PD would neither set the prices nor receive the income directly. SIE does, for both.but I think PD needs the money

You'll keep getting games that are dreadful at full price if the standard is charging $50 to get qualifying added to a racing game three years after launchIll pay the equivalent of a new game for this. Any idea how many racing games Ive purchased at full price only to be disappointed and stopped playing after a few hours?
Are you saying the answer is to take up euchre? I found something that gives me great value and Ill pay $50 after 3 years of constant free content to keep it going. iRacing is the only other game that is providing the value in entertainment that I'm looking for but it doesn't come close. You'll keep getting games that are dreadful at full price if the standard is charging $50 to get qualifying added to a racing game three years after launch
Kaz likes the PP alliteration, it seems. Also I keep forgetting to bring up the name "Power Pack" for this is so weird. I dunno who came up with it but it doesn't seem to fit Gran Turismo or the content in any way. My first thought when I saw the name was a car pack maybe.
I dunno. Just keeps bothering me and not sure why they chose this. Like the expansion pak for the N64. Rumble Pak?
The game is 3 years old mate. I rather pay a bit and get what I want for one of my favorite games instead of whining about a few $$$. Pretty sure I am not the only one who sunk 1000s of hours into this, which equals to a few cents per hour? You'll keep getting games that are dreadful at full price if the standard is charging $50 to get qualifying added to a racing game three years after launch
No idea where you are seeing this. Can't believe that I am the first to spot the GALANT 2.0 DOHC Turbo VR-4 '89. Or the first to mention it. But the picture of it appeared in this thread and not in the GT7 news thread, so sorry if this comment belongs there. It was a decently fun car in GT4.
I too got lots of time remaining at work, December come at meAlso making players pay for qualifying DLC in a racing game is shameful behaviour from PD
What makes you believe this content was ready at launch?Power pack….😐 we couldn’t be bothered to include these to you at launch but here, we present it to you for an undisclosed price at 3 weeks away. ?
Why no price so close to update?
Wonders why everyone speculates about the price.Standard now gets 750,000cr ($9.99), and Digital Deluxe gets 2,000,000cr instead of 1,000,000cr (equivalent to about $13 by the way the cost-per-credit scales). 5,000,000cr is (again, by the way cost-per-credt scales) about $40-worth, but if we suggest some of it will be "free" in the same way it is on those two full game editions you're probably looking at ~$35 for the Power Pack as a whole.
Well, I did spot this in Los Angeles...Guys... what if Sophy 3.0 is the return of B-SPEC BOBthat way we can do the races without having to save and exit after every stint.
It's the thin edge of the wedge, it's only going to get worse if you accept developers withholding core game features (like qualifying in a racing game, something they couldve easily included at launch) from the game that you paid full price for, and then charging you to add it back in.The game is 3 years old mate. PMR's audience is so so so much smaller than GT's, and anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves. The fact that they're releasing all this just days after Project Motor Racing came out (and improving the career mode with more realistic races and qualifying) is surely a strategy to avoid losing players.
They were so comfortable being the only interesting racing game on PS5 that now another game comes out that "promises" a good career mode and they're finally stepping up their game.
This is the good thing about having competition on consoles. Let's hope it has a good price 🤞
Although, as another user mentioned here, if they remove the 5,000,000 price tag and sell it cheaper, all the better. And I hope they add a fourth race in sport mode with practice and qualifying, changing weather, etc. (to take full advantage of the game's potential; one of the most fun races I remember in sport mode was an 18-lap race at Spa with GT3s in variable weather).
I desperately, desperately, desperately hope the right lessons are learned here as you described. I still vividly remember the GT Sport trailers with the “no more collecting cars line… like… that’s not at all what a vast majority of players wanted, but they seemed to find it a valuable marketable aspect. After the begging for additions of engaging single player content we got League, and then somehow 7 launched with a bland career with like 1/3rd the amount of races from Sport, and even less variety, which wasn’t even designed initially to have the League/Campaign. Theres many times I simply do not understand why or how they thought some designs or omissions were what people wanted, and I hope they’ve been able to take the data from 7 and make changes, with how much direct backlash and response they’ve had to it.If this DLC is received well, I hope GT8’s career mode will be just like it but on a larger scale. People have always wanted the classic “GT Mode” back, albeit with much better AI (and more grid starts!)
$20 PP extension.Kaz likes the PP alliteration, it seems.
While I'm pretty sure PD didn't really care about any other racing games (especially that small) and the release window is just a coincidence, this particular DLC does seem to target specifically those GT players who would be interested in something like PMR. That is assuming all those Sophy races are actually difficult. At least what I'm getting right now from the description of this DLC, it's not quite something the millions of casual GT players would enjoy.PMR's audience is so so so much smaller than GT's, and anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves.
People entrenched in the online discourse probably don't see it, because it's a silent majority, but there are likely millions upon millions of GT players who play the game for things you can never get in PMR, or AMS or ACC or any of the other "hardcore" sims.
What track is that?

The red dots irritated me so much that it took me over a minute to find what's in the picture.
