What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

The live service strategy was former Sony CEO Jim Ryan's idea. It was not successful and is not a priority anymore. It could still be true that Sony and PD would like to turn a successful franchise like Gran Turismo into a subscription model but just wanted to point this out in case it was the reason for the live service suspicions.
Oh I know about that. PD are certainly still pursuing some version of that as is everybody else in the space.

I wonder at what price community response will be negative, 40$+ ?
Anything north of "free".

While I have no issue with it being paid dlc (dependant on the price) I'm not incetivised to buy this DLC. It has come far too late down the line where I've lost engagement with the game, but more specifically I don't know if they'll just leave the gam3 for another year+ and just update with promotional cars or update with cars that add substance. So I'd likely get bored of this dlc very quickly. Maybe the old school F1 car will be fun enough to change my mind though , who knows.

I'd be truly shocked if people willingly pay that much for this DLC, I personally would be fine £15, at £20 I could drag my feet 🐾 and pay for it, anything over that then they may as well just say we're stealth charging you for the previous DLC.

Well the price of 50€ is cool, depending of the content.

If its 50 Events + 5mil Cr. -nah 😑
I have every Car in GT7, many multiple times and still 40mil in cash, beside of having the Race Editor anyway...
If its 50 Events, maybe some new Cars (good point to buy some expensive license, looking at you Lotus 🧐), new Tracks, maybe some new -DLC exclusive tuning Parts or modifications- i'm in for this DLC.

Like if you spent 100€, is it a lot or not, depends if you buy a PS5 or a Pencil... you get my point.

I honestly think the $50 price some of you are floating here is out of the question.

In a way this is a feature update without any content. This has $20 written all over it imo.
It looks like @Akmuq got access to the price through a website modifer of some sort? I asked the person that originally sent it to me how they got it (They found the EMEA euro region pricing) and it looks like there was a secret dev-only query they forgot to disable. I can't seem to replicate it now though, so it seems they were very quick to patch this one out.

Seems Ppl totally ignored this leaked image? You may take a look at the bottom right of the Screenshot tho

Just to clarify, thx @padrome for the OG posting

No one wants to pay money for anything, I get it. Why pay when it "should be" free. Free is always a better option. But, I can't help but remember paying $50 for an NES game back in the late 80s, or $60 for an SNES or N64/PS1 game in the mid 90s. Hell I remember paying $70 for Super Street Fighter II for the SNES because it was sold out everywhere but found a copy at the local Gamestop (I still have that game btw!). Those games, albeit ridiculously fun in their own right, were quite spartan compared to today's offerings by a light-year.

Inflation - at least in the states - has gone up ~250% since 1990. Thus, a $60 game in 1990 should cost $150 today. But, they don't. Still in the $60-70 range.

To me, I don't mind paying a company for goods/services offered. That's how it works. I know it doesn't matter what I say, some will say that paying for content in a game already purchased is ludicrous, but to me I am willing to pay for the work/effort put into this PP update. I've got thousands of hours into GT7, and this update will definitely provide the entertainment that is worth my money to pay for (even though we don't know the price, as I've mentioned before, even if it's $50 it's still worth it to me). I've definitely spent more money on less. We are talking literally pennies/hour of fun.

Anyway this is getting long winded. YMMV

Wasn't it always a thing for PD? They do free updates, but if they do release a paid DLC it would always be not quite on a cheap side?
I feel like I remember it always being a thing since GT5, the price for DLCs was never exactly pleasing for players.
Maybe I'm completely crazy and made it up, but if I do remember correctly then it would be fair to expect it to be pricey, and 50$ seems about right (can be just a placeholder for now though, especially considering it's hidden).

Lewis Hamilton DLC for GTS was $7.99

You aren't alone in this sentiment. For the amount of time I've put into this game and "free content" received, I've gotten my moneys worth 10x.

The 50€ DLC price doesn't track against the full game. The full game is currently at 69.99€, not discounted. Makes no sense for a DLC to be almost the full price of the game.

(especially if the full game goes on sale during the holiday period, making it potentially cheaper than the DLC).

50 dollars/euros/pounds would be quite funny as you can buy the whole game new on disc for less than that.

Majority of season passes/expansion packs are in the 20-30 range, including first party Playstation titles. I'd expect the same here, even with the credits included.

Maybe the choice of cars for the events being so strictly curated could help getting an amazing racing experience like with the very first Sophy races we got back then.

I hope the full rule sets will be active, along with a non-penalty-immune Sophy in case it causes mayhem.

Personally I could do 30 EUR without much whining. I have around 1000+ hours, if I can get harder challenges and even more hours that's fair price I guess. But 40+ EUR? Idk, I might wait for some offers, just enjoy Spec III and grab DLC later on.

While I don't mind paying for things that I deem worth it, I'm surprised games cost $60 in the US in 1990. They usually seem to be slightly cheaper in the US than the UK but that puts them much more expensive than the UK at the same time. I have googled it to check and between $40-$60 is right. I don't think my parents paid more than £20 for one in the UK, PS1 games were around £35 over most of the consoles life, I think they hit £40 right near the end.

$50 for this update, based solely on what we know at the moment, seems like it would be very steep. That's most of the way to a full title. But the facts currently are that we don't know what the cost will be or the in depth details of what the Power Pack will include yet. It's an automatic pass from me though, I don't have a PS5 and don't feel like buying one for a DLC of a game I don't spend much time on would be a worthwhile purchase. I am interested in what the update will be like though.

50 euros for a game within a game (all the new features are only available with the Power Pack) is definitely too much for me.

At most, 25 euros.

Especially considering that we now have to pay for something that was already included at full price in previous titles.

The more comments I read here, the more this DLC looks like a paid version of the missions.

Except there are fewer races than in the missions.

Well, what should they do...end all further devolpment for GT7 because the PS4 can't take any more ?

I am on a PS4 as well, but certain loading processes are already taking to long, not to mention the constant break downs in the photo mode and the fact that Spohy is not compatible für the PS4...

That is not a question of fairness, it is a question of computing power...
No they should not end development nor cripple it, I was mainly referring to my inability to have a ps5 because I am on limited income and cannot afford one at this time. (My post was being selfish, sorry)

Now to ask is there a section in GTPLANET to find a used one for sale?, I sort of trust the gamers here not to screw someone over than going to "marketplace"

I have never bought the credits in the game. But if $40 is the price for $5 million credits in the game, and even if they reduced that to $30 for this DLC, there is still the rest of the DLC included yet. $39-$49 "sounds" about right. But if it is $19.99, that works for me too!
