I asked a few days ago, but got no help. i'm putting out one last plea for help. There has to be someone here who has made a digital_instuments.ini file before that can tell me the proper way to setup the config file to round off a number and eliminate the .0 part. For the pic below, i'm using

[DI_RPM_...]
DIGITAL_ITEM = 6

I want to eliminate the .0 part of the RPM value, but don't understand what to use for the FORMAT part. Every way I have tried has not worked and i'm at my wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Soundbank encryption is actually already a thing.

I forgot exactly which car or sound mod it was, but I remember trying to inspect one recently and it threw immediate extraction errors. It wouldn't even let me preview the engine audio in the CM Showroom. The 'joke' is basically reality at this point.
I heard about it, and did think it was kinda in experimental stage. but yeah I guess its a reality.

Honestly people get too much hurt about nonsense. This is called Assetto Corsa modding, not Assetto Corsa marketplace.

The very same modding based on reverse engineering and editing the game code is fine, using tools that repurpose Kunos tools is perfectly okay, but when it comes to their work they are acting like they are shareholders of this team.

There's people who develop tools to enable freedom, and there's people who want to restrict freedom based on what? "But someone will take my soundbank and bundle it with another mod I don't want that".

Ok but as an end user You prevent me from being able profit from your work with another car I would find it suited. And honestly taking copyright on sounds ripped from youtube onboard? cmon. The guy who would profit from stealing the soundbank and his 500 downloads vs the rest of the 5000 users? doesn't sounds proportional.

The very same modding they benefit from they don't want to return the favor.

And while I understand RSS/VRC/URD encrypting their cars as it is something that can be used elsewhere (converting, selling on turboquid, doing F1 render on blender with that car), the soundbank is just like physics, an essential part of freedom that shouldn't be restricted in Assetto Corsa and something that can only be used in Assetto Corsa. Because if I want to drive a Ferrari LMP with a Ferrari F1 engine, I can. If I want to make the Redbull a downforce monster for fun, I can. That's what Assetto Corsa was all about at the start.

And my work got stolen it's not like I speak out of idealism while ignoring the feelings of people who put lot of efforts creating their mods, I spent countless hours recovering the BMW Sauber 2008 from very old 3DSmax project file, fixing the uvs, assigning the textures and making the model look as good as it is now. All for it to be found here

I didn't fill a DMCA request, just asking to provide the source

There's people who have done an F1 2008 mod for F1 2014, they didn't contact me at first or ask permission or whatever. Same I just asked them to mention the origin of the cars. I didn't DMCA their youtube channel like some team would do when they see their soundbank used in a car that isn't theirs. Because ultimately, there's people who are going to enjoy that work and seeing my work being enjoyed elsewhere is still something to be proud off. But people enjoyment have far been the least worry of some modders in the scene.

And it's not because this happened that I decided to encrypt the 2006 mod I'm gonna release.

Since the day encryption became a thing, it didn't solve anything. People were pushing mods before it existed, and were going to continue to do it because Assetto Corsa is too big of a piece of a cake to ignore, since it existed, its just constant frustration from either side. End user who get punished, and modders who find their mod being ripped nonetheless because people made as a challenge "who can rip this car"

hi joe, have you tried adding "DECIMALS = 0" ? Probably you have, but just in case... I wouldn't know any other way, if that does not work.

Is encryption even worth bothering with any more? Word on the street is the kids now all have the necessary tools to decrypt AC cars and do whatever they want with them, so all encryption seems to be doing these days is locking bad decisions or mistakes behind flimsy temporary barriers.
It just prevents Timmy age 12 from stealing the model, claiming it as his own to sell on his patreon with 2 followers or for someone to steal it and sell it on CGTrader, Sketchfab etc as an "print ready" model.

+ It was just one of Nuvo's requierments when i commissioned it. Which i'm not going to go against :)

try with
DIGITAL_ITEM_NUMBER_FORMAT = 0.
or
DIGITAL_ITEM_NUMBER_FORMAT = 0

Also its not a "drag&drop into CM" car
I always forget about doing that because I manual install everything, specifically due to drag and drop breaking a mod the singular time I attempted it.
I believe it might be much quicker and easier than that now, based on the huge number of decrypted mods that suddenly seem to be popping up all over FB modding groups.
As far as I understand, multiple groups have made CM plugins that just decrypt the model inside CM with a button press now.

