WHAAAAAAAT?

I cannot (at this time) afford a ps5 (used, refurbished, new) and i will miss out on this.
Damn you PD, Damn you all to hell....

I don't think it's PD, mate. Just the PS4 can't handle Sophy. This isn't the first Sophy related update/upgrade that was PS5 only if I recall.

The PS4 is about to turn 12 years old, and support will be slowing/shutting down in 2026, apparently.

I'm sorry my friend, you'll have to save up.

Im on a limited income... its almost impossible

I’m assuming it’s because the events in this DLC all uses Sophy AI, and the more realistic format won’t work with regular AI because they are too weak, player would easily out-qualify them and always start on pole

Are you not able to do a trade in for even a base PS5?

It’s sad that people will be left out of this DLC, but consider that the PS4 is now a 12 year old console, and that the PS5 is a 5 year old console now

kjb
I understand that. If I didn't have one already it would be difficult to justify getting one due all of my monthly obligations. So I get it hopefully something will open for you get a PS5
Ok just talked to a good friend and he can help me get a ps5 with my limited budget. I will not have to be without....

It looks like @Akmuq got access to the price through a website modifer of some sort? I asked the person that originally sent it to me how they got it (They found the EMEA euro region pricing) and it looks like there was a secret dev-only query they forgot to disable. I can't seem to replicate it now though, so it seems they were very quick to patch this one out.

Surely not. They can't be charging 70% of the game's price for this. Regardless of what the content is, that is an extremely steep price by DLC standards.
I hope that's not the number when the price gets officially revealed...

You know what else this means, eh?

GT8 is coming in 2028 for the 30th anniversary. This Spec 3 + DLC will get people through the next two years.

It's adding quite a bit, and pricing is based on what the market is willing to pay. Should I pay $50 for this, no. Will I? Yes. Hopefully, it's cheaper.

50 euro would be daylight robbery

Some quick Google-fu puts that €50 at around £44-45 Pounds roughly, but factor in things like VAT, I wouldn’t be surprised if £50 is the final number.

I do hope they increase the earnings cap as anyone close to the 100 mil will not get the entire 5 mil bonus when you pay for DLC. Im already bouncing at 98 mil on two accounts and constantly buying cars so I don't lose cr. on race wins and roulette tickets...

This isn't real, that's not how URL parameters work.

It would have to be a ?, not an &, you only use & to separate 2 or more parameters.

Bit of a bummer seeing that it's a PS5-exclusive DLC as a PS4 Pro owner. Although, now would be a great time to trade in if I could find that as an option. Excited about the new off-road body kits, which hopefully brings out an off-road focused suspension?

Well, given that Sophy isn't available on PS4, what is there to offer other than the new cars?

Maybe the new tracks, events and other QoL features along the way. But I'm having doubts about the data logger feature being in the PS4 versions for some reason. And trying out Sophy at an internet cafe once, even with the setup's pedals being broken had me hooked playing single races for first time in a while.

Somehow I don't think this will be priced at $20 if they also give a 5 million credit bonus lol

I hope I'm wrong though, I'm interested in the DLC.

Just go look at the custom race thread. Sophy 2.0 has made me better. I race it with the penalties turned on to keep me honest. I get so much out of the custom races that it justifies the PS5 purchase. I initially thought it was a poor excuse to upgrade, but I was wrong.

Called my shot a couple months after launch. Surprised Sony waited this long to start phasing out the PS4. My other theory that the plan for this game was going to be at least in part, metrics driven, with very long legs, came to fruition as well. At least this means that we’ll get another couple years out of this game before GT8.

My guess is GT8 gets officially announced next year…probably late. 30-36 months from now till release, with it being cross-console compatible, at a minimum. Stoked that PD and Sony are providing me with something worth purchasing beyond the game purchase.

As for the actual DLC and normal update, dynamic weather will be available at all circuits

Edit: we’ll get a meaningful PS5 pro update too, resulting in me buying a PS5 pro in 2 weeks, followed by a PS6 in two years. Well played Sony

Didn't anyone noticed that these are two new cars? The Baja Beetle and 911 Rallye....I wonder what else we can spot

Edit - oops, I see two more.

The green mini is a widebody..it might be a special version from PD. Over on the far right is an AE86 gift car that is a different widebody than we have in the game now.

If true, €50 is catastrophic pricing. I hope this is just a placeholder.

Finally able to hear what the F3500-B sounds like more clearly, from the Power Pack trailer. I'm hoping the same-as-F3500A V12 sound is a placeholder, otherwise that's a letdown for me.

Looking back, I also now realize it used the same V12 sound in the Spec III trailer from a month ago.

The GTPlanet Article
In addition there’s three cars shown with upgrades that aren’t available in the base game: a Volkswagen 1200 and Porsche 911 930 in the hero image, and a Toyota Corolla AE86 sneaked into the progress tree image. It could be that this hints new parts, either in Spec III or the DLC, but it’s curious it’s only these three cars.

An alternative explanation is a range of new pre-tuned versions of factory cars like we saw in Gran Turismo: HD. Oh, that was 19 years ago by the way; feel old yet?

Very disappointing to see a feature like Endurance Racing, which was promised to us 3 years ago, being locked behind a paywall that will likely cost more than $15.

I'm okay with paid DLCs however, we've had nearly 4 years of free content, but the lack of new content aside from 50 motorsport-focused races is a tough sell.
I said the same thing but the shills are slinging poop, oh well I got my platinum for 6 and 7 and will see what the update has to offer in 3 weeks.

Well I guess it’s like getting a new game without losing in game progress, liveries, game credits etc. I’ll pay the $60USD

Eh, I bought a PS4 when it was relatively new, assuming that the next numbered Gran Turismo game would land on it. So that's where I've been playing GT7. I'm not planning to buy a PS5 just to get an expansion pack for that same game.

That's too bad, I would've liked to have more properly-themed racing events instead of the countless Sunday/Clubman/Touring Car variants.
