I searched and scrolled up and down this thread and cannot find a simple decent answer to a basic question...
Is there a specific path to start on? Or better yet, which is the better way to start these races?
No.
However you want to.

And that's two questions... not "a basic question."

:)

fortunately you can chose the path you want, people already complain a lot that cars are fixed 😅

That's the beauty of this PP

It's choose your own adventure.
There are a few options and you can start as you wish, where you want, and jump around as your heart desires or where is necessary.

It's the RPG of car racing, it can be as structured or rigorous as you are OCD like myself, or be as random as you couldn't care any less ...

Personally, I have been roaming around here longer than I even played the PP.

I bought the DLC within the first 10 mins it was available, making sure I didn't buy the wrong DLC.
Since then i probably have went on the ship no more than 3 times, without ever raced once, I didn't even click on any of the race.

All I have done so far is identify the 6 leading pathways.
I am still debating myself on how to start based on my OCD.

I am hesitating between starting with the GTi or the Civic pathways first, then work myself around clockwise....
It looks to be the most logical way, PERSONALLY.

I JUST CANNOT WAIT TO ENJOY playing the DLC in VR2.

I can't believe I stull haven't play with the PP since buying it...
I slowly enjoy my things, and take the time to savor each little moment....

Been slowly discovering first the Spec 3 and its new additions, and barely gotten through half of it....

Eventually I will get to the PP at some point, but I am not in a rush at all ... Too many things going on:

Was enjoying the formula 1 race over the weekend.
Just got Astrobot over Thanksgiving Black Friday, still haven't opened it yet
My hardcopy Microsoft MS Flight Sim 2024 on PS5 is coming today
And I need to upgrade bits and pieces on my Driving Sim rigs ...
Barely have time to even enjoy completely GT7 for months

Edit:
Too much excitement, and a myriad of things on my continuously overdue honey do list....

I'm just going straight on the path to get all cars, and then I will finish each branch one at a time.

And I'll do all the races again and again because my goal is to win all races on the 2 chilli level.

I tried two races today from the power pack. Man this dlc is not a joke. Maybe Im getting rusty but I could hardly keep up even on the normal difficulty. I tried civics with 1 pepper and only moved to 8 from 9. Then tsukuba battle on normal and finished exactly where I started in the 2nd place. It was so fun to switch positions back and forth with the leader. They do drive like real humans. I think it will keep me entertained for a long time.

On the other topic. Did anyone notice any improvement on the FFB?

Most (all?) of the pathways start with a three-lap race, which isn't really meaty enough. 5 laps should be the bare minimum, followed by 8, 10, 15-lappers further on.

Variability in difficulty is (as in the main game World Circuit events) massively different race-to-race. Where you choose to start the PP can greatly influence how easy you think it is (going to be). Start with the Tuners and run into FFs at Willow early on, and you'll get a vert different first impression than if you start with the Historics at the bottom (which seem incredibly easy imo).

They need to do something about the AI on out laps getting in the way of us human drivers doing hot Q laps too.

Definitely a worthwhile DLC, will keep me occupied for a few weeks. Already have a few fave races here that I know I'll be coming back to again and again. A few clunkers too of course (retro rally at Louise, take a bow, way, way, way too easy).

Did the race at Tuskuba with Toyota AE86 Levin D-Tuned, loved this car, loved the liveries. But race a bit too easy with this car, only Miyazono was somewhat decent fight but not for long, finished easy 5 second in front while lapping last cars. Number 3 and others were +10s behind Miyazono.

How is the difficulty of the PP races compared to the gt3 races in the base game? That’s the only series I struggle with, only having 1st in 2 races and all the others my position varies from 2nd to 7th to 11th. Usually play on Normal difficulty setting.

I'm slow too. Only three races so far, but I intend to do them all - except the 24-hour races.

Without B-Spec, there's no endurance. I can only have fun racing for, at most, two hours.

I would make an exception for a future Grand Valley 300. :sly:

I was running 58.9's-59.2's and he stayed on my rear whole race until last lap.

I qualified with a 59.2 IIRc and doing 1:00-0:59s I think, race time 12:01.768

+5s gap with Miyazono, 3rd +18s, 4th +23s, 5th +23s, 6th +34s, 7th +46s and so on. Lapped the 3 last cars I think.

Apples and oranges.

Reading through the thread, you'll get a variety of responses from SUPER SUPER easy and no difference, to super difficult and impossible.

