Good idea, starting a Patreon with cake donations... 😁
On a serious note, it has become a pretty awesome track... :D
...if only someone will convert the other layouts from SHIFT. All the layouts were great fun, so a shame to only see this one making it over.... so far.

idk if this (public) Facebook page was posted here before, just saw some of the mods popping up on FB lately...

I'm loving these, but I'm also wondering if they're any different in spec than the ones that ran in European touring car races (ETCC, BTCC, etc.) -- if they're similar enough, there are a lot of skins waiting to be made.

Given the great selection of cars we have. Are there any sites or places to find Grids that resemble meaningful series.

I am struggling to find a great classic grid of late 60's / early 70's cars who raced together. Fords Escorts, Mini's are ones I know of, but which other models would make good competitors for a fun race.

I think Amaroo Park is perfect for these cars.

Honestly I can’t think of any dedicated sites or lists for that besides just looking at entry lists for historic events on Racing Sports Cars if they exist. Then matching your AC grid’s cars as close as possible to what you’re looking at.

Typically if you have a car you want to drive, you can look it up in the database, find the races it participated in, and from there look at the event itself and the entry list if they have it.

Personally I’m lazy and I just group my late 50s - early 70s GT and Touring cars by power to weight and run them like a vintage revival series. Works well when half the driver models are the modern racing suit lol. Much easier to explain in my mind.

I'm doing some tweaks to the recent Hungaroring_ACC track privately for @AGR based on his suggestions and videos of the 2022 race. Adding and removing some trees and trying to get more accurate grass textures based on the videos I watched. I'd like to put this out there for anyone who might be interested, but I don't know if that's not cool to do since the original track maker might be working on improving it. Is this kind of thing frowned upon here? I.E., messing around with someone's work and making it public. Don't want to get a bad reputation.

My suggestion is send them your work and ask them to post this as an update if possible. If they say yes, all is good i think.

If they won't give you an answer, post it on here. At least you can say you've tried to reach them.

Btw, it looks very nice.

Great site and advice. Thank you

Hi. Have a look on Aussie bangers site on fb. Also Basas touring car legends.

Further to my post the other day on a fantasy track, I put some thought to paper and have the sample here from some of the best tracks and famous track landmarks in the world.

Red - Daytona - Bus Stop, Bank to Turn 1 into
Orange - Suzuka - Straight, Turn 1 stopping just short of Degner into
Yellow - Spa 2 parts - Blanchimont, Chicane, LaSource, Eau Rouge + Courbe Paul Frere into
Green - Imola - Tamburello to Acque Minerale into
Blue - Monza - Variante Ascari to Curva Parabolica into
Purple - Bathurst - Reid Park to The Dipper

Thoughts?

Wrong thread?

Is the Reboot version an AMS1 conversion btw? I can't seem to place it.

(It looks to be the more accurate of the two.)
Without being 100% sure (the track was made by the 'former' Reboot Team), I don't think so... 🤔
But the version I have installed is 1.2 (Reboot Team, config and fix by @slider666 and @gunnar333)

I have a problem loading the car, Bmw 635csi : error-content/driver/driver_oval_B.kn5 couldn't set texture.
How do I solve this? Thank you.

[UPDATE] Aston Martin Vantage V8 Manual (TGN)

View attachment 1182148

Download: TGN Patreon (free)
I must get myself one of these cars that changes manual gears by telekinesis.
I'm guessing TGN uses chase cam?
The Kunos MKIV Supra shifting animation is an awful fit but still better than nothing as a quick effort-free fix until something better comes along.
Change the timing thus. Gotta say, whoever started this trend of having BLEND_TIME=200 needs their PC confiscating.
Code:
[SHIFT_ANIMATION]
BLEND_TIME=100
POSITIVE_TIME=360
STATIC_TIME=10
NEGATIVE_TIME=360
PRELOAD_RPM=7000
INVERT_SHIFTING_HANDS=1

As a Londoner myself, the most accurate London track that exists in a game(from Gran Turismo 5), isn’t in AC yet. I live in hope that track can be realised one day.
I am not a Londoner, but I have the same hope.
To be able to drive those streets in AC in VR would be so nice.

@racinjoe013 If you may have missed it, i reworked (even not finished) the semaphore, and glass of the building, and i'm working on the 3D sign of the hungaroring. If you want (once done your stuff) we can merge the work together (strating from the base of the work done by @Junshen Wu, Slider if i'm not wrong and all the others in order to have a finished version instead of 2-3-4 frankenstein version of this track.
Too many people to quote so i'll just respond to all of them. Thanks for the opinions. I was unaware that it's been 3 years since any kind of update. I'd say it's safe to release updates publicly. I also didn't know who did the track to begin with to reach out to them. It doesn't list an author in CM and I got the track directly from a Mega or Sharemods link so no name was attached to it.

@CrisT86 I did miss that you were updating the track. Sorry about that. I think it's the second time I did that to you. I'm going to have to pay closer attention. Merging the work would be great because there's nothing worse than 10 different updates floating around. I haven't done anything special though. All i've done is remove the pines in turn 1 and add some distant trees because it looked to barren off in the distance. I also made some small changes to the grassfx more to my liking and a couple of grass skins. If you've done that kind of stuff already, no need for you to add my stuff. I'll just sit back and wait until you are done and enjoy the improvements. If you want to see what i've done and use anything you like, let me know and i'll package everything up and get it to you.

I did just finish one other thing, but it sounds like you did it already. I did the flag lights and some generic track light settings, but they could be done better. Tough track for making night lights. A lot of the objects are in the same meshes so it's difficult to get alignment right. Offset the light direction for one area and it throws off another area.

Hey guys

A quick question: how do I swap helmets in a car?

For example, I want to know if it is possible to put Arturo Merzario´s helmet (available here > https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/assorted-1970s-helmets-pt-2.50384/ <) in the Bazza´s Ferrari 312 PB.

Is there a easy way to do that?
Hi FlyingSaucer9, it is possible and very easy to do. Just copy the 'helmet_1975.dds' and (if there is one) 'helmet_glass_1975.dds' files into the skin folder you want. Overwrite the existing versions if you don't want to keep them, rename them if you do. That should be it.

Occasionally, you may find that in game the helmet appears as a default red version. This was a problem with Content Manager which has been corrected in the latest version.
