Damn straight it was! My first F1 game on the Commodore 64! Ok now I'm really showing my age! 🤣

Ahh... I have played that on MAME... with a mouse. That was a brilliant arcade game. Legendary, even.
It was better with the joystick, hanging on around the corners. That and Pitstop II, such good games.

I had a C64 too. Pitstop II was amazing two-player game. I think Test Drive I came to C64 too but the machine was a bit too limited for that. I even had "Grand Prix Circuit". That was a harcore F1 simulator. Wow the graphics were awesome. :D

It is actually very good. So are 2018 and 2020. 19 and 21 weren't bad, either. 14, 15 were total crap though.

Don't take my word for it. Test them. I guess they're technically abandonwares as it's not possible to buy them anymore.

Oh I've purchased every single F1 game (for the sake of it) and only 2013 and 2020 stay installed on either my PC or Xbox.

But coming back to AC modding, does anyone know a good sound source for a Transit MkI ?

Sebring International Raceway (Raceday) Fast Ai
This is the third release in my Fast AI series, focused on Sebring International Raceway (Raceday).

The track quality and the existing AI are already excellent, but I felt the AI was a little too slow.
So, I've improved them to be significantly faster! Enjoy the enhanced racing experience!

The differences before and after the Fast AI patch are as follows

The test vehicles I used were the ACF LFM LMP2 and GT3. I found no issues in either single-class or multi-class racing.
Please try it out, and if you find any strange behavior or problems, let me know, and I'll fix it! :)
Do you think you might be able to do something with the AI in Double Zero's Las Venturas Street Circuit? In particular the AI when they pit they do their pitstop get to the end of the pitlane and then just re-appear in their pitbox and out of the race. Its a FANTASTIC circuit - probably my favourite of his. Its better than the F1 circuit for crying out loud!!

No F1 game can compete with Auto Racing for Intellivision... a must-have

Only now I discovered it was a colored game. At the time I hadn't a colour TV 👴

Update: Added 100+ liveries since last post. Added an sheet to show what was added each date, You still need to find it in the sheets as i have absolutely no clue how to direct link people to what was added.

Link
Ok, That's everything posted in the GT Planet skins upload section archived, At least as of today.

This one was just agony and pain to go trough cause a lot of skins are just not properly labeled. Are these real? fictional? idk screw yourself find out yourself by sitting and googling for 10 minutes just to find nothing LOL!

Didn't bother adding some of the skins due to this, & NO. i will not go trough this forum section to find an livery to include in this spreadsheet. You'd have to be mentally not there to do that, I might not be mentally there. But i'm not that far gone. So if there are liveries posted on the forum section here, Then those are just existing to my eyes unless i see them when they get posted while looking trough the forum.

:dunce:

I never knew GP Circuit came out on Commodore, only ever played the pc version. I remember there was some challenge where you had to do a 3 lap race and pit somewhere during the race and try to win that way.

I had a soft spot for F1 2010, it just felt right for me, after they patched it.

It's true though... Pole Position was the first groundbreaking driving game. I have MAME emulator and went through all the phases. Outrun, San Fransisco Rush, etc. My older brother told that Pole Position looked mind blowingly amazing back in the day. It had a sequel too, Pole Position II which had "genuine" tracks like Suzuka and Fuji,

I'm 45 and I remember these games vaguely and my brother had a C64 and I've played all those games. I've seen the whole sim racing development from the day one (maybe not Night Rider and Sprint 2 though) but almost from the beginnings. I think there was a big leap in sim racing when those great Geoff Crammond games came... and the another big leap was RF1... and then around 2013-2014 when RF2 and AC came was the third big leap.

There has never been "fourth leap", really. They haven't managed to bring up anything revolutionary to the gameplay which is kinda surprising. Not dissing EVO as it's in the development stage but at the moment it doesn't drive as well as AC1. Not even close.

Even the AI is still quite poor in most sims. LMU ai is half-decent, ACC too... AMS2 is ok but like I said Codemasters F1 AI is absolutely SUPERIOR to any real sim. LMU is a good driving sim but it's RF2 in a drag... so nothing really revolutionary there, either.

The last 10 years there haven't been anything groundbreaking in sim racing (unless you count VR). That's quite strange. But it's not only driving games... FIFA series has gone backwards (it's pure arcade crap), NHL series is stagnant and I've heard new Madden is worse too.

