I still like a few of the single player missions but when it comes to multiplayer there are three other games I could be playing. I might play it again with you if you asked really nice but I'm telling you at least rent black ops. I'm so tired of getting walked on because I'm playing solo with a bunch of guys that are going 3-20.

I had forgotten all about it, but in CoD4, many times, I've seen one good player from a bad team(like most guys going "3-20") get picked up onto the winning team. The match making do this to the team that was just blown out. And they almost always fill the spot left open by that one good player with a chevron striped noob.

Truly mind-boggling.

On Black Ops, what makes you think I'm gonna be of any help? I'd be another "3-20" noob teammate!

Just started playing it again myself

Took a while to get back into it after so much MW2, but loving the old maps and lack of O.T.T. killstreak rewards.

I'd forgotten how much more acurate you need to be when aiming compared to MW2's generous hit markers. It's especially obvious when using a sniper rifle. You actually have to be aiming directly at an enemy in your scopes to hit them!!!

For the same reason, it also makes the adition of a ASOG scope to an assult rifle a worth while option too 👍

I'll keep an eye out for fellow GTP'ers next time i'm on. Shame the ability to just join friends lobbies is a part of CoD4 as it is MW2

What kills me is the host ending games early(rage quit). When I'm in CoD4 match, I always see if I'm the host, if I am, I don't care how badly I'm getting beat, I take the responsibility quite seriously.

I don't know about sniping in CoD4 though, Dan. I find it much easier in this game. Not much to do with accuracy, but in other two Call of Duty I played(WaW & MW2), I couldn't get one shot kills. It feels like CoD4 snipers have more stopping power to me.

I know we lag pretty badly when we hook up, but feel free to invite me if you see me on. I'll at least give it a shot, see how long I last.

I've just about had it. I get to Prestige 4, level 55, last night. I figure I'll get to prestige within an hour, tonight. Thanks to bunch or children hacking, it's been almost three hours, and I still haven't gotten enough XP to prestige!

I curse all the hackers in the world. With their viruses & hacking, they waste so much of people's times & money, I hope something really horrible happens to them. Can you tell that they've worn me down?

I just want to play, but I can't.....

Edit: Well, it took an unexpected turn of events.

So I get back on & start playing. I go 19-1 in a match I joined in mid-game, I accumulate enough points to prestige.

Level 5 prestige, a slow start, but level 4(rank) in the first match. I get in the second game, again, it's hacked. Little different about this one though. One guy go flying in the air, I swear many times, get off the lobby. Uh-oh, little message box on the corner that usually tell you to visit infinityward.com reads something along lines of you was visited by blah, blah, blah....., check out my youtube vid, and oh, I'm level 10, gold cross prestige. I turn off the router, reset the PS3, but I'm still a gold cross.

Make the matter worse, I'm stuck at level 4, I think it said I needed 9999940 points to level up to "5" or something like that. I swore a lot again. Take a deep breath, I go in again. After one match, just about everything is now unlocked, and I'm level 55(still gold cross). I still want to throttle the child that did this to my account, but I feel a bit better about not getting stuck at level 4, permanently. There are few more weird things that was done to my account, but it's too much to list.

My major beef is now my kill-death ratio reads 1.16(I think). This is on my "a6m5zero" account, which I learned to play FPS on. Even so, my k/d hasn't been that low since the beginning. Before the hack, it was 1.57, and 2.5-ish on my new account. I hate hackers.

Not played for a few days now, but can't say i'd come across that level of hacking. The only thing that did seem strange at the time, and now i realize it must have been a hack, was about a week ago. I started playing, but the first three games i entered appeared to be running at 2x speed. I quit out of those games pretty quickly and by the time i'd joined a 4th lobby everything was back to normal. I'm thinking i may steer clear of CoD4 for a while until they all get bored, or it gets patched. Shame though, i was really enjoying it again.

I haven't ran into any modded lobbies, but I'm also on the 360. Don't look too hard for a patch for a game that is that old, they haven't even patched up the pile they put out called MW2 yet...

I'm not gonna lie, I am not happy with the hackers, Infinity Ward, Activision, or PSN. I highly doubt that on XBL, you see the same level, or abundance of hacking as I've encountered playing CoD4 on PSN. Of course, there is that pay vs free thing, also we are talking about games that people no longer play.

Black Ops, I have zero interest in right now. Heck, I have zero interest in Modern Warfare 3 at this time.

One of my coworker tells me something similar. He has lots of guys from work who plays with him. But he still recruits me, because I'm the only one who's half way decent. Other players we have at work, you might refer to them as FPS-challenged.

