So I went back to Suzuka with my second PSN account, but this time racing with 1 chilli... (I'll do it with two chillies on my third account...)
After 11 laps, I pitted, changed to medium tyres, no fuel... Then on lap 16, I quit the game and turned off the console...

I restarted the console, returned to the game and sure enough, a window popped up with the choice of: start from the beginning or resume the race where you left off...

I continued the race, with brand new tyres and no more petrol...

In fact, it's like a restart in F1 after the safety car...
We start again from the position we were in when the race was interrupted... Too bad for the leader who sees his lead cancelled...

It's true that it's a bit of a cheat because if, after two hours, you've lost a minute on the leader, when the race restarts, you'll find yourself (if you're in eighth place, for example) seven or eight seconds behind... and with new tyres... if we refuelled 3 laps earlier and the leaders have to refuel, we could find ourselves not far from the front...

Well, I'll refuel as they do in 10-lap races in 800 or 900PP... and I'll put my console on pause and that's it...

I gave up, I'll start again from the beginning and hope for less rain...

I drove for an hour to get used to the car in continuous drizzle and the weather didn't look like it was going to change any time soon... does 1 chilli mean rain the whole way? I hope not...😂😂

Very glad to see this - and I see from my own game just now that I can continue the Nurb 24h from where I left off any time, which is a great relief!

I'm only 75 mins in, but with practice and quali, that's already over 2 hours I've spent on it, and so I'm happy that I don't have to start all over again, and/or avoid playing the rest of the game while doing the N24.

edit: ...albeit at the expense of my 90s lead... the race restarted at the start of Lap 10 for me, and I'm not sure if I lost a lap by pausing it just before I ended a lap, as opposed to pausing it after just starting one...

So the things I’ve noticed during my runs at the Enduro 4, the save states are different, Suzuka and Spa saves progress every 3 laps, LeMans every 2 laps and Nurb 24 it saves after every lap IIRC.

How do I know this?

Well…

Let’s just say I’ve had ‘some’ experience in those endurance races. :P

50 wins, 100 Chilli Peppers, 1000 Stars and courtesy of the tip by @Lischynski to cheese the CRB on Endurances, A nice 20,400,000 credits to go home from Le Mans with. :D

I am 4h20m into the N24, and I've now stopped for the third time - which means losing my lead again.

I'm a bit irked, however, that the distance driven is not being captured in GT7 proper - AFAIK, there's no way to pause the Power Pack enduros without quitting the game, which will mean losing about 3500 km progress in the game - I'm assuming it normally counts, but doesn't in this case because you need to quit the game before returning to the GT7 main screen, so the distance covered in any one session of the N24 gets scrubbed...

Otherwise it's pretty good fun, if a bit easy using the Ferrari 296 GT3.

If you let PS5 to go into stand by mode, game should be untouched, and with power up you continues where you stopped.

I'm not 100% sure for that event, but for stand by not quitting game I am.

Yes, it does let you do that, but then the distance travelled in the session is lost as well, so there's seemingly no way to capture any distance in GT7 from the Power Pack enduros except for the miles done in the final session, or by completing the entire race without ever coming back out to the main GT7 screen.

I finished the pack except for the endurance races. I’m kind of surprised a Daytona 24h race didn’t unlock when finishing the American branch. Seems like should be an obvious inclusion. Bathurst would have been a nice addition as well.

Then I'm disappointed, if I knew that, I wouldn't buy DLC.

GT7 already has problems with not counting:

  • hours (time driven) in Online Time Trials
  • mileage driven while in Online Practice sessions

And PD knows that, but don't care...

I wouldn't do that. Even with no issues with the electrical grid, you can also have system updates that will shut the game down (or maybe there is an option to prevent updates ?).

Those enduros should have a proper way to save the race and come back later in exactly the same race state. No "safety car" resets, no bugs with AI pitting every lap for fuel, no weird stuff if you pit too early or too late around the moment you decide to "pause".

Yeh, for what is likely supposed to be a flagship/special event in the game, it's frustratingly poorly executed.

Not being able to suspend the race is pure laziness.

Absolutely... I'm currently finishing Suzuka for the third time and I'm taking a break, as is the PS5...
When I resume after lunch, I'll pick up where I left off with the current mileage...
I'm at about 800 of the 1.000 km of the 175 laps...

When you turn off the PS5, it's true that you only have the mileage for the day...

Well, you have to make a note of it and do the math at the end...😂

Its really hard to win everything with 2 chillis.
I am at 30/46 without endurances.
Way way harder than gold licences or expériences.
For example, Autopolis with the NSX 00', I can do 1'49 reliably but first IA do it in 1.48.5 for example. Its winnable but you can't even make 1 mistake.
Or the race with the Golf 1 GTI, crazy.

Yeah some races are quite hard to win. Others are just way more easy

Regarding the recent discussion about mileage in the Power Pack races and endurance ones in particular, I’ve just done a couple of the beginning races so far (for that JZA80 Supra) so I don’t know but can you use your own garage cars for the endurance races and are the kilometres driven saved and logged on those cars?

No the format for every event is the same, even the endurances give you the three cars to pick from.

Working my way through the PowerPack and struggle with the standing starts. It’s almost like the clutch gets dropped to quick and the engine bogs down.
What has been working for others?

So sit there while lights go out with full throttle, part throttle or give throttle once lights go out?
I throw on TC1 and hammer the throttle before the lights go out. We'll never accelerate off the line as well as the AI does b/c they start on Hot tires and we don't. But TC1 and ready to go helps. You can play around with part or full throttle at the lights out moment. I didn't find that it made a difference for me and by the end of Lap 1 it won't make a lick of difference either way.

My ONLY complaint about the Endurances is that I can't run my own cars. Other than that it's everything I wanted. I just want more of them lol
Absolutely.

Ah…having road car transformed in fake race car has a big issue…they need to go to fuel too often. They should allow to modify the consumption of fuel when we tune road car to race car.

I really like this DLC despite its few flaws.
But having qualifications is a double-edged sword, especially on the Nurburgring + Nordschleife combination. Maybe after finishing a Power Pack race, it would have been nice to let us do it again without having to redo the qualifying rounds and choose our starting position, right?

I would have replayed this race many times if it weren't for having to do two qualifying laps.

I regularly do this combo in custom races, but Sophy 2.1, although cleaner (too clean), doesn't dive bomb and sometimes seems to lose hope when you overtake her.

Whereas with 3.0, I feel like I'm being chased by a T1000 when I'm in first place.
I don't know about you, but the race at Laguna Seca in muscle cars was pretty intense.
I can't remember what kind of car one of the AI drivers had, but it was incredibly powerful.
But that made for a really exciting battle (and the wall for him... it was an accident!).

I hope to soon have a combination of Sophy 2.1 and 3.0 in custom races.
