It's the sad reality of creating mods in 2025, no matter how much time, effort and passion you put into a car mod, the moment you encrypt it some people will go ape****. Most likely because they can't rip it apart, claim faux-ownership through meaningless "changes" or "fixes".

I've become very much pro-encryption over the past years, having seen my older car mods (which weren't encrypted) get broken apart and sold on 3D model sites for exorbitant prices. Just last week I had to take down a 3D printable version of my T33/2 which some jackass was selling for 30USD online. Several of my old Japanese prototypes are on similar sites being sold to this day.

If you're not satisfied with certain aspects of the mod or want to see bugs fixed, just communicate to us via the proper channels so we can get them fixed, it's not that hard mr. Easy!
It’s become way too common in the AC community this past year. I’ve been sharing the Mustang work on Discord with a group of people, and the first complaints I got weren’t even about the 3D model or anything like that. It was about the fact that I’m encrypting the 3D model and selling the non-encrypted version (with permission from the creator), just so I can hopefully recoup some of the commission costs and put that money toward the next 3D model I want to commission.
One guy even went as far as to say he’d just buy the unencrypted version, share it with everyone, and then do a chargeback. Only in the Assetto Corsa community

Unfortunately many individuals aren't receptive to changes, so ripping is the only way. I told RSS that the buldges on the F10 cockpit were too big and that they weren't supposed to be like that, showing how kunos who had access to CAD data from Ferrari did the cockpit section.

After swimming through all the fanboys who came up with all sorts of excuses like "onboard has fisheyes it distort the perception", the "RSS used end of season F10 spec your picture shows early season" and finally the "it's not because codemaster, kunos and polyphony digital did the buldges small that it means the F10 had small buldges", I've been told by one of the RSS guys that CAD data given to manufacturers are often low quality and not really representative 1:1 of the real car. And that their measures is correct.

This is way too big for reference it's supposed to be a bump on the car not a buldge.

Completely ruins the car for me. On onboard view the F10 from RSS looks completely ridiculous.

Ended up ripping their F10 to fix it myself even though it's encrypted, i may have lost all the "flexible sharkfin" feature and any bones related animation, but its gimmicks that are not enough to compensate for the ridiculous onboard look of the car. Spending that much time trying to create a faithful representation of an F1 car and priding themselves that they have done a never seen before masterpiece full of features just to shag off legitimate request is not a minority by far for people who encrypt their cars. That's why I'm against encryption.

AC in 2025 currently looks like jenga -they've added so much stuff it's unstable as hell and if you take one bit out you're afraid that everything will crash down lol

(That's what happens when you add things to a decade old engine that barely supports those uh)

We don't expect 4K gaming, we expect rain races that work (they barely do) and night racing that doesn't require a NASA computer to run (good luck) but surely it's not Ilja's fault, nah, it's us peasant unwilling to buy the latest computer to run a game from ****ing 2014 lmao.

Say what you want about AC but it is everything but optimized. I have no problems running night, rainy races in AMS2 but my computer struggles for AC ? Yeah it's not the fault of the game uh.
I disagree, AC runs better on my spare machine with a GTX 1070 than AMS2 and LMU do, by quite a fair bit, and looks better to boot. Pretty sure all I did as far as tweaking the CSP settings was disabling extra fx too, I didn't really mess with it much. Even on that weak machine I don't tend to have stability issues. In my experience CSP works well but occasionally is subject to odd settings issues. I could see people who are unable or unwilling to troubleshoot things having substandard results with Assetto due to this.
Just run the vanilla game then! Or any other racing title that dont support modding like AC!

Guys, if you hate AC so much, then what the hell you do here!? Since last week it seems every 3rd post is for whinning about how bad ac is!
Constantly criticizing something isn't generally productive but neither is toxic positivity.

Which csp you use? I remember Ilja fixed the blurry previews with csp 0.2.7. The filter being used for the previews is the default filter and you don´t have a possibility to change it, it is kind of hardcoded in csp.
using csp 0.2.12.preview1 ... (also downgrading to 0.2.7 didn't fix it )

And when I change the "default" (Default.ini) PP filter, my newly generated preview does not look any different...
would it really be "hardcoded" ... ??? (I can't imagine someone would choose to do that when PP filters are available as ini files... )

please Ilya can you change it so that the current selected PP filter from the active Video Settings preset is being used?
( I'd add a @ilya but seems he's not in this forum... can someone pls forward this to him via another channel? )

1966 & 1967 Chaparral 2D on Overtake guys!

