I was really holding out hope for the Stratus or one of the Toyotas or Mazdas, but I'm content with the BMW and Audi, as I would rather have more manufacturer representation as opposed to a second Alfa, Volvo, Honda, Renault, etc.
that is true but we don't have a toyota rep which is why i suggested that. plus another one that didn't get a rep was hyundai with the elantra.

Regarding ambient car body shadows, create a backup first, but try copying the collider.kn5 from a mod where the shadow is showing correctly. I know it sounds weird and I've no idea why it should be the case, but each time I've had this problem in the past, my problem solving always linked back to the 3D collider. Maybe it'll have no impact on newer CSP versions, maybe the underlying issue I had was different, but it's an easy try to see if it works.
Thanks for the tip.

I tried it but sadly it did not work.
I am aware that it can be a lot of things in the csp settings.
Maybe a new csp version will solve the problem (or not).
Csp is like, two steps forward and one step back :boggled:.

such a shame they're the final cars. There is so many hidden Gems in the supertouring cars that need high quality models like the Chaser and JP Honda Accord MK5
It's shame to stop there with the Supertouring car packs but you have to look at the business perspective side sometimes. What I would like to see BTC-T era cars or some good quality S2000 touring cars. These may not be to everyone taste in terms car mods for AC. The problem with making car mods for AC especially VRC supertours is lack of available data online or in paper format which is accurate to use for a mod hard to come by these days.

Excellent video which compares EVO 0.4 to the original AC (in the end of the video)

I've said it all along. EVO drives like ACC with lifeless, numb front end feel. I don't understand why those paid? sim racing Youtube influencers praised it. It's not very good honestly. I just couldn't put it into words as well as this guy (real racing driver).

A preview of the new update (adaptation) for the Porsche 936/78.I used the base model (by Legion)...and the rear of the Porsche 936 (mod by Evolution GTR2).

The rear, from what I saw in photos, is a little shorter and thinner, if we can say so.I decided to (hide the internal structures of the rear) to make the car look more like the real thing.

I changed the position of the mirrors (to get closer to the real 1978 model).

A car in track testing (video uploading)...did a time of 3m34 (70% turbo).
I think it would be better if the car were more (restricted)...I think I'll have to adjust the "differential" better.

Parts of the skins, unfortunately I can't improve them.It would be the Martini logo on top, it's curved, ideally it would be (perfectly horizontal). And the stripes along the car would be straighter, but I don't know how to adjust them (because the skin uses two separate files).

Helmets and driver-suit (in the driver_70_fe standard).
The revised version of the model (936/79), further on.

Models still under testing to complete (historical grids), WMP77 and WMP78.
I need the "74/"75, I need those now...🙄😂😜 (I'm joking of course)😄

Regarding the undercar fake shadows;

In the last preview I had (0.3.0 p140) I was having similar problem - turned out that the 'bake while loading' option was not following what I had set / saved in showroom and re-baking a super weak shadow.

In latest (0.3.0 p212) this option has been moved to assettocorsa\extension\config\tyres_fx.ini and hidden because it obviously is 100% fixed and working.

Worth a try to disable it..

I also have horrible shadow banding since forever, but no ideas of how to fix that :(

to me in-game (and when generating new previews w CSP ) the new black and red skins look quite different :

not intended this way I guess ... :)

I quickly settled on this for the Red skin :
[Material_CarPaint_Chameleon]
ChameleonColorA = #A35420, 0.3
ChameleonColorB = #938824, 0
ChameleonExponent = 2.00
ChameleonCenter = 0
FlakesK = 0.3
ClearCoatThickness = 0.4
FresnelC = 0.12
SpecularMult = 0.25
AmbientSpecular = 0.7
BrightnessAdjustment = 0.8
AmbientSpecularEXP = 0.9
SpecularBase = 0.8, 20
FresnelMax = 0.4

then I get :

And for the black one just remove the ext_config.ini files from the skin folders altogether ,
to get this :

Thank you for that, i'll admit that I didn't test the extra colors before releasing and didn't notice until I tested it myself, I incorrectly assumed the car would've looked fine in game. I'll update that along with the F1 LM later tonight. :cheers:

Is there a decent female driver model for Assetto yet? I know RSS has a female head one the vanilla driver's body, but that bothers me, and I think ports of video game heroines are the only female driver models that actually have female body meshes, though they aren't in firesuits obviously which makes them useless to me. Small detail I know for something you're rarely going to see, but it riles my autism.

I am about as far removed from being a paid Youtube influencer as one could be and while I can agree that there are shortcomings that need to be overcome, AC EVO 0.4 has something very special cooking in the oven.

ACC is already behind where EVO is but I can understand where you draw similarities.

Mr Real Racing driver may not be a paid shill but he is still a Youtuber and to be one of those weird creatures you have to be on the fringes of normal.

Ultimately, we all form our own opinions and arseholes, something, something for courses.

Yes of course it's also very subjective. And some cars may drive better than others.

But do a test. Load AMG GT / Nordschleife in both sims.

Drive EVO first, like 3 laps.

Then load AC1 same Kunos car and track.

It's simply impossible not to see how much more natural feel AC1 still has. At least to me. In EVO you don't feel the car front end much at all, it's very lifeless and sloppy whereas in AC1 when you lose the car, you never have the feeling that "it was the game". It was always YOU. You maintain the superb "road feel" in every occasion in AC1 (sorry for my lack of better words).

Sure the kerbs are always crap with vanilla Kunos, EVO has that done better. And I agree it already feels a bit better than ACC but weirdly it has the same "feel". Can't really explain it properly. I don't like the driving. Hopefully they will get it right but I suspect they simply CAN'T. ACC was a fantastic sim but the FFB was crap... and they never fixed it during the many years development run. Maybe they can't implement it to that whatever new game engine they're using?

Mostly mods are without racing suit and Asian looking, but check

Be prepared as some are rather scary emotionless zombies. :scared:

Agreed and BTC-T was the 2nd type of cars I got to drove from the BTCC in any bloody game. (thanks to Toca RD1 having the 2001 Season) and it would also be a good addition due to the small amount of cars that was built to BTC-T regs. (being around 11 cars roughly)

Putting a 0 behind Enablad2 for [Fakeshadowsfx_baking] did the trick.
The under car shadows are back again. Thank you so much.

This looks so much better.
Now I can enjoy the view while racing along. :):):):):)

Is this the shadow banding you are referring to?
I mainly notice this in cmshowroom.
Haven't found a solution for this either.

TIP: if you delete the line
; hidden
will unhide the option in CSP settings

That also worked.

That's a great tip.
Also for future use with other settings.

All the experts on CSP settings make me feel like a beginner.

I will look if I als have the banding later.
The boss (wife) thinks I have to do something else than Assetto Corsa now.....:ill:

Wow its the same jokers that have been bickering at eachother since 2015 still going at it. Its a real shame theres some people within these groups that are extremely talented and would have gone much further than modding for assetto corsa if they would just shut their mouths and stop acting like petulant children. All too glad I dont work with this lot anymore.

Finally, it works! Now all that's left is to fix the shadow banding, the exaggerated glow of the brake lights and brake discs of some cars, the appearance of the grass, the random crashes, the memory leaks, the problems with previews, the erratic AI behavior...

Joking aside; thanks to everyone for trying to lend a hand and to those who figured it out; it's amazing the happiness that brings to solve a problem like this, with such a simple solution...😁
