Glad its not just me then.

I'm in the same boat, as well. Rank 13 in-game but rank one on all the classes...

Still playing the devil out of Rush, since it's favorite BF game mode. Now that I understand the map and the general paths of it, I'm having even more fun playing.

Found a scopeless rifle in the Scout class (Something M.97, I think.) that absolutly ruins people in CQC and medium range. I'm not that great with distances in games, so this one's right up my alley.

Fun fact: if you roll the tank that has the tracks sitting level with the body of the tank, you can flip it back over just by moving forward/backward. Stole one this way from an enemy and went 21-2 with it!

EDIT: Found the rifle I was using. Gewehr M.95. (I have a very limited knowlege of historic, and even modern weaponry, and by limited, I mean pretty much absolutly nothing.) Use it in close quarters to medium range. Kills have never felt so fun.

I have to end my playing session now. Its a very good game. I really like it. But its impossible to play it with 800-900 ms lag. I don't know if I'll buy it. Because like Black Ops 2, the last multiplayer I bought and played. Its just unplayable because of lag. Just a waste of money. I think I will go back to online multiplayer when I get out of this 🤬 country where simple services like internet providing cost a lot while giving 🤬 ping and download speeds.

Alright, got to download the beta on wednesday. I was really hyped for this beta, but damn, it's super difficult to play. Eihter I'm just too bad at this game, or maybe I just can't adapt to the different "play setting" of the game. I just can't get something done in this game. Sure, the weapons aren't like in BF4 (precision-wise or accuracy-wise), but as I said; I can't quite adapt to it. And, does anyone else think the M1911 is... a bit overpowered? Someone gave me two hits on 100% health and I was killed. Although, I find sniping in this game has become a lot easier for me. On the graphics side, it's one of the prettiest games I've ever seen. The new UI is really nice as well.

My conclusion: I think I'm not gonna buy it at first. Probably trying the game out at my friend's place a couple of times when he gets it at the 21st, and then I'll decide whether I'll buy it or wait until Christmas so I can get it gifted to me.

Anyone else getting premature 'End of Round' screens and the match is still going on when you press pause button? I'm on Xbox.

@Nico_Ble99 Give the medic class a try if you haven't already. That classes starting semi auto rifle is pretty good and accurate.

Really enjoying this so far and have preordered the ultimate edition, I got a notification last night that I'd reached medic rank 2/10 but don't know what that means/does, anyone here know?

The horse is so fun to use in this game, charging through the village area with a squad of 3 horses and slicing people and running them over will never get old, and once you head out of such close combat areas there is a gun which as far as I can tell is a 2 shot kill at all times, maybe a 1 shot kill is possible at very close range with a headshot but I'm unsure.

Yep, pause button seems to cause all sort of problems on XB1, I finally managed to get in to settings to adjust sensitivity just last night but before that I'd be pressing it and it would either kick me to the end of round screen and then after the 60 second countdown allow me back in to the same game, or the pause menu would come up and just not respond to any input. Tried going back in to the pause menu again at some point later and had the same issues again.

Also some times at the end of a round it will put half the players straight in to a new round, while half have to wait through the end of round screen and 60 second countdown, so by the time half of the players are joining the game most of the Conquest flags could already be taken.

1 shot kill is possible from any range with this gun (the people I was shooting might have had low health though I'm not sure) most of the time I find it does 75 damage at medium Ish range. But with the iron sights on it I find it pretty easy to get headshots which kill instantly. It's really fast to reload for a bolt action as well so they are dead before they realise where they are being shot from.

The first game I played was as a cavalry and was on a 24 kill streak when the round ended. I hope they done nerf it for the full game, it is pretty powerful.

Overall I'm massively enjoying this so far, even with it being on a pretty poo map. It looks good, plays really well (more similar to Star Wars Battlefront than BF4) plus it's so nice to play a battlefield game and not being constantly destroyed by helicopters.

I didn't manage to get any 1 shot kills unless they had been damaged but I wasn't really aiming for headshots as at the moment I'm having a difficult enough time just hitting people at mid range while moving on the horse, that might come down to me previously being an infantry only player so I haven't quite got used to shooting at speed. I can definitely see it being very powerful with a more experienced player at the controller, my personal best I believe was a 9 or 10 kill streak while patrolling the F and G flags before getting destroyed by a light tank.

I just kept trying to reconnect. Took a minute or two, but I finally was able to get online.

Decided to try out some of the longer range rifles for the Scout class today; success was few and far between, but I can't anipe for anything, so that was to be expected.

Then I realized how many snipers are acctually on this bloody map! Everywhere I looked: scope glint, scope glint, scope glint...on and on and on...

Most of them couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, but some of them knew what they were doing. A few of the deaths seemed pretty questionable with them, too. I'd be lying prone behind cover, trying to have my heath recover, then somehow a round would go through the wall I was behind and back to the respawn screen I'd go. Head must have been sticking out just a bit, which wouldn't be a problem if we had some decent cover! (DICE!)

I still can't for the life of me figure out how to rank up classes. Hopefully that system gets more explanation or removed completely before launch.

