Thats never happened to me but I have heard of it happening. Apparently the killcam for that is weird.

I've had this before, confused the hell out of me!

I've never got a message about being a camper as I tend to run around like a hyperactive child at Laser Quest, even when sniping, but I have messaged someone before telling them to stop camping.

He was sat on the roof of Grandma's House and popping up every now and then to snipe people from one side of the roof to the other, and he didn't move for the entire game. As soon as he got killed, he made it back there and got back up on the roof. He replied to me with "It's not camping, it's sniping"

What a moron. A good sniper will sit in one place for a little while but then move to another location so as not to reveal his position too easily!

And a good sniper will never skyline themselves either. I love the guys on the rooftops of Overgrown (at which I have a lovely sniper position I try to make it to as soon as possible).

I just think that sometimes people just hate the fact that you are playing the game differently then how they like it to be played.

I think most of it has to do with that. 👍

I class camping and sniping as two different things - campers just sit about and wait for you to come to them, not helping their team at all. Snipers overlook as much of the map as they can from one spot - so they're both able to see and, sadly, be seen - and take out opponents who do the same thing to help their team. Snipers are vital to a team, whereas campers are just selfish.

I was actually moving about quite a lot, just in the same single area of the map (the bridge - which isn't my favourite sniping spot on Wet Work) and you don't get 22 kills in a HCTDM by being a coward.

I actually sent him a message back. It said "cheesecake".

Nice response. On camping though, at least this camper will have to disagree. I could say same thing about some of the run & gun'ners I sometime see. They run around, racking up something along the lines of 8 kills and 23 deaths. To me, that's selfish. When I camp, you'll rarely find me in a deserted building. I go for the busy traffic area, doing some efficient killing for the team. If I ran & gunned, I'd be that 8 & 23 guy. I suck. I'll never be that guy who can consistently get 20, 30 kills. Maybe on a reeeeaaallyeeee good day. But I probably average 10 - 18 kills, usually finish 2nd, 3rd on the team.

I got a message from some kid (i presume) just the other night accusing me of camping. I wouldn't have minded so much if that had been the case, but it was on 'Vacant' and i'd just spawned into the big room with all the computer cubicles when the phone rang.

You are going to have to show me how to get the phone to ring on that map, sometime. j/k Hey, even if you weren't shooting, camping is camping. Welcome to the club!

I hate martyrdom.

But only when it's used by people on my own team who are sniping. I mean what's the point? When you die, it's going to be by a cross-map shot and you're going to drop a live grenade in your sniping spot alongside a teammate.

When I am killed sniping, most of the time, it's a guy who's on a mission to hunt me down, spot me for a close kill. And it happens so often that I have contemplated martyrdom before.

P.S. Sometimes, I'd like to surprise the guys who come looking for me. Overkill with P90. Muhahaha!

I think I've only ever sent one "Bad Message", but I was justified in doing so by calling him a something something cheater, he hacked his controller with a rapidfire mod.

You gotta be careful on that one. There are players who are capable at firing at crazy rapid rate. Very good friend of mine, he taught me a two finger triggering trick using the index & middle finger. I've used it, and even I can fire at near full automatic speed without any practice. Only reason why I never use it in a game is because I can't manage to do that, and track/aim my target at the same time.

I can track them but not very well. I will shoot damn fast and have been accused of a rapid mod before but I really can only use it when they are slightly to the side, dead in front or in a perfect line of fire a long way away. I can shoot fast but like everyone there is a limit to how well you perform shooting that fast.

This is probably why I have success with pistols, only when the target is straight on. If he start strafing, forget about it!

Sorry, another story:

I was playing TDM on crash today. Yes, I camped. As soon as the match ends, the other team start calling me out, "a6m5... zeke, you camper!", etc. etc. They get nastier as they went on, when clearly, there were plenty of camping from both sides.

Next game, of course I end up on their team. They are still crying. But on the wetwork boat, I'm running & gunning. Guess who I catch camping on the frigging boat, LYING DOWN. The louder of the two who was calling me out! I turned around, started shooting at him(he's on my team), but I was gunned down by the other team right away. Shucks.

At the end of the game, I'm first on my team, feeling a bit redeemed..... then I hear that same kid calling the other team "bunch of campers".

Yeah, getting 80 points for your teams is no use at all if you're giving 230 points to the opposition.

I'm pretty quick on the trigger as well, I can usually empty my deagle in well under a second when the situation calls for it (7 shots). I don't use any special technique, just normal trigger pulling but very fast which means I can still aim at my target just as efficiently as shooting slowly. This is particularly formidable at close range which is why the deagle is my pistol of choice when not going stealthy, I often choose my deagle over my assault rifle at close range because it's simply more effective with the deagles massive power.

Thanks, I don't play alot I think I've played one game in the past 2 months (which I was MVP in funnily enough) which was Bog Sabotage, I got around 40ish kills for 12 ish deaths IIRC. I do remember I was actually on 7 for 7 whilst I was still adjusting, then kicked it up a gear and went on some sprees. The game went to sudden death and I was wasted quickly by pure bad luck, but I'd just called in a chopper so my team went on to win with it's support and some general good play.

Unfortunately, I may have removed you from my friends list, nothing personal I just had to get under 50 because of GTA only supporting the first 50 friends, so anyone new who I added was never showing up.

AGH don't get me started on those guys who go round getting as much XP as possible but causing your team to lose. I've finished games on scores like 12-2 sometimes and been called 'crap' by my team-mates who were on something like 20-24. You can't even explain to these people that not getting killed matters just as much as killing others.

In fact even moreso. A great team tactic is to kill a teammate on Last Stand (especially if he's dispatched the guy that killed him) - because the -10 you get isn't taken off the team score and the opposition don't get 10 for killing him.

I thought it only took it off the team score, not your XP? Can you really lose XP and go back down the levels then if you tried hard enough?

I'm pretty sure he was using a hacked controller though, he fully unloaded his deagle over twice as fast as a P90 with double tap on!

On another note I spotted a guy in a room using a GTP clantag, I can't quite remember his name but I sent him a PM and he never replied. Does anyone use the GTP clantag or do you just don't bother with tags at all? I know I don't even bother with a clan never mind the tag.

Don't worry about me. Say I was team high in kills, but went something like 24-20, I am kicking myself. Oh, I still get scores like that all the time, just didn't mean to.

You could, in theory, go below the threshold values but I doubt you'd unrank...

I used a GTP tag for about a month and then I just stopped using it and now I use my regional tag. Because I'm from Australia I put either AUS, /\us, AUS* or my actual state, QLD*. Im using the QLD* one now.

I was doing OK for awhile, then I just went through one of those streaks, where no matter what I try, I die. I've cried about it in this thread before. Claymores, grenades, slow/fast, defensive, offensive, it doesn't matter. It did get funny at moments, because I kept on getting surrounded by at the very minimum of three guys. It was puzzling how I ended in the middle every time. But overall, we did alright. And as you mentioned, we somehow managed to receive decent connection.

Do you ever have games where you seem to constantly spawn right in front of an enemy or right underneath a granade or airstrike constantly? I had one of those last night. It was one of those games that you join mid-game and just didn't know what hit me. I think the game ended about a minute later with me on a 0 - 0 -8 ratio

Well PSN always used to support 50 friends, it was then upped to 100 however lazy R* did not patch there friends systems so on both Midnight Club LA and GTAIV it gives priority to the first 50 friends added in time order and then just cuts everyone else off.

However, you're in luck! I have 48 friends as it stands giving you a free spot and there's inactive people I can remove to balance it out
