I had to disable it.

Both mods have been updated to include @Masscot active airspace features. Use the links in the quote to get the updated version you use. You should be able to extract the new versions and overwrite when it asks, but I would suggest you disable\backup or delete all of the old track skins first. Some files have changed and some skins have been removed. And remember, you do not need to use any of the track skins. They are there simply optional ways to make some parts of the track look different.

I still recommend using the stand alone track version, but if you prefer the version that installs into the original Spa folder, please be aware that I don't thoroughly test that version so I can't guarantee everything will work correctly.

Updates:

-- Added most of @Masscot active airspace features. I did not include the crowds because of the hassle that would have been to make them work with the newer layouts.
-- The animated flagmen must be activated by enabling the Animated Flagmen track skin. It made no sense to me to have animated flagmen when I was driving a practice session so I set things up so they could be turned off or on as needed.
-- The 'Misc Textures WEC' skin has the nice WEC textures @Masscot included with his airspace mod.
-- Little tweaks here and there to some shader values and other config stuff.

I'm close to give it up, just the techpro barriers, guardrails, fences, concrete barriers and tire walls are 2.1M triangles with 1000 objects.
There are parts of the track when with 1 car there are 4200+ draw calls.

I am very surprised that with all the CSP faffing about, there hasn't yet been an effort to have interplay between brake temperatures and tyre temperatures. At least at a very rudimentary level.

I've skimmed the video and I do agree with 85+% of it, although I believe his complaint with kerbs is at least mitigated by turning on a bunch of the funky CSP "Physics Experiments" and making sure Extended Physics is enabled globally.

Now, the kerbs feels pretty similar to ACC imo and have for a few years. They used to be a death sentence.

That, and it's very easy to spin the RSS cars, actually - he probably missed the TC2 setting in the Setup page and doesn't have it bound to a dial (it is a bit difficult to find in the "Patch" section, under "Car" and "Extended Physics").

There is no one golden LOD gen preset. As these pictures show with car based fine tuning you can achieve better results.

Not only triangles are important, but number of objects and also number of textures, the lower the better.

However your preset is quite good starting point for a quick shot, so I also saved it. :-)

where you are pointing I can clearly read 'N' , so the display is there, no?
(maybe I'm not interpreting your question correctly... please rephrase)
The GEAR indicator btw was not present on that Kunos car... in order to have it you needed to have altered the digital instruments file, or you downloaded it and maybe now you reverted back to the original Kunos one (here a copy , remove .txt , unpack data and rename data.acd, then put zip content in the car folder)

Crikey, that video reminded me just how bad the shapeshifting Moire interference pattern is on the pit buildings at Spa. It's like something cooked up in the 1960s by the CIA's brainwashing department.

Remove the .txt extension from the attached and unzip to your Spa track folder. I included this fix in the extension folder of my recent 'Spa active airspace' mod, but doing it this way should be a global fix for all various routes and extensions etc.

The recently released F1 2014 mod by The Race Project is good I think, in terms of sound , ffb and handling ,
but the tyres are too glossy/reflective...

to fix this I put this at the end of each car's extension cfg file :

Hi everyone,

I’m having a visual issue with a modded version of the Buddh International Circuit (acu_india) and I’m trying to understand what could be causing it.

The white painted lines and track edge markings appear bright pink/magenta when they are far away on the horizon. As I drive closer to them, they gradually turn back to the correct white color. This only happens at a distance; nearby textures look completely normal.

I’m using latest Content Manager with Custom Shaders Patch enabled. The problem seems related to LODs, shaders, or missing textures in distant models, but I’m not sure where exactly to look or how to fix it properly.

Has anyone encountered this issue before on this track or on other mod tracks? Could this be caused by missing textures in LODs, broken mipmaps, or an incorrect shader setup with CSP?

Any guidance on how to diagnose or fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe getting overridden by a skin or config? No idea, it should work as per my instructions. Unless your native resolution or AA setting is creating its own Moire perhaps?
For tweaking audio (or most other things) just find the relevant part in the config and edit it, comment it out, or delete it entirely. Should be self-evident, I try to label things reasonably sensibly.

V8 Supercars 2011

I initially released these in 2014 on another forum... just started getting into AC again and needed to freshen these up to somewhere near the current standards.
Updates include:

• new tyres, somewhere between V8Corsa and BCRC
• CSP functionality with wipers, lights, flames etc
• upscaled interior textures
• fixed driver animations to avoid clipping through the steering wheel

I'm probably late to the CSP bugs party, but anyone else seeing a regression in GrassFX? I'm getting again the weird colors and popping up behavior, and it disappears when I go to the previous version.

He uses the "default" weatherFX (LCS) for driving and in replays Pure. Thats what i see.

Actually I didn't solve it... I had redone the file integrity check from Steam and it seemed to be solved, but the problem actually occurs for many cars and not for all as I thought (Kunos)... So I still have many Kunos cars without sound
