What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

Apparently GT7 has sold about 14 million copies but judging "active" players is a lot harder. Who knows how many GT7 owners will be buying the Power Pack on Day 1? Even if there are 100,000 players globally who buy it that's $3 million in revenue in a single day which I imagine for a company the size of PD is not a lot. Do we think 1 million GT7 owners around the world will eventually buy this? $30 million in revenue is a lot more substantial.

In today's world, this amount of content is perfectly reasonable for $30, especially considering all the free updates we've had. I was hoping for a different type of content, or type-specific DLCs rather than a broad one like this, but this is pretty satisfying and will get me back into the game especially considering winter has arrived. I haven't been attached to any video games for almost a year now.
With 100 mil copies sold and the game continually being in the top25 or so (sorry don't want to dig for a source now) most played games I would guess that they will sell a lot more than 1 mil dlc copies. I'd guess more like 5. Or maybe 3.3 for 100 mil in revenue.

They will definitely have made forecasts on this based on the commercial viability of dlc for other games. Sony has all the data they need for this.

It seems like Sophy 3.0 had really learnt form the pros!

Here we can see Sophy 3.0 impersonating Coque Lopez at Trial Mountain almost in the same fashion that we saw the real one some years ago (and at the same venue) to infamously grab the title from Inostroza!

Well this is definitely more challenging than the usual races for an average player like me. Did the first 90s Civic race at Tokyo with the middle/1 chilli option. Drove terribly, bounced off every wall. Usually that’s still enough to win. Here I finished 6th. Better start paying attention and do some practice.

Not at all. Like I said, “something like this”. Even with the normal AI, this career structure would have still been better than the menu books.
The normal AI is HORRIBLE. I play it for money/for the completion. I rarely do an event twice. The normal AI is like sticking a fork in my eye.

Yes, it would have been nice to carry over the ST Sport handicap bonus, but even that didn't make me want to play the regular AI. The DLC is actually entertaining.

Okay, Practice and Qualifying at Laguna Seca using the ZL1 is cool. The Challengers are pretty quick, but the ZL1 have the handling. PD had to see how players made fantasy grids. This is what I’ve done with the cars.

Yes, I've noticed that drivers no longer drive the same way as in Sophy 2.1.
Some don't let themselves be pushed around, others move out of the way. It's really cool to see that.

The problem is that you can't enjoy it in custom races...

Yes, you can.
I did this once for a race, some time during the night the router got a new ip address from the ISP and gt7 wouldn't save the progress 🙃

Bro A+ driver here 👋🏾 Sophy is stressing me out a bit… it’s at a point I’m just picking the fastest car.. the blocking I did one race would of been extremely questioned if it was a sport mode race online.😭😭😭

I don't think it's going to sell much at all. You can buy quite a bit of gaming for £25/€30 in the sales. I'm not sure some new races will appeal to anyone other than the absolute hard core Gran Turismo fans.

I've got a solid 500+ hours in the game and even I'm not sold on the DLC. I want to like it but what I'm seeing is okay but nothing truly exciting. I'm thinking it'd be better spent on Flight Simulator 2024.

For those about to pull the trigger on the PP DLC

Learning from those who rushed in with full excitement, slow down and be careful:

I bought it last night half asleep but didn't make the mistake, so I expect others to be as capable...

Just be aware the trap is there and is set, just have to be careful...

I managed 2nd in the next race (still with middle option). No sign of rubber banding, the leader set a few fastest laps and stretched out the lead by a few secs over the race.

Very early but I’m liking this a lot.

No, not contradictory. Setting up a Sophy race in world circuits is challenging, most races are actually really good, and close.

From a small sample of 3 power pack races, I don't really see any difference in difficulty between these and the old event races against AI prior to this update. Aside from now you can just start on pole and pull away from the start rather than chasing the rabbit through all the traffic.
Oh ok, I get it now, I read that wrong. I thought by World Circuits you were referring to the events in it, which use the regular AI. My bad.

So far I did 5 races on the power pack and all have been awesome, I've won 2 out of 5 on the hardest difficulty. I can definitely win all of them but it will take some work, as a solo player I love it. I had a battle in the middle of the pack where a car kept surprising me with overtake move left and right which was awesome. I was a high A player and usually get borderline gold in TT for reference.

I really enjoyed all the races I've done. Track experience in Yas Marina was underwhelming for spec III, I did enjoy the Gilles Villeneuve one tho. And OMG the Ferrari GT3 and the Espace look incredible.

It's really nice to read.

On the other hand, I blew out my ears when I sent you a snowman smiley.

I like how your best finish is shown with the corresponding chili peppers in the event thumbnail - easy to keep track of. It's going to be a struggle, but I'm sure there are many others like me who won't quit until all races have two chili peppers next to the 1st place icon

Finally some fun offline. More if you pick the slowest car from the "3 cars choice".
Some good money to some races, I'm thinking of the Eiger race at the beginning with 100K in 3 laps.

Forgive me if this was discussed earlier, but how do the credit payouts work on these Power Pack races? Is it like the normal World Circuits events where you get credits every time you do them? Or is it more like Mission and License events, where once you win them, you don't get any credits for subsequent attempts?

You get credit each time with +10% for each chilly. You get unique payouts cars and ticket D: (I saw a part one) after some events too, those are one time.

Like the regular events, repeatable. The ones I did so far had pretty low payouts though. Don't know about the later events.

There are also several bigger one-time credit rewards that you unlock after certain races, on top of the repeatable reward.

You can farm for credits. It’s good that you can choose the three cars for how competitive you want the race. Depending on the race, the three choices have strengths and weaknesses.

To answer my own question from earlier

The 500 is basically the Weekly Challenge race replicating the All Japan touring series. A pity it’s only 12 laps, and that I can’t use a F40 or F1 like Sophy can.

Well, hand on heart, I've done about 3 hrs, a couple of the Civic races, each one at each of the three AI levels. Can safely say the PP has already earned the £25 I paid this morning. Great fun, clearly gonna have an awesome time here.

Some early observations:

1) The highest AI level should really have the wall/track limits penalties enabled (maybe damage too) to really turn the screw. So turn them on. And while you're at it, turn the annoying Sara off. Forever.

2) Lots of spaces on that map/diagram and no sign of some of the other great one-make triples we've seen in the Weeklies (eg the Honda F1 we currently have at Watkins and had at Spa, the difficult Supra, GTR, Viper, Radical races etc) Space for a follow up set to fit on the diagram somewhere?

3) It might kill SP in the main game. It might even kill Sports Mode, certainly at lower levels, when people realise they can get competitive races here without all the idiocy.

4) Kaz, make GT8 a bigger, better version of this with 200+ (ideally 500) races and the shambolic first year of GT7 will be forgiven.

5) PMR dev team take note: this is how you do it.