Maybe we have reached the top. I'd say AC1 with AI fixes would be pretty much perfect sim. It has some blatant issues which probably never get addressed. We might never get another "open platform" to mod, either.

But when you look at the beginnings (Sprint 2, Grand Prix Circuit) it's quite amazing where we are now... and what kind of incredible sims we have. At least we are in much better position than say, football fans (with crap FIFA releases). The standard of driving sims is unbelievably high compared to other sports.

Let's hope Project Motor Racing is worth all the hype.

Yeah it was ok. Unfortunately it doesn't work on Windows 11. F12020 is easily the best though. It drives almost the same as 2018, 2019 and 2021 but it has some unexplainable "quality feel" in the graphics and driving that the others don't have. Its position as the GOAT F1 game is well justified. Ironically it has a wrong race calendar (due to COVID) and the Vietnam track that never actualized.

The other day I got an email from RSS that there was an update to their GT-N pack which is two cars the GT-N Protech 96 Porsche and the GT-N Furiano Ferrari. But I already had the GT-N Darche 96. Is there a difference between the Protech and the Darche? I can't see any. Looks like the same specs. Even though it showed I had purchased the GT-N pack I didn't have either one of the Protech or the Furiano in my cars folder.

Perusing through the RSS discord and my oh my some of these guys are borderline insufferable lol
I've not been happy with them recently.

I bought the Callahan (why, I don't know, I bought the VRC and URD ones already) and it comes with a completely f'd up preview preset - with some stupid pit board behind by default and the camera shifted well to the right to compensate. Both CSP previews and standard previews do this.

I messaged them, asking why on earth they did this - as none of their other cars (and basically no other cars in the entire AC library that aren't gimmicky trash) add external elements to previews.

Their one line reply was - unclick "seat belts" and save the preset.

No, I don't want to have to create and switch to an entire new preview preset every god damn time I add skins to this car. How important do you think your cars are?

I said this (much more politely, but pointedly) in my reply. No response since.

I also have paid for each of the LMh cars - and I frankly expect the Lambo for free, as there is now a "bundle" on the RSS page that is a significantly lower price than what I've paid for the other individual cars. I am essentially being punished for being an early adopter if I am not folded into that bundle.

No response on that either.

I have paid for every currently released RSS car and pack - but to be frank, if this continues, I'm probably going to be "finding their mods elsewhere" for the foreseeable future.

I'm pretty sure it just updated the names and pit timers.

So they just changed the name from Darche to Protech? I ran the Protech version just now and some of the AI cars have Darche on their liveries.

The other reason I'm asking is that I have a big skin pack from 2005 for the Darche and was wondering if they would work on the Protech? That would be great if I could just move them to Protech and then delete the Darche I have.

This is probably the best 'Vette C6 Z06 I have tested, just released it today. Perfect handling and car modelling. Maid Cafe makes some serious good mods.

Are you sure you installed it correctly in the first place? From conversations in the past you do seem to get a bit confused of what goes where.

TLDR: All they did was fix the broken pit timer for fuel and tire changes, Updated the UI to be more in line with what they call their current Porsche and Ferrari cars. Nothing else was changed (unfortunately), So yes. All previous liveries will work fine on the new updated version.

Still working on Rouen les Essarts night configuration :

but started to learn Lua sdk in parallel... as much as I discover Assetto Corsa script possibilities, my curiosity was triggered, I want to spend some time to understand why AI issues can't be tackled. A part from the Nuzzi app, I did not find many AI apps, and no open source, maybe that would be a nice project.

Agreed, very talented modder. But a few of his cars have the headlights on by default, which is a little weird. Has anyone ever worked out how to fix this in the config?

I guess so. It's been so long ago I don't really remember. But I do wonder why I only had the Darche and not the Furiano. But anyway the are both in there now.

Absolutely sucks Nuzzi's apps aren't open source or developed collaboratively in any way.

Has seriously hamstrung its development progress.

For Patreon $$$$$$, I'm sure.

The only downside of this name change is that the cars no longer appear in your grid presets if you had made any, so you’ll have to add them all again.

they are planning on doing a more comprehensive rework in the future.

Yeah that stuff is beyond my abilities. I tend to run both of these cars as single make series.