If you don't like the Bruce Lee steering animation...

Bruce Lee GIF

... and don't want to wait for an update from the mod team... here is a quick fix. You can copy the driver_base_pos.knh and steer.ksanim from the WSC60 Ferrari 330 P4 Berlinetta, then adjust the position in CM Showroom (driver, movable). No need to resize.

(Don't copy from WSC60 Chaparral 2F. That requires resize and doesn't fit.)

This is from an encrypted car...
No cockpit_hr, lodA YUGE!, only loda, texture not compressed...
Cant even correct any of those for my very own pleasure since its locked behind encryption, so does a LOT of encrypted cars.
And when telling all that to the creator, 98% of the time they dont care, when its out its out!

I'm yet to read any hate towards AC on here, or anywhere honestly, i guess its quite sad that we are fast approaching being like the GTR2 guys still plugging away.... fact remains, there is still nothing like AC at all after it. You have to go backwards to find anything close and thats GTR2 / Rfactor 1....

As an aside its funny how these GTR2 modders are so funny on their forums about people taking their mods for AC, yet there are loads going back from AC to GTR2...that's is all fine of course..

AC is such a great canvas to mod in though, that's why i will stick around in it for a long time yet to come, the only thing that had alluded me was the drift culture, and now i finally got bitten by it and its ace fun, having an absolute blast and you literally can go wild with the modding side and create some mad stuff.

It´s not that you should change the ppfilter and the preview image is different then. ;) It´s hidden in the folders of csp. Believe me, I spoke a trillion times about this with Ilja but recently there was no effort to change (or to be able to) change the pp filter for the previews. Have you tried switching to a different showroom? Is the problem still persisting? I don´t have these issues and I believe 24H hasn´t them as well, so there must be something weird with your settings.

No.

Waiting for a list of working things that make AC "the racing simulator".
Yeah "racing up to 8/15 laps works" has been mentioned already.
What else? The community, it has great moments, yes.

Then?

I see the nodes appear at Adelaide 1992 (v1.01 by Terra21 + shin956) as well. I have not tested all my 400 tracks.

CSP 0.2.7

This occurred after the recent CM data update and me testing CSP 0.2.11 and returning to 0.2.7. Although the nodes appearance could have been there before these 2 actions as I have not driven Adelaide 1992 for some time. (The nodes did not appear when I installed Adelaide 1992.)

You couldn't be more right, I'm still on some GTR2 forums and their holier-than-thou attitude is just jarring, I pray we won't end 'up like them lol

In every place with a name
They play the same territorial game
Hiding behind the lines
Sending up warning signs

Who recognizes the great song and band? :D

nope, that's not improving things ...
It's like the final render has gone through a blur filter, prob something todo with the resolution it's being generated at and/or what PP filter is being used during preview rendering. Nobody AFAIK knows which filter that is!
If anyone knows how to set the PP filter being used, or which video preset is being used, please share!

My pics are out of focus as well now. Drives me nuts!

Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT by ABB Creations, SColMODS edit geppo (who collaborated with the following team)
Released after the confirmation message from the ABB Creations team, SColMODS, whom I thank for this...
In this new version, the interiors, which were in really bad shape, have been improved, new upholstery color, body shaders changed, some chrome, yellow headlights added, emergency lights fixed (the side indicators now work too), and many other small aesthetic adjustments... The skin colors are original Alfa Romeo ones from the period (made some time ago).
The physics have remained unchanged.

Really good job! We will ever see a LHD version? 😌

If you are talking about the bare trees, extract the files of the archive inside "assettocorsa\content\tracks\montjuich1975\texture" folder.
There is still a treewall artifact that I'm not able to fix.

I hate these kinds of posts...

Our friend, my friend, @Fanapryde passed away earlier this month from a brain tumor.

He was one of the kindest people I have ever met in the world of SimRacing.
I had the chance to meet him several times over the last few months and I will never forget him.
RIP, he always was a nice member of the community 😢

It's so incredibly sad, you stop and think about what's really important in this world.

The most people here probably don't know each other personally. Nevertheless, you communicate with some people who are essentially behind their nicknames, and behind each of these nicknames, you imagine a person.
Whether they seem likeable to you or share your opinions doesn't matter.
The fact is, you still build a kind of connection over the years with these nicknames, behind which real people with their own lives are hidden.

What am I trying to say? I don't know. It makes me sad every time, and I actually feel as if I've lost at least one of my friends.
I wish the family all the strength in the world.