I did not try Decimals because it wasn't a listed option on the Git page. I will try it and see what happens.
try with
DIGITAL_ITEM_NUMBER_FORMAT = 0.
or
DIGITAL_ITEM_NUMBER_FORMAT = 0
I think I tried the second one already with no luck, but I could be wrong. When you are trying so many things, you sometime forget what you already attempted. I'll try them again just to be sure.

Reading quite a lot here on the freshly released URD 4 GT3 EVO and indeed, this one I do like best. URD is leveling up with quality alright (Had previous Bayro GT3 v1, v2 and v3, but this EVO is way better, I think.).
Thanks for pointing me to this one. Enjoying it. Although...the blinded exhaust? Minor, I know, but...

It would be nice if you showed us how you got "use CSP for final previews render" to work with 1.79. It does not show as an option in Settings>Content Manager>Custom Showroom for 1.79.
Following closely as my CSP-rendered previews have always looked a bit different than my non-CSP ones. Hopefully we learn something new about it!

I am using Retrolux Previews' preset, if that's of any help.

Dear friends, I'm having a problem with the RT Zolder 1.3 track. I've ridden it for a total of 1000km before, but it suddenly stopped working. I only did one race and then left. Now it won't load. Any ideas?

I deleted and reinstalled the track, but it didn't work.

More Early 2000's DTM cars are on the way. Hope you guys enjoy this mod.

Here's a poser for you experts...
After a long time without a laptop, I've recently acquired a new one with a dedicated Nvidia GPU.
I have AC from nearly 10 years ago, but of course have to start my mod collection all over on my new machine.

I have downloaded Content Manager, Pure and CSP and have the core game running well. I also found a good career mode app using the base game assets.

What would be your top 10 essential tracks and vehicle mods if, like me, you were starting afresh?

So far, I've found a version of the Shuto Expressway and from traxion site, a version of Trial Mountain and Grand Valley Speedway.

In terms of vehicles, I am not bothered about the millions of F1 mods that i know are out there. Coming from GT7 etc I prefer classic vehicles and unusual ones.

Thanks for any tips in advance 👍

What type of tracks interest you? There are hundreds of quality tracks, so narrowing to top 10 will be preference.

Look at Breathe's track list. There is no ranking system for the tracks, but it is a good database for you to find tracks.

I just checked it; it works fine for me... I can't think of anything other than some recent mod or app installation that is conflictive or corrupt, I don't know... I hate when these things happens!

I got it. @Quark67 was on to it, but it needs to be DIGITAL_ITEM_NUMBER_FORMAT = 1.0

Thanks for helping. Appreciate it.

Disable all your installed apps and then try again. If it works, just re-enable the apps one-by-one, to see which one causes the error.

I'm a huge GT fan, so my "essential tracks" would be fantasy tracks that originate from there.

You've already downloaded Trial Mountain and Grand Valley, so you could probably go with Red Rock Valley, Grindewald, Mid-Field Raceway, Tokyo R246 and Seattle (its mod is a bit old though). There are also renditions of modern GT fictional tracks, like Sainte Croix, Dragon Trail and Lago Maggiore, if that might be of interest for you since you said you're coming from GT7.

As far as cars go, Assetto is a gold mine for unusual road cars. With some effort you can find whatever it is you're looking for most of the times, it'll just take some effort and the quality of those mods may vary (Still waiting for a road 916 GTV or a Cerbera Speed Six, alas). If you have something specific in mind, I'm sure the thread will be more than happy to assist you in your research.

I decided not to take too many risks.

The Matra 670C (Kyalami) version, I decided to just adjust (the cockpit), add a new rearview mirror, and put (double headlights) on one of the versions, even though they look strange (see the video).
The other version, from most of the 1974 races (except Le Mans), needs adjusting (a new rearview mirror).

The version (by HSS) is more for adapting (to the 1973 cars).Who knows, maybe they'll make this version......

Are they already available? I'd like to use them. I can't use the '73 HSS mod: it crashes the game at the start of a race...😅😅

I'll see if I can put together the pack of the cars I've tuned by tomorrow.

The Mirage GR7 (BH & Kyalami version) that I modified/tested last week along with this Matra 670C.

If I can, I'll also include the Mirage M9-Renault and the Porsche 936/78 (which I'm finishing tuning) and they'll go to the track next (to test with the other cars) for Le Mans 1978.