I like to compare like things. If you skip the practice and qualifying (through the Fast Forward feature) and start last, it becomes very obvious that the power pack is MUCH more difficult than the base game.

You can of course choose the easiest difficulty, start on pole, and get yourself a win but it's still more of a challenge than the base game. For those that disagree, do as I suggest and start from the back. Good luck ;)

But you cant turn the names off? It is greyed out. Even in the replay you see the names and pictures above the cars. This must be a bug.
No, the names are definitely forced on. Some posts claim that there are emojis. As I mentioned, I turned that off in the main game, and I see no emojis in the DLC.

These endurance races feel so half-baked :boggled: also, why didn't they let people drive their own cars? If I'm stuck driving one car for 24 hours, at least let me choose which one and tune it to my liking...

This is my plan as well. Get the bonus cars and enjoy them for a bit, then finish the PP (maybe!)
That's why I'm taking my time. Bought 20 D-Tuned(the name is funny as if the car is detuned, but it's more like Drift tuned, but it's pretty grippy. Love it!). Have 12 GP-Tuned. I want to buy more, but I need room for KenMeris and 240Zs.
Still building a Mustang AR/Trans-Am grid with 8 currently in the stable.

PD knocked it out the park with these new additions. Love the whole reworked interior of the D-Tuned.

They are way harder. Not impossible but if you struggle at some of the normal races, the PP ones will seem really but really hard at first.

I think D-Tuned might be a reference to Initial D. Or maybe Project D, the racing team from Initial D. That said, the car doesn't resemble any 86 in the show from memory.

Try the pepper 🌶️ race the one at Suzuka took me 8 times to come in first SMH… felt like I was racing in a ManuCup race. I can get off the line decent it’s just they squeeze in tight.. then the chase is on.. caught Miyazona last lap spoon corner. I can see this taking me a long time to try to get two 🌶️ 🌶️ race completed.

It's clear to me that I'm the worst sim racer on this site

I started with the Hondas at Tokyo. I didn't know how to pick a starting branch

2 peppers impossible
1 pepper impossible
0 peppers still VERY hard for me. I think I qualified 8th and finished the race 8th

You are all very impressive for finding the PP to be easy

Just did the first DTM challenge at Sardegna B and yikes, P1 and P2 do not mess around. I was 2 seconds ahead of P4 while P2 and P1 were 20-25 seconds ahead of me and that's with the No-Chili Alfa Romeo 155 Race car.

They were virtually impossible for anyone human to keep up with.

If you skip the practice and qualifying the game only gets easier not harder. Give it everything in practice in qualifying and you'll find the AI adapts and becomes faster with you. No doubt in my mind they can make this AI faster than any human, they just dial it down and add some ruberbanding to keep folks interested. Otherwise we'd get a lot of depressed humans after spending $30.

Plus, those stretchy 14" tyres remind me of the 14"x6.5" SSR meshies I had on 155/45-14 GoodYear F1s on my '83 Corona. The ones in the game are probably 14x8 or 14x9 T37SLV. They really stretch the tyre.

Have you done the licenses? have you gold them yet ?
Have you done the circuit experiences ? Have you gold them yet ?
Have you done some of the missions?
Have you completed most of all the races in the World Circuits? You would serve yourself well to be first in all, if not most of these races.
Have you tried all the OTT and get the lowest time you can and the most reward for yourself?

Kaz and PD have given you so many opportunities to learn and to improve yourself, before getting to the PP.

Although possible, but The PP is not meant to be started by anyone, you are supposed to know how to drive first before getting there.

If you have done everything above, then I don't know whSt else to say....

Good luck.

Edit:
It's all about timing, the right timing....
It is not easy, but Anyone can do it, you just have to apply yourself more diligently, then it really will not seem that hard after all.

Having said that, I haven't even tried it myself.
It could very well be difficult,
And I could very well struggle myself..
We shall see :)

Yes, it’s perhaps one of the most underrated features of this entire update. I’m on an old school DD1, and it was the very first thing I noticed when I took my first laps. I would stop short of calling it ACC or AC good, but I WOULD call GT7’s new FFB implementation, a good poor-man’s version of the aforementioned titles

PD knocked it out the park with these new additions.
Agreed.

For me at least, the PP cars are better than all the Spec III cars. I only like 3 of those anyway, two slow ones, and a van.
