I just read the article and it said 800 cars will have no interior. Don't know what that means but where is everybody getting there only 200 cars with cockpit view i did not see that part. Even at the end they said the cockpit view in 3D is going to be sweet so saying that he could of said 800 cars will have no cockpit view, however he said no interior.

Jesus Christ... Interior and cockpit is the same thing! At least it used to be, before that interview was posted...

People believe what they want.

I hope every car has interior/cockpit, but seeing how things are going, we'll get an Inconsistent game in the car model area :guilty:

IMO something is wrong with translation even the porsche part if i came on here posting porsche is in the game people automaticly would call me crazy. Before E3 someguy wrote that we were not going to get an a official video from PD and as usual the gullible cry babies on this forum went into a rage they even started a thread about. What happened after that everybody zipped ther mouths because that person was WRONG. All im saying is there will be a cockpit view for all cars some will just feature better visuals. I cant wait til this solved so i can laugh. :)

"hopefully catching them at just the wrong moment so they make a mess of the next corner and dump their Porsche into a nearby tree."

Porsche! Anyone?

Kaz said in a previous interview that there is not one single bit of reused code or anything else in GT5. They threw everything away and started GT5 from scratch. Nothing will be upscaled. 👍

Can you link to that cause I remember it saying something else.

hopefully catching them at just the wrong moment so they make a mess of the next corner and dump their Porsche into a nearby tree

seems at bit wierd they know porsche wont be in the game?

No way, that statement has to be false.

800 cars without interior views is like the game only having 10 tracks.

Ok, I'll let you believe so. I'm not the one who will be disapointed and go "WTF!?"
on November 2nd...

No Prob bro you guys make laugh i bet you were one of those same people that said GT5 was going to have only 20 tracks.

Now, that I don't believe. After all, the translator guy was present, wasn't he? 1000 with top notch interior just ain't gonna happen I'm afraid.

Was he there when everybody was crying when we herd 20 location and 70 variation. Right away everyone said GT5 had only 20 tracks.... Wrong cant wait to laugh again

How do you know we'll get more? I hope you define, for example, Nürburgring as one track, and not Nürburgring 24h, Nürburgring GP and Nordschleife as 3 different tracks.

Road Courses

Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe
Daytona International Speedway
Top Gear test track
Eiger Nordwand and Eiger Nordwand confirmed extended
Fuji Speedway F & GT
High Speed Ring
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Nurburgring GP-Strecke, Nordschleife, & 24h
Suzuka Circuit & Suzuka East Course
Tsukuba Circuit

Oval Tracks
Daytona International Superspeedway
Indianapolis Motor Speedway

City Tracks
London Short and confirmed Long
Madrid

Tokyo Route 246

Snow/Dirt
Tuscany
That classification of tracks at E3 confirms at least 1 snow track
No way the game has only tuscany as dirt, so let's say 2 other DIRT

let's agree this is not supposition, just very logical even though we don't know yet, that gives 21 tracks
Next question

here: http://nzgamer.com/ps3/previews/862/gran-turismo-5-eyes-on.html things are different:

As Kazunori began speaking, aided by a translator, we learnt that Gran Turismo 5 would have over 1000 cars in its tally. Over 800 of which fall into the standard cars list, offering casual through to sports car models, many of which make a welcome return from previous GT games. The other 200+ are premium model cars, each one beautifully recreated from the engine outwards to satisfy any petrol-head.

Although all of the cars are perfectly modelled, the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail that the standard cars don't. For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors and the standard cars aren't designed to take structural damage in crashes. Asking why this was the case, Kazunori honestly replied that it was simply down to the painstaking amounts of time it takes to re-create them all. When you see the level of detail, it's amazing they were able to do even 200 of them.

fully recreated and damage for premium.

less detail and no damage for standard.

As I expected, cars all have a similar level of detail in terms of what is visible and not hidden under the metal. However, structural damage means parts falling off, but we could still have deformation on those standard cars without exposing inner components (like the Evo X in the most recent E3 trailer), right?

What he said, an awful lot of people are going to end up with egg on their faces.

That's 19. I thought you said there were more than 20?

Hahaha you are the best yes thats 19. Lets use common sense though do you think we seen about 99% of the tracks in game Cmon man i know your smarter than that.

Now that makes a lot more sense! Still not a 100% clear I think, but we're getting there.

The effusively polite CEO of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, insists: He should’ve made Gran Turismo 5 for the PlayStation 4.

Gran Turismo 5 will be revealed in full detail at GamesCom in August. But that doesn’t mean Polyphony didn’t show up at E3 with a raft of details to share with incredibly patient fans who’ve been waiting a long time for the Sony exclusive.

In a small private room, Kazunori shared those details with us.

There are over 1,000 cars in Gran Turismo, more than 800 standard cars and over 200 premium cars. These include the vast majority of cars in all previous Gran Turismo games, including GT for the PSP.

All cars include physics-based damage modelling and will suffer from body scratches, dents and dirt.

Premium cars have been designed in absolutely painstaking detail: In addition to the standard damage modelling and exterior deterioration, these cars have been built so that they can come apart panel by panel. Their interiors can be navigated. Due to the inclusion of rolling physics, the undersides of all premium cars have also been lovingly replicated. It’s here that Kazunori insists that he’s found the PS3’s limitations.

this is only a quote that I found on an italian forum.. can't find the real source!!

Wow, great info! But please do find the source, since some over-excited people have unfortunately got a bit carried away with some announcements. If this is actually an interview, then excellent news and just like I expected :).