I played a few hours on the 29th (got my code at 9PM-ish PST that night) and a few games the following day, reached rank 18 or so, but servers are unable to be connected to for me since then.

Anyone happen to know what's going on with EA's servers (PS4) for this lately?

Edit: Just so you know the beta downloaded for me in about 8min and my avg download is 290mb/s and upload is somewhere around 35 I believe. Very strange.

The class or weapon ranks are achieved with kills from the weapon, if anyone wonders how to unkock the guns.

PC has the same issue as xbox with the pause, it happened to me a few times that I saw the map, but no markings, no spawns... altf4

So last night I had the weirdest experience ever...noobs do exist...

So I was in the FT-17 charging up to A, encountered some resistance but eventually got into a nice position by the railway tracks. Then, in a desperate Korean war style attack, the enemy began bayonet charging my tank. I'm not kidding. With machine guns, submachine guns, pistols and rifles they charged me and tried to attack my tank (all eating the 20mm cannon mind you :P ). Then they tried using frags, still nothing. It was only when somebody on the team finally had the brains to get on the artillery gun did they do my tank in. It was the saddest thing ever to watch, and I was actually annoyed at them.

I really hope there's a hardcore mode in the full release where bolt action rifles (rifleman ones not the marksman) are one-shot kill, and that SMGs haven their damage and accuracy reduced.

Also WTF Rush? 24 players? Should be at least 32 if not 64 on these big maps.

Played my first few matches today, really like, I'm terrible though it's a bit different from BF4 with the whole less vehicles thing. Any tips, what starter weapons/class is good?

One thing I hear from dedicated BF players is that BF4's hardcore mode is severely broken, and I doubt BF1's hardcore will be an improvement.

Anyone tried the Schnelllader Sharpshooter (medic). It's so lethal. Both on medium to long range.

That is my style of playing sometimes... thanks for the tip.

This happens often, Its because most people have not unlocked the anti tank rocket gun because of the class rank bug so they have no effective way to combat you.

I'm enjoying the beta just wish they would add St Quentin's back in for the end. I like sinai for vehicles but other than that its annoying with most people camping in the town on the roofs between C & D playing a big version of TDM. The game i just played I'm sure half of my team were snipers camped either on the big rock with the arch or the town, Its strange because the way the conquest scoring system works now they have no influence on the game whatsoever.

I am really enjoying the game though just hope they sort the servers out for launch. They said the balance for the Cavalry Health and FT tank are bugged and will be fixed, So if they sort the progression bug and pause menu that would be everything.

Edit - Also I really hope they stop featuring Whiteboy7thst on the main menu. He knows absolutely nothing. They have good knowledgable people like JackFrags, Anderzel and Xfactor and then have him on there talking rubbish.

It depends really. If a player is on a rooftop sniping and actually gets kills, it is usefull for the team. Specially between C and D, since those are the more crowded flags. Sniping people from that position can be very usefull, not only killing people trying conquest a flag, but also, due to how a player's mind works, you are almost "forcing" them to seek revenge on you... while they do that, they won't be attacking flags. They can have influence in the game, if they play it smart.

Annoying things in the game, head glitch behind the cover, where you can't see pretty much anything of their body, just an inch of his helmet, but he can shoot at you... guys in a horse that can stab you when you are two meters away, but then you pass through them or really close to them, and you don't get either a roadkill or a sword kill... and aim assist on consoles.

If it was the old conquest scoring system with the bleeding of tickets I would agree to an extent, But sitting on a rooftop taking potshots isn't usefull and isn't helpful and doesn't constitute as defending. What is useful is getting on the burn and contesting the flag, Not camping so that you infuriate people enough they go to kill you instead.

I always wish that the scoreboard on team games like battlefield only showed points, not kills. That way some people might PTFO.

A system like in Red Orchestra 2would be nice as well, in that game there's a limited number of slots in each team for the snipers and machine gunners etc.

On 64 players games in RO2 there's 2 snipers, 3 machine gunners per team and similair amount for the other specialist classes.

I agree, Would be a great idea. There are meant to be a lot more customisation and option's for server settings in BF1 so hopefully it might be in there. I know server's can limit certain weapons and such so we can hope.

My impressions of the beta are really good. Love the WW1 theme, nice to have a change.

I started on Bad company 2 then bought 3 and 4, loved all of them.

It still very much feels like a Battlefield game which is good but what i'm most impressed with (I'm sure some disagree) but at least for me it just feels 10 times smoother than BF3 and BF4, i loved those games and put well over 60 hours into both but it seemed to run laggy and the general experience just just a little rough around the edges i found, really enjoying how smooth it runs.

I'm not to keen on the train as i think half the team end up sitting in it when it shows up and the map feels empty and also the snipers seem very over powered in this game (could just be the map that suits this) but overall I'm impressed and it will be a day one purchase :)

I think the train is good, If the driver just keeps going between A, D and G it gives you a monopoly on those flags and covers B quite well too. Its so much better and effective than the Airship was in the alpha, But again it very much depends on the driver and how well he can cover the three flags along the railway.

Edit - They have removed the timer for conquest on all platforms, Other than going back to the old conquest system this was the next option.
