Hey guys, I made a proper video that demonstrates how amazing Assetto Corsa classic Formula-1 can be.

1. You have top notch cars (ASR 1992)
2. You have top notch tracks (Shin's and others' insanely good 1992 track pack)
3. Delicately set up championship settings
4. Personally, I like 20 lap races so that the race is about 30 minutes, plus 15 minutes qualifying and 1 mandatory pitstop for all cars. I don't think it feels like a real race without mandatory pitting.
5. Added sparks

Result: Insanely accurate season, with Mansell totally dominating in his completely SUPERIOR active suspension Williams FW14B (AI 100). When player is fighting back with Senna (McLaren) MP4/6B-MP4/7A you gotta be quite damn good sim racer if you want to beat him.

AI is as flawless as it can be on AC due to superior tracks and cars. No crawling cars, no traffic jams, no insane aggression (when all has been set up properly). You will have the best classic F1 experience you can get.

As much as I love AMS2 and what they're doing and rF2 they don't come even CLOSE. Watch the video and see how amazing AC can be. (My new 1992-1993 Leaderboard mod). Enjoy.

Put subtitles on. They will describe what driver and track it is. All 16 tracks.


i am really glad you like it. i am also a big lover of 90's F1 championships. I have done the physics for it so i apreciate and it makes my day for seen such Feedbacks. Off course Alessandro and the Team spend an insane amount of work behind it to become that good looking and sounding cars so i will also let them know you appreciate it

No shadows get cast in the cockpit - seems the internal glass is casting its own shadow?

add this to the end of the config:

The GT2 is close enough if you are able to share it and the do you have the link for the GTR-1 Roadcar? I actually asked about that many months ago and didn't realize there was one made. :eek:

The ZZII mods are nice but are quite different from the LM/GT version that is from Gran Turismo 2 as that one is more in line with late 90s GT1 cars, but the ones linked are good aswell, especially that red livery.:cheers:

I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. The Callaway is not so bad, but I can see there is work to be done.
I can add some a nice interior windshield and wiper and see about the physics. Will share here when done.
 
Does anyone have a guide or video showing how to add intake sounds to custom car sounds? I want the sound to change depending on the exterior camera view like the custom sound that was made for the CLK GTR '97 race car as viewing the car from the front you can hear the intake very clearly so I know it's possible, but the guides I find only go over the interior and exterior exhaust sounds.

I really enjoy doing fastlanes for AC, so does anyone currently need a fastlane for a wip modtrack or does anyone have a track with bad AI that they want to be fixed? PM me and I will make it. I am always looking for a track to do.
At the new GT layout of the Silverstone Circuit 2024 update by Ofitus21 the AI is sooooo slow even at 100% strength. Maybe you can take a look at it. Thank you!

Well, the version of jaqory is not bad, indeed. I'll keep it :D

mine is not even a real Callaway C4. I'm posting it anyway for the principle, but I think it's not what you're looking for ;)

I don't remember where I found it, but I wanted to recreate the grid of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1997. Now with Jaqory's mod, that's one more car :D

update of the lotus type 23 pack.
clean installation required!
I didn't write down the changelog this time, so I don't remember what exactly I did, edits to graphics and physics.
the main change, added lotus type 23b, it was not in the plans, but lately I like the GTC60 AC Legends pack, and the standard 23 can't compete with them, so the "monster killer" appeared, this was the nickname of the lotus type 23b at that time). it is not much more powerful\faster than the standard 23, but this is enough to fight for victories (at 100% difficulty) on some tracks, on some it is even faster, and on some slower.
I understand that frequent updates can be a little annoying, so there will be no public updates in the coming months. but finding minor errors\shortcomings I sometimes quietly update the mod on the main page, those who are interested can occasionally check the current version there.
constructive criticism is welcome.
 
Hello guys! It's me again experiencing more issues on my mod... this time related to car lightning. I though I would get this fast, but for whatever reason, - some - rear tail-lights and brake lights won't work. Headlights, LED's, Interior LCD, Blinkers, and Central Brake lights are all working fine. But the regular rear tail-lights and rear brake-lights not.

I've been changing parameters and formats, making sure lights are transparent, that the mesh names are correct etc... can't get them to work. Here I'll leave the part of the rear lights from the ext_config.ini file, aswell as a image showing how should the lights work and their names so you have a reference.

*rear_brake_lights was solved somehow by moving the glowing mesh outside of COCKPIT_HR. I did the same with the rest of the meshes that where in there, but no change.
**another weird thing about them not working is that the far left & right center bulbs, which are the blinkers, work perfectly.

Yessir! Wanted to bring weird and unknown cars, Bufori was the choice!

Alright, I will clean up the ext_config file a bit, redo rear tail/brake lights in lights.ini and test, and come back. Thanks for the suggestion sir!

Because of the sidelines and the way the grid is placed on the last chicane you can only use 25 opponents! (26cars overall)

Ai driving:


First, i would like to thank you for the AI improvments. I'm having quite some fun on the Crystal Palace, with my AI cars it's good fun now.

I noticed the AI have a strong desire to get the optimal line rather than protecting the inside, meaning any time i take the inside line i'm gonna win the battle.

I' m gonna play with the ai hints to try to make them a little more aggressive in corners, since i noticed i could delay their brakings using Brake_hint, so they get some momentum to reach apex. I'll let you know if :

1- it makes them faster
2- it makes the racing approach more aggressive
 
if you can easily dive them don't look into brakehint but instead increase their aggressivenes.
They won't be much faster with more brakehint at least not without giving up a lot of safety and they are already pretty much on the edge.

remove this line in the [Material_CarPaint_Metallic] section:

(this makes for no skin to receive the properties... as no skin is called SKIN)

I also do not like the way the wipers reflect light... but they have been set to have material BODY as well as the actual body of the car...

I will post a new extension cfg , that includes Masscot's shadow fix, JK1977's Wiper Animation for Lod b and c , the body paint fix, and windows and wipers reflection fixes.

this extension cfg file is based on the original v1.0 and includes following:
-shadows in interior fix (Masscot)
-Wiper Animation for Lod b and c (JK1977)
-windows and wipers less reflective
-rollcage more chrome-like (more like it's shown in the CM Showroom)
-less reflective steering wheel metal (EDIT: I turned that one off again, it's not better)