Have you played CoD4 on the 360? PlayStation users have it good compared to the Xbox. There are way more, blatantly obvious hackers on the 360 than I've ever encountered on the PS3. That's one of the main reasons I stopped playing with my friends on the 360 and started playing solo online on the PS3. There are way more hackers on the 360, in my personal experience.

This is probably a lot of the reason I have not touched Black Ops in weeks. It gets tiring getting stomped because at least four of your five teammates cannot get close to breaking even on K/D, especially when I am not usually good enough to put lots of pressure on the other team and carry my team.

We did have it too good in MW2. Even in a much smaller group on XBL with nk4e, random1self, breakpoint, plus my real life friends, coworkers, it was a blast. Now, on PSN, I have never played with so many people, especially that all-star team we put together. Good times!

Well, it's changed now. I also played a lot of CoD4 & MW2 on XBL. I don't know if you read about my account getting destroyed, but last couple of weeks or so, hacking's been getting worse & worse. Last night, literally over 80% of the matches were unlimited ammo(people rapid firing grenade launchers), or sped up matches where when you ran, you are like a half way across the map.

What 🤬 me off so much is that these hacks are completely pointless. These dumb kids just spam grenade launchers until they hit something. They just sit there, pulling on the trigger. I know that they must be idiots, and are really young kids by the way they play. Sitting & pulling on the trigger.

I'm already tired of GT5 to. I like black ops, and my K/D is over 2.0 already, but my win ratio is barely over 1.0. I play to win even if I'm not always MVP so when I constantly get owned because of my team I just don't want to play any more.

I have even thought about going back to the older games just incase anyone wanted to play, but I know if I go back to MW2 I'll just end up raging about the same old stuff. This is why I'd really like you to get black ops. Hell I'd even pay for you to rent it.

Anyway I dunno maybe I'm just in a big slump. I've had some good games in black ops so its not like I can't do it still.

As far as the hacking goes, have you read about how the PS3 has been hacked? Apparently some assholes figured out how to do it and they say even a firmware update won't fix what they did. Its really disheartening.

I have yet to play GT5 since getting it on Christmas. I have installed it on my PS3, but have not played it. I recently bought a new laptop because my old laptop's video card is on it's last legs and prior to starting to fizzle out, the old laptop was useless for anything other than checking email and browsing the internet. My new laptop will handle virtually any game on Ultra settings and I have been messing around with games on the new laptop instead of playing anything on the PS3. I may get around to some GT5 this weekend.

It also does not help that this time of year is when TV shows have new episodes and cut into my free time after work when I would otherwise be playing video games. Further, between owning OU men's season tickets and the Thunder continuing how well they played last year, my free time after work normally playing video games is further reduced watching basketball. Not that I am complaining, I really enjoy watching basketball; but between watching quite a few TV shows and basketball, a lot of time I would be playing video games is lost.

I have some complaints about Black Ops also, but am not going to get into them at this time.

Exactly what mods are you running into? I can mod gpd files, and dvars and such so I know when people are modding and not. I play everyday on 360 and I haven't ran into a single modded lobby in about 2 years...

As I've been playing CoD4, going for the gold cross, it's been the other way around for me. Backlogged on Blu-rays, Netflix, and you know the state of my basketball team.

My win ration in MW2 was better I think. Still I have only been noob toobed twice the entire time I've played the game so that kinda makes up for it. In MW2 you could get toobed twice in the same game before you even got a kill.

I'm sure they will be, all it takes on the PS3 to mod is notepad and a usb stick:tdown: The file system on the 360 is much more secure, and no I'm not a "fanboy", I'm just stating the facts. I will hopefully have a PS3 within the next 2 months:tup:

The PS3 used to have far less issues with mods. You used to only hear about this sort of crap happening on the 360. Now that the system seems to have been cracked however its probably going to be even worse than the 360 was/is.

I watched that video earlier btw. Gunns has been like a crying little girl about BO and treyarch recently so I left a comment saying he should go play a treyarch game because no one wants to hack those because they're not IW games.

This guy is my white brother. He said exactly what I felt, plus, how these hackers has ruined truly one of the greatest FPS of all-time. I don't believe in black magic, voodoo or anything like that, but as I was going through all those hacked lobbies, I really wished something horrible happened to those dumb children(I refuse to recognize them as adults).

This vid made a really valid point for me. This truly feels like how there was this beautiful park, museum, something like that. These kids came in, started gang violence, dealing drugs, dumping waste, whatever else you can think of, and ruined the place for everyone.
