Simple question. Is 1.0 the lowest value a Material can have for ksSpecularEXP?

I have an tree object I made in 3DSimED whose material values has 0.00000 for ksSpecularEXP. In the game when I use object inspector, it lists it as 1.0. I even tried to export the .fbx and edit it in kseditor and it still comes out to 1 for ksSpecularEXP so I thought maybe that was as low as it can go.

if what you are looking for is to remove the excess brightness in ksSpecular put a value of 100

I think this is the solution, i tried it a half year ago so im not perfectly sure.
In the cars extension folder's extension.ini put these lines:

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = window (replace "window" with windows material name from showroom, the external material, or the internal one... cant remember :) )
SHADER = ksWindscreen

This should also be mandatory for anyone that encrypts their mods.

In the ui_car.json file, write that you want to be contacted or other instructions at the top of the mod's description, put your name or alias in the Author line, and add the URL for your web site, social media account, Youtube channel, etc.

And if you don't want it fixing, don't release it broken in the first place. Take your time, get it right, test it properly... have some pride in your work. Seems people can't wait to put their stuff out there in all stages of completion, and many mods get abandoned in that state because the modder wants to get his next project out rather than finish the current one.
Broken/unfinished mods are like a honeytrap to the modding community, especially if the mod is so very nearly good and easily fixed.

Did you unpack the data.acd? You have to unpack it with Content Manager and replace the mirrors.ini in the data folder created, then delete data.acd or repack the data with CM.

That mirror fix won't apply to any other car, mirror meshes are named in a specific way.

Well, I took a little while to find out how to enable Dev. Mode in CM.. :)
But now I have the UNPACK button, and it worked.
I replaced the lines as you said in mirrors.ini, but it didn't work.

It has this weird magnification (I play with VR).
I had to bend down to really look in the mirror.
If I'm upright in my driving position it looks like 3 x magnified.

You can adjust the mirrors using the CSP mirrors app or BLM Car - or via CSP config (https://github.com/ac-custom-shaders-patch/acc-extension-config/wiki/Cars-–-Smart-Mirror).

Question for PPF makers - With the most of the PPF download .ini files, line entries (in red) tend to show the location of the creators AC installation such as C: D: etc - Does it make a difference if i change that line to my own install location? (in red) - Thanks

hi all, im working on the Brabham BT46 Fan car.

its coming along nicely however theres an issue. The model sinks into the ground when i load it into a race.

Ive checked the suspension and tires in CM and they all look ok. It loads ok in CM too its just in the race the front wheels sink.

Anyone know how to sort this, ive worked a lot on this car and i hope to release it asap but this issue is meh...

Just need to turn the fan power down a little.....obvs!
 
Toying around with SutaSimGarage Testarossa and made some tiny changes.
Sometimes this small things could make a lot of difference for someone like me who really enjoy watching cars running around tracks with Ctrl + C
1. Adjust engine.ini RPM_THRESHOLD=8000 so the engine damage doesn't always show up.
2. Adjust car.ini GRAPHICS_PITCH_ROTATION=1.2 to make the car a bit less tilting to the back.
3. Original engine sounds is rather off in my opinion, so I replace it with "ACL GTR Ferrari 365GTB S3" to make it more alive. I can't attached the SFX.zip as it is to large. It's very easy to do in CM.

The link to the car in Suta's fb seems removed. So I hope he/she's /they're here and willing to share it again.

Tried the BLM app. Does not unfortunately. Only hotkeys that works are 'LOCK/UNLOCK MIRRORS' All the other ones do nothing. Tried in on 2 others cars as well, just to be sure... nothing unfortunately. The little app in the onboard was the same.. nothing.

Then I tried the steps in the video.
Worked well with a couple of other cars, but unfortunately, for the Ferrari F1/87, it did nothing.

Frustrating...

I am encountering a strange glitch, maybe someone here can help.

Parts of the AI car are desappearing when looked at from the cockpit, but not from the outside. It only (as I know) happen with the Mazda RX7 IMSA GTO made by Zin5ki, and it doesn't change if I'm using it as my own car or just as AI. It does it from the inside of every car. No problem in the showroom, just in game, even in the replay. But it looks normal if I do an ingame screenshot, I had to do an oldschool manual screen to see it.

The skin doesn't change anything, it does the same with all of them.
Does someone here knows why ? And how to take care of it ?

I want to make skins for this car but it might be difficult to enjoy looking like this...

You need to have Smart Mirrors app in CSP activated for BLM car app to work.

Don't give up just yet, you're getting close. :D

What Turan said... just watch the complete Video I linked, it show how to enable the Smart Mirror extension.

The attached data.acd contains the fixed mirrors.ini (credits to @TuranRabat) and a modified digital_instruments.ini to center the gear indicator vertically. Don't forget to back up your original data.acd.

just noticed (after few years LOL :boggled: ) my ASR Formula 1 1991`pack is incomplete.....
I do not have the Ligier and the Lotus ... and i am wondering why right now :D
Maybe the pack was incomplete years ago while i was creating the 91´championship.

So i wanted to download the 2 missing teams, but there is only a download/installation through Content Manager.
I am not using it, so i do not find a way to get these cars :confused:
Since the content is free ... i just wanted to ask if its possible someone top upload the 2 cars for me ?? :bowdown:
If it´s not possible i understand that :guilty:

I'd suggest that people submit their changes to the author (who should put his contact info in the mod!) rather than just fix things and reupload. Multiple variants (usually with no sensible versioning) from multiple authors makes it very hard to figure out what to actually use. Plus, what does "get it right" mean? There are legitimately different views of what's "right" and different people have differentl skills and consider different areas important. Not to mention: very few of us have the experience to judge what's "realistic" and, in the case of historic cars, none of us do.
