When you are playing with strangers(......?), I think mic only helps when you have a initiator who takes kind of a command role. Just about every game, mic is used to talk the dumbest, racist smack, just arguing about nothing. Like I said a day or two ago, calling each other campers(both teams), when both sides camped plenty. Even amongst teammates, it's mostly "get out of my, dude!", or "stop stealing my kills!".
But when a capable person takes lead on the mic, rest of the team does tend to get motivated by it from my observation.
I gotta tell you, when I first started playing CoD4, on PSN, I fell in love with this one guy.
He sounds really southern, and I thought he was black, but thinking back, he could've been really backwoods white dude also. Really strong southern accent.
On our first encounter, he started talking to me when I was camping in a deserted section of Strike(I was new, Famine!). It was my first time....... a stranger actually talk to me on online gaming. He just kindly suggested that we gotta get going to where the action was.
Months later, just as I was getting over him, I hear his voice in the District! He fully took the lead of our team, brought us back. He even warned me "eay six emu five zeero, there are two guys around the cor", as I was getting gunned down. But I didn't care! I found him again!!
As soon as the game ended, I tried to find his name to send him a friend request, and that's when he said good bye, and he was gone. Will I ever see him again?
Do you ever have games where you seem to constantly spawn right in front of an enemy or right underneath a granade or airstrike constantly? I had one of those last night. It was one of those games that you join mid-game and just didn't know what hit me. I think the game ended about a minute later with me on a 0 - 0 -8 ratio
Occasionally, but not very often. But I do sometimes encounter choppers loaded with only my name on every bullets onboard. I don't think I've been hit with a rocket yet though.

I also cant believe I managed 7 assists. I would have ended up with a few more kills in one of the spots on a map that I cant remember. The proble mwas that all the kills went into last stand and the noob on our team was spraying RPD and took everyone of my kills. I have never ever gotten 7 assists, absolute rubbish.

Not seven or anything, but I'm sure I was getting more assists than most point guards. Yes, the last stand dude, "Krau" something or rather, he was getting on my nerves with that.
Yes, just wanted to get a bit more used to everything, still not used things like Claymores properly.
Claymores!? I still haven't fully figured out how to use the C4s.
But overall, we did alright. And as you mentioned, we somehow managed to receive decent connection.
