I sucked really, really bad tonight. Got owned pretty hard.

Then my last two games, I finally went 26kills + 20kills, with just handful of deaths, both game high.

In the 26kills one, my leg started cramping up really bad(out of shape + basketball). I had to literally take a minute to cry on the floor, then I finished the game from the floor. On my last game, my controller battery died, and I missed a minute there, too. Both times, I lucked out, and didn't die during the timeout.

New target for you then CF, go get the big 30 streak :P highest I've seen of my friends is 36, with myself below them with 34. You can do it Roof_Supporter!

I know it might be late in the day for this, but is it worth me writing a sniper guide? ie covering all aspects of sniping as well as the rifles themself?

It might be helpfull to others. I may be able to help you with it if you want as I mostly snipe and have used every rifle for many weeks.

I did snipe originally, then I started using an assault rifle with markmans type tactics for the most part, then a recent phase of stealth CQB. Now back to sniping

Can you also list your favorite sniping spots? I usually go with 3 frag grenades, and it would definitely help! :p

But seriously, sounds like a cool idea. I know, I'd check it out.

I sent you an invite and a message, but I guess you left. Anywho, I just had an absolutely awesome game that trumps yesterday's 25-1!! Pic will be up momentarily!!

SHAZAM!

also this is my 5300 post. weee!

9 kills away from my best CF, you're catching up :sly:, seriously though well done, takes alot of good tactical decisions to get high kills and 0 deaths.

I'll write a sniper guide today then and post it into the noobs guide to COD4 thread (big resurection coming up :lol) :)

Edit: Done :)
Sorry I went on for a while.

M40A3 + ACOG + Steady Aim = Win.
Yeah I have a friend who's very good with this setup - I'm never that good with it...

I just reached 2.3 K/D ratio last night. :)

I was typing up a guide of my own but it didn't get very far. I'll probably finish it when I get bored next weekend.

2.3's good, but how high do you think your ratio would be, if you started over? :D

I nearly reached 1.65(I started over on Xbox), last night. But for the third time, I hit this impossible wall. Every time I near 1.65, I start to repeatedly drop like a fly. Feels like there's a grenade and bullets hitting me every few steps I take, every time I turn a corner. :ouch:

Edit: Since the 'wall', my ratio's gone down to 1.63.

Im at 2.14 and rising even though I'm messing about these days with different weapons, so I guess my true average is yet to come.

Noob Tube + AK FTW!!!

Had a pretty good run last night, ended up going from level 41 to almost 44 in an hour or so. Got Blue Tiger on the AK-47, and Expert and Marksman I's (WITH THE SAME SHOT) with the R700.

Had an awesome game of Sabotage (I love Sabotage now) on Bog. Went 30 something and 7, also had a game where I was 20-1...but ended up 25-15 :(. Ceiling_Pan and I had a pretty fun muck around the other night too with a FFA on shipment and a mess about on Overgrown.

Im at .97 last I checked. :(
And the noob tube is hard to use but gives my AK better accuracy.

Just have no attachments at all, it works great.

Good few games just now Volcano, Minus and CF. But i was getting lag towards the end (about after my MP5 rampage at the end of a bog game) I was 6-7 when i pulled ou the MP5, finished 18-7 when the opposite team won the game. I was mainly lying in the grass shooting so they didn't have a clue (jammer and silencer).

Dare I say it, Casi (usually gets) o (wned) is actually getting kinda good?

The thing is. I try different combinations. And no matter what I try, I pretty much suck at anything that isn't the AK47 with Stopping Power and Steady Aim, or the R700. So once I get a Red Tiger AK then maybe I'll move onto something else...

try the M16 or M4, you'll have to give each gun a good run as each behaves differently. You might like the 74U SMG to, its an AK of a sort but it packs one hell of a punch for a sub.

Yeah, I went back to using the M16 last night. I used it when I first started playing for ages so am only 50 or so kills from the ACOG and a heap of experience poinntss, so I'll do that then maybe try the 74.

Slump continues..... approaching 1.62 :(

Grenade launcher was really hard for me to learn as well. And I've yet to learn how to properly use the RPGs. Grenade launcher, now it is fun for me. As you are leveling up, it is an great alternative to the three frag grenades.

I agree completely with Dragonistic. Trying new primary guns I think would improve one's game and it is critical that he/she accommodate their game a bit around the new weapon.

My opinion on some of the guns I regularly use(& recommend):

M16:

Pros - As you guys already know, each burst fires just three rounds. Just about every time, enemy will go down after one burst, unless you hit them too low, or the guy has juggernaut perk. With M16, you save a lot of ammunition(because of the three round burst), and you have to reload a lot less. This also means that unless you are really good, you will not need bandolier perk with this weapon. Has very long range, and it is very smooth & accurate.

Cons - While M16 with red dot is hard to beat from distance, it is extremely hard gun to use in close quarter combat. Most of the time, you miss your man with that first burst, and you are dead.

Summary - Great for open maps like Ambush, even Strike, but not so much on Vacant. Just one, or two short burst needed per kill. Will need to keep your target at distance.

M4:

Pros - Long range, full automatic. Very popular 'full-auto' alternative to M16. And I don't know about you guys, but I think it's the best looking gun in the game. :sly:

Cons - No stopping power. If you aim is as noobie as mine, you will damn near empty the whole magazine/clip every time you kill a couple, sometimes just one enemy. If you are half way decent player, you will need to have bandolier, or pick up other weapons during matches. Ammunition go bye-bye real quick with this gun, at least for me!

Summary - Very reliable, very popular carbine. Probably the easiest rifle to learn in the game. All-around rifle, good balance to kill close, or far. Still, not the best gun for close quarter battles, as it lacks the stopping power.

MP5:

Pros - Unbelievable stopping power, very fast fire rate. Because of its size, it ables you to run faster as well. And if you don't have red dot, MP5 has one of the easiest open sights(great for silencers).

Cons - While it has nice range, it is still a submachine gun. You can easily kill enemies from distance with this gun, but only if you cut the burst very short. It is no match against real rifles in longer distance fire fight, but that is the only con of this gun I am aware of.

Summary - If I wanna kill close, this is it for me. Only gun I've tried that features this much power, accuracy, fire rate. Also, only gun that I trust when I run into shotguns in Vacant(backpedal while firing).

Coincidentally, my favorite primary weapon changed in this order. I started with M16, then M4. My current primary-primary is MP5. I've also had luck with guns like P90, AK47, AK74u, etc., but not really enough to stick with them for extended period of time. Anyways, I'd highly recommend these three guns. :)

The Skorpian is the only gun I can never really get the RDS to work for me on. Every other gun I find the iron sights much better. I see sooooooooooo many people with the MP5 it's not funny, but I can't get it to work for me.

The M16 is good as well because it has quite a fast reload time as well, which is good for me because I reload after every kill out of habit. For this reason though I struggle with the LMGs because I forget that I can't.

The G3 is a pretty good and I think underrated gun too with you equipe Stopping Power, and you've got a fast finger trigger.

Skorpion w/ ACOG was my favorite combo for HQ matches, I really don't know why, but I was really good with it.

Chris.
