The small brandnew company Carice Cars based in Delft, Netherlands has introduced a small electric roadster, but more than its nice design, the positioning and product are interesting. After the Portuguese Ferrari we have now also the Dutch Porsche.

The official presentation took place on the Apeldoorn Concours d'Elegance on 2014, 21 June.

This is the very first Carice (hence the designation), a electrical Dutch convertible with retro lines inspired by the Porsche Speedster 550 and 356.

The body of Carice Mk1 is entirely made of plastic which obviously help the overall weight down. Put the solar beater on the scale and the needle would indicate less than 350 kg (including the battery pack). Other sales strengths? An ideal 50:50 weight distribution and the fact that only Carice 10 Mk1's will be build.

You have it with 20 or 54hp and there's even a Junior Version 5.4 HP (16 year olds) without driving license. The Dutch company requires at least € 26,620 per copy (including taxes), and there are more euros in if the buyer wants, several battery packs are available as well as a range-extender in the form of a small gasoline engine or even a hydrogen version will be offered.

Few information on the specs of this Carice Mk1 but an important one about weight: 350kg only (battery included) for this little roadster! This advantage allows it to provide sensations announced as comparable to those of a sports car with little power.

It's a little strange but I like it so much I'd buy one just for the nostalgic looks.

It would be funny watching this drive past without the sound of a German boxer purring along.
