The L3 and R3 knobs are pretty good (I know there are better) in terms of moving and aiming, they do the job well.
Besides, after some practice, it's intuitive and you barely think about it.
And there was a post on this very forum about an accessory for the PS3, with a mouse. Of course it's more accurate, but with experience, the difference is smaller than you might think. Of course, it all depends on the game; I've played Resistance for months and never felt I was as good as I can be on this game. To my standards of course.

I've clocked the rankings last night, it sucks to be left with almost anything to use like you were already used to. I had forgotten that you can't even use the Create a Class to begin with...


But I've discovered my new favourite weapon, one that I don't think has even been mentioned here: the G3.
It has very good power, it's amazingly accurate and although single shot, it quick-fires very fast and with almost non-existant recoil. Plus, it's ultra-light, which allows you to run faster and for longer stretches.
I started to used it yesterday and before I knew it I already had the '150 kills' with it. Coupled with the RDS it's a killer piece of weaponry.

And just before I clocked the rankings I also got one of the challenges I never thought I would: killing an enemy while he's in mid-air.
But some of the 'Elite' challenges seem to me almost impossible, like a 1 in a million chance of getting either of them done...

Beerzgood I noticed last night you went into prestige mode, how is that treating you? I still can't bring myself to start prestige mode, I want to use more of the guns and complete more challenges before I trade it all in for some silly little symbol.

Well, it's less frustrating now than it was right at first.
You lose the challenges, your weapons, their attachments, your favourite perks...
But I'm getting it all back slowly (though a lot faster than the first time). The first matches were pure torture though. I had to use either an M249 SAW, which has tremendous fire-rate but inflicts little damage, or a stock M16. Create a Class was not available then an I had to use stock Classes, that have lousy combinations of weapons and perks.

I now already have 2 Classes created: M16+RDS+Stopping Power, and RPD+grip+Stopping Power+Bullet Penetration. They're getting me there.

Can't wait to get my hands back on the G3. It's so sweeeeet! I find it awesome even at long distances with the RDS, I'm 10x more of a sniper with it than with any other, sniper rifles included. Best accuracy ever.
Speaking of that, what are your thoughts on the G3 and the MP44?

I never really used the G3, only a couple times from picking it up I agree the acccuracy is very good with it and it is pretty powerful but I am more of a assault rifle man. As for the MP44, I have started using it lately and I love it, ok rate of fire but it is very powerful, one of the strongest Assaults in the game. The only problem I have with it is no RDS or ACOG with it so at a distance it is a bit harder but good in closer combat I find.

I'm not sure I want to do prestige mode. All of the badges look like crap except for 8 and up.

Yeah, the MP44 would be DA BOMB with an RDS. The recoil is pretty acceptable for it's high power. I find it strange that it is the only weapon of the game that doesn't accept attachments. You can fit an ACOG on a Mini-UZI and an ACOG on a sniper rifle, but absolutely nothing on the MP44...


So, what are your most used weapons nowadays, mighty killer?

Me, I am mainly sticking to four main setups:
-M4 with ACOG, ClaymoreX2, Stopping Power, and Martyrdom
-Barrett.50 Cal With Brandolier, Stopping Power and Iron Lungs (if the map is good for sniping)
-P90 with RDS, Double Tap, and Martyrdom
-M16 with RDS, Claymore X2, Stopping Power and Martyrdom

But the weapons I use really depond on how I am doing in previous games and what the map is.

Word. I kind of want to keep my brigadier general star. That, or have one of the prestige mode badges with a Captain badge on top.

Anyway, my armory looks like this:

Perks: Extra frags or stuns, martyrdom or last stand, and I stay Juggin.

-P90 silencer [Digital] + USP silencer
-M16A4 RDS [Digital] + Desert Eagle
-M60E4 RDS [No Camo] + Deagle
-G36C RDS [Digital] + Deagle
-R700 Stock [No Camo] + USP silencer / Claymores.

I'll see how I like to Barret 50cal when I unlock it. Basically, I use the P90 for stealth, I use the M16 for medium to long range combat, I use the M60 for heavy juggin' on smaller maps, and I use the G36C for medium range combat where you need to lay down more constant fire. I'll use the G36 instead of the M16 on the Assault map, for instance.


and yes, I know I need to get a headset.


edit: Sorry, beerz, but I'm not going to kill my K/D ratio by playing 4 on 6 against a clan.

No problem, I thought you were kicked out by the server. It was the Bog match, wasn't it? We actually went above 60pts on that one. I t was close until the last minute, but somehow they went from 620 to 750 in less than 50secs. And during those 50secs I kept respawning almost in front of their barrels and died 4 times. Unbelievable...
Interesting combos you use. I prefer the R700 to the Barrett .50, although still won't change the fact that I'm the worst sniper ever to play this game.
And yeah, I saw icelt online and invited him to join us.
