Velo's rework of the 400 GT is bloody nice.
Will he rework the RTM Khamsin, too ? It needs more love (and looks so tiny compared to its rivals)

He may. We certainly have the original model. I agree the relative scaling of those two cars is wrong as the Khamsin was 7 inches longer than the Montreal.

But there is a whole string of cars he and I are planning to put together before the Khamsin gets considered. My two personal passions are racing sports cars from the late 40s to 1970 and 1960s Lamborghinis.we also have models for the Indy and the original Ghibli.

One of the problems with the nicer models that RTM have used is poly reduction. You can reduce by quite a bit without serious deterioration of the model. But getting it down to Kunos recommendations is essentially impossibl. This is considerably lees of an issue these days for many people as CPUs and graphics cards have become so much more powerful since AC was released, but for those with less impressively specced PCs it’s still important.

Try driving alongside any of the ACC GT3 cars at Dragon Tail Double Dragon.... for one example. No exterior sounds at all.

Or, same track. Try the ACC AMG GT3 2020, for another example. No interior sounds whatsoever. (Probably the same for the other ACC GT3 interior sounds, but I haven't tried those yet.)

All work fine of other tracks I've tried so far.
 
There were 3 different classes in group A worldwide homologation in the 80s. So you had multi class races. Class 3 (over 3000 cc), which were the strongest (in 1986 for example: bmw 635, holden VK, Rover sd1, Sierra, Volvo 240,...), class 2 (2000-3000 cc), which were smaller cars and were around 3,4 seconds slower per lap (1986: bmw 325, Alfa 75 (75 Turbo ran in class 3 in '87 and '88, well sort of, there were no more class 2 and 1 in those years), Mercedes Evo-190 (the old one, not the evo II we have in AC) and class 1 (under 2000 cc), which were even 5 sec a lap slower (Corolla, VW Golf,...). ETCC was like a champions league of best cars from different competitions around the world (BTCC, DTM, ITCC, ATCC, STCC, ...). I created a skin pack for ETCC 1986 which ran: class 3: 3 TSW Bastos Rovers from BTCC (not my skins, found them on RD), 2 Schnitzer BMW 635 from DTM, 3 Ci-bi-emme 635 from ITCC, 1 Garage du Bac 635 from Belcar championship in Belgium, 2 RAS Volvo 240 from Swedish Stcc, 2 Eggenberger Ford Sierra's from DTM, 2 holdens from ATCC Australia (HDT, National team) and for class 2: 2 Mercedes Snoebeck, 2 Mercedes Persson (both teams from DTM I think), 2 Linder bmw 325 (DTM) and two Alfa 75 (jolly team from Italian ITCC). I didn't bother with class 1. I had to create (better say modify some cars, as we don't have them in AC (325, the correct Alfa 75, Merc 190 and Sierra). The rest are from atcc pack which were updated by easy. I BOPed all the cars, so they ran around one second from each other inside the class and I managed to bop them so they run around 1,2 seconds inside actual lap times in 1986.

So here's the pack if you want it. For easy cars, you need to install easy's pack, as there are only skins and slightly modified data.acd file (cause bop) in zip. So backup data.acd for those, cause the file will be overwritten. Other 4 are whole new cars and will not overwrite anything. I also included a race grid preset for content manager (link inside the txt file in zip) . Enjoy. Oh and here is great movie for etcc 1986 season if you like these old series like I do:

The BMW and Alfa are reoworked ones from other modders and the Merc is from Kunos. The 3D models are just 3Dsimed puzzles, not so great honestly.
The physics are worked for me just trying to match the performance at that time and then BoPed
ETCC era just before BTCC and DTM golden years.
I have been working also in the Sierra XR4T, predecessor of the RS500 that would join the group of three.

Initially, I made them just for fun and for myself.

Very nice. Well I hope you finish them at some point and share them. Would be very cool. I can then adopt the skins.
 
A quick question about AWD cars:

What is AWD2 exactly? And how can you modify the torque distribution in AWD2? (and maybe if there's any way to make it adjustable mid-race)
 
Nürburgring. Had to deactivate the Extension to avoid crashes and missing textures. 0.1.77p is really really buggy. Still reported some probs on Ilja's patreon but no response.
Yeah, the same happens for me with 1.76, tracks with Pyyer ext crash the game - If I go back to 1.75 I have timezone data missing.... Not sure what to do

Solved, they now load without crashing the game - unzipped the texture folder in Pyyers extention folder

how can i make a car to support sequential shifting?

in the CM ui it says sequential but in the data folder there is only the supports shifter or paddles option..

Hi! I'd like to add that some cars sound doesn't work at first, then I have to close the game and open it again, then the sound works. It started to happen in 0.1.77-preview1 version. Random cars, random tracks.

Yeah but the car isnt recognizing my sequential shifter
Sequential can be assign either to paddles or sequential shifter, not a the same time. Best practice is to create a sequential profile, assigning sequential to sequential shifter, then in the drive page, assign that profile to a car you want to drive with sequential shifter.
Same principle can be done for dog legs h shifter.

IMPORTANT:
  • Remove any previous installation of the mod before proceeding
  • Be sure to have Custom Shader Patch v0.1.74 or above or you will crash. CSP is MANDATORY!
  • Make sure you have the latest Content Manager Or else you will Crash!
  • Use 7-zip File Manager to extract the mod, or else corruption during extraction is possible.

- Extract the "CONTENT" folders into your Assetto Corsa Main Directory.

it is not a setting. you can remove all the textures from the zip and place them in the extension folder then rewrite the config and it works fine. the folder becomes an absolute mess doing this though. what version of csp are you using to not be having issues?
Could you pleaase explain what you mean be "rewrite the config" I just unzipped the texture zip folder into the ext folder and it stopped the game from crashing on these Pyyer tracks but am I missing something? I'm not sure the tracks look like they did before updating to 1.76..... I'm rather lost.
