Stupid question alert!!!

I clicked on the right side box where it says $29.99 USD. Is that for adding 5,000,000 credits? Because when I launch GT7 and try and access the Power Pack it wants to take me to the PS Store and it ask for an additional $29.99 USD.
Man, that sucks. Well, at least you'll have 10mil if you buy the actual Power Pack.

but hey it's OK because "buyer beware" you know. It's not like there was any other option for Sony. That 5M credit mtx had to be there on the GT7 load page there today instead of the Power Pack. It absolutely had to be.
Seriously! They're definitely trying to trick people. D*** move by Sony.

That doesn't tell me anything because I have no qualifying to compare it to lol
But still, we’ve raced in some GT Sport races way back. The intensity is there with 3.0(I’m nearly thinking 3PO ). As Jordan mentioned in the article about traffic being a factor. Yep, Igor Fraga owes me one Dagnabbit!

Got the Mustang. No raised yellow Dunlop lettering. :indiff:

For anyone wondering about the price, there is a lot of content here, hours of racing to be had. There's a lot they can improve about the overall experience, but the foundation is good.

I've only done a couple of races and in the easiest car each time, so I don't have a strong opinion on Sophy yet.

I'm going to guess 4 endurance races, probably 24h.

Green is a 24h at Spa (maybe Gr.1 90s LM cars)
Blue will be a Daytona 24h
Pink will be a Nürburgring 24h
Yellow will be a Le Mans 24h (but probably a Group C one so as too keep LMU happy)

Has anyone made it to a 24hr race? If so, how does it work? Is there b-spec? And is it in any way better than a 24hr custom race?

A friend of mine unlocked one of these
He says there seems to be no in-game system in place to save progress mid-24h races....

Huge letdown if true
Unless he's missing something, it's basically a 24:00:00 regular race, no way to save progress, no b-spec either

As I mentioned earlier, if it weren't for all the free stuff they've given away in GT7 I might have been a little more upset. So yeah it cost me an extra $60 USD. But year putting a click box on the front page of GT7 saying Add-On Pack was a trick move because that could be easily interpreted as Power Pack Add-On.

I only scratched the surface of the Power Pack but so far all the events are pretty enjoyable and really tense since you can't retry the races.

The difficulty was higher than I anticipated for the early events but the challenge is certainly welcome, i now wonder how fast Sophy can be on the later events.

Sophy 2.0 was challenging already but it was noticeably rubber banded on corner exits which is why they divebomb so much

There are far worse clickbait content creators than Kireth. He's one of the few content creators who actually isn't afraid to criticise things if they aren't up to par. I admit, in his early days he would post clickbait but that ship has sailed long ago. I consider his content fairly good journalism, and not afraid to ask hard questions when required. That's just my personal opinion.
Haha yeah to be fair I like him and watch a lot of his videos but he can be pretty clickbaity sometimes and a little “I’m the only truth teller on YouTube”.

But I enjoy his stuff by and large.

Well this is definitely more challenging than the usual races for an average player like me. Did the first 90s Civic race at Tokyo with the middle/1 chilli option. Drove terribly, bounced off every wall. Usually that’s still enough to win. Here I finished 6th. Better start paying attention and do some practice.

I managed 2nd in the next race (still with middle option). No sign of rubber banding, the leader set a few fastest laps and stretched out the lead by a few secs over the race.

Very early but I’m liking this a lot.
I agree, definitely more challenging. I ran the easiest mode. I ran the first two Civic races, qualified 5th in the first, 4th in the second. I wound up finishing 5th in both races. I was trying to get the CRB,( if there is one).

I’m liking it.

Does the Supra being labeled "GT Road Car" imply the potential of a "GT Race Car?" :sly: it's not using the "tuned" suffix like the Skyline or Levin (even if their "tuned" monikers feel more like references).

So any actual word oN how the 24hr events function? Surely you dont need to keep your PS5 running for days as you try to complete it?

I think I did see that Sophy 3.0 does run in the rain
It does. I've not made it far in the P.P. but the EMEA DTM race around Nurb GP potentially has rain (says 80%). I did it twice and it rained both times: first time was within the IM zone but the slicks were fine; second time it got half way up the IM zone and was quite sketchy on slicks. Some of the AI pit for IMs and some didn't.

THat's all I've experienced so far but it's promising.

I don't think it's going to sell much at all. You can buy quite a bit of gaming for £25/€30 in the sales. I'm not sure some new races will appeal to anyone other than the absolute hard core Gran Turismo fans.

I've got a solid 500+ hours in the game and even I'm not sold on the DLC. I want to like it but what I'm seeing is okay but nothing truly exciting. I'm thinking it'd be better spent on Flight Simulator 2024.

As an "absolute hard core GT fan" myself, being forced to use preselected cars si quite the opposite of what I expect from Gran Turismo. A game that freely let me buy, upgrade, tune and love my cars, then let me make my journey throught an extended career mode.

Thought I had the inside line, but Sophy said, "Hold my beer".

Pass in the grass, at full blast.

This was the first race I tried. Grabbed the 2 chili car, for the heck of it, and finished 5th. The pic above is from the second race, with the no chili car. First two laps were a battle, but the other 3 were uneventful.

For those about to pull the trigger on the PP DLC

Learning from those who rushed in with full excitement, slow down and be careful:

I bought it last night half asleep but didn't make the mistake, so I expect others to be as capable...

Just be aware the trap is there and is set, just have to be careful...
I noticed that as well. Whoever is in charge of organizing the Store layout did that on purpose just to be a dick. I also saw the price and credits but couldn't figure out where the description was, so I opened the game and bought it through there instead and it linked to the correct Power Pack.

Haha, yeah I just checked my receipt and it says currency. Thanks m8

Well with 500 hours in nearly 4 years, you are clearly not a hardcore GT fan 😅 a fan probably but not hardcore (and with 3x your playtime I consider myself as a very casual GT player, and I thoroughly enjoy the DLC which will give me at least 150h of gameplay)
Another one bytes the dust... Well done Sony, very clever trick.

I did the same 🤦‍♂️.
This isn't a "clever trick" by Sony, I think it's something they could actually get in trouble for once people realize what's going on. Judging by how many people in this thread alone either have or almost (myself) bought the wrong thing, that's an extra $30 times however many tens of thousands of people click the wrong button because the two out of three facts of the item were the same. I think it was pretty obviously done on purpose just to screw people, especially younger players who would be less cautious.

Different folks different strokes. I like the difficulty that comes with BOP style racing. I've only done 2 races so far, and it was pretty enjoyable. Also, for once they actually provide cars that are nicely tuned (a bit down on power compare to some AI cars, pretty much a sitting duck if it is grid start). Yes...I know I can detune cars to a certain PP and stuff but it never really works in the game....plus I'm too lazy to fiddle with the settings :D
