What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

As a VR player it’s kinda helpful to know what’s going on around you. Especially in qualifying given how limited the VR hud is.
I could do without, plus you see your spot on the grid on top left, as long as I am 1/16 I'm fine 😁

For those still needing invites, I was immediately upgrade to lv70 after installing Spec 3, and all invites are available in the dealerships. Thank god this madness was fixed, finally.
Power pack is also good but definitely overpriced. i got it anyhow to support the franchise and say thanks for free updates

oh yeah forgot about that one ! but it is still 100 times less chatter than on the first event you do.

not sure there behind the scene loading of anything, I think they just wanted to showcase the nice liveries they crafted for those events
Fair enough, they are pretty good and all, but having it be skippable if desired would have been a nice touch!

Like I said, it's a minor thing and I can't wait to get stuck into the racing over the weekend (when I get the chance!)

I honestly didn't expect the Power Pack to come with this gem of a car. Easily my favorite part of the Power Pack so far was the satisfaction of earning this GT500 Toyota Supra Road Car. It reminds me of the NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car from GT4 or the Gr.3/Gr.B road cars featured in this game and in GTSport.

Though I don't have a final opinion on the pack overall yet, I want more time spent racing against the sophy 3.0 AI and completing more races. I will say that I am having fun with the racing and not caring that I can't win. This is the kind of challenge I've been wanting more of in a GT mode though. If this is a baseline for GT8's career mode, then that might turn out to be the most impressive entry in the series.

I am having problems coming in 1st 2nd or 3rd, how do I get the supra prize car?

Apart from the six exclusive cars do you win cars for winning or completing race series?
Can the new cars be used in the regular game itself? Maybe a daft question but I had to ask anyway.

There’s definitely some rubberbanding going on…
Yep they're getting some major speed boosts at times unfortunately. I've only done 3 races but some blatant examples I have are the GTI race at Alsace where the 500, the slowest car of the pack, comes launching past everyone after the first corner or the European Oldtimers where the Alfas rocket off the line way faster than they should even if they're 4WD. The races are still pretty fun but I don't know what it is about PD not letting their AI race without all of this scripting. It always taints the experience for me.

I bought it but man... It's way too overpriced and needs some QOL updates. Like others mentioned, let me pick a car color at least if there's nothing else to choose. Or why can't I skip the Qualifying if I don't need it, like the Training session? Speeding up time is possible but it takes a couple minutes for each race. Why can't I skip the grid animation? It's not very appealing. I read they wanted to go for that "real race weekend feeling" but it only feels like some effortless shallow presentation that's fresh for the first two races and hella boring afterwards.

The core of this pack, racing against Sophy, is alright though and I want to beat it. It just feels like a huge waste of potential overall. It isn't even tied to the base game statistics/dashboard. Even music rallye is... Conclusion: Wouldn't buy again at that price.

You need to win races to win prize cars. Power pack is all about driving, no tuning allowed. I really love that aspect, helps me focus on improving my inconsistent driving

So, is it worth buying or not?
Depends on how fast you are. I am D grade. In GT5P I was division 5 gold which is a polite way of saying I'm slow. I've spent 14 hours on the first day doing 14 races (with two food breaks) and won 7 of the races. It should have been 8 but I cocked up. I'm having the best time in GT7 since they first added Sophy to create race mode and I did an epic 9 hour race decided on the last lap. This DLC turns GT7 into the best GT game ever.

It could simply be tuned differently. It's very fast in the straights, but slow in the corners.

Ive gone on and bought it just now.It ended up costing me £11.00 as i had some money in my ps wallet, left over from a gift voucher.Bargain.

This isn't a "clever trick" by Sony, I think it's something they could actually get in trouble for once people realize what's going on. Judging by how many people in this thread alone either have or almost (myself) bought the wrong thing, that's an extra $30 times however many tens of thousands of people click the wrong button because the two out of three facts of the item were the same. I think it was pretty obviously done on purpose just to screw people, especially younger players who would be less cautious.
I was thinking the same but i'm letting it go because PD and Sony have given away so much free stuff for GT7. Maybe that was their way of saying, "remember all that free stuff you got from us? Here click on this....gotcha" 🥳

i am A grade and i still having A LOT of fun: to avoid winning too easily i'm using interior camera and no abs (on cars that do not have it, like the Mini in GTI or GT500 cars), these things make me slower, but they bring driving and immersion to another level, being slower also means that racing is way closer, which means i do not have to choose the slowest car (which is annoying to me) to have some engagement, and, in fact, i found out that winning a race with these settings is actually pretty hard, honestly gt7 never felt so enjoyable to me.

Nah, sadly it's not.

They'll just find an extra 500hp on a particular straight then you'll catch them on the next one.
Absolutely not my experience. That 500 can pass you on the straight after turn 1 if you qualified poorly, but after the next section you never see it, because it can't take turns fast. I drove that race like 5 times, because I couldn't beat the Golf, it was my experience every time.

I finished the Japanese section of Power Tour (except the Endurance that suddenly pops up at the end). The experience is very confusing.

The Civics at the beginning are the hardest of Japanese disciplines while the GT500s are the easiest, especially the race at Fuji, GT Sophy pace at Fuji is just awful the AE86 race was also a joke.

I feel the rubberbanding heavily in Qualifying. No matter how fast I am, GT Sophy will pull a sudden incredible pace to get close to me and that pace is nowhere to be seen at races except Tsukuba but granted I suck at Tsukuba so I'm willing to see that being a bias experiences due to my skill issue there

Which makes sense.. you don't want to alienate people who are not buying the DLC...
Some trophies are already requiring a PS+ subscription. So one more, one less, IDK...

The endurance races needs some save point in the pits or something. They already did it in GT5.
This is where the mandatory online creates issues. If you save your race and restart after an update that modifies Sophy, or the race parameters, or the general physics / that of certain cars, what happens ? IMO, chaos.

That's fair. The historic event at Suzuka had identical cars to yours romping away on the straights (although I'm assuming they've running equal performance figures to your car)

My experience is with the Group C event at Spa. Unreal rubber banding for cars to catch up to you. Its got me driving defensively, causing them to make mistakes, but then they'll use their enormous extra speed to make up seconds of deficit, and then race your closely again.

I just find it disappointing

Unfortunately, I don't have much feedback to offer. I only had time to mess with two Power Pack races before I had to stop to make dinner and then it's pretty much bed time. In my very limited experience so far:
  • I think the lack of a Retry is kinda disappointing. I wish they'd lean on the side of "fun" here. My example as to why is that I did some practice and then Quali (2nd) for the AE86 Tsukuba Race, and then when the race starts, for some reason my car didn't go. I'm using a wheel setup so I think that had something to do with it. It was in 1st gear, I hit the gas, and it just sat there. Shifted to 2nd, then it moved. If something like this (or some other random distraction or weird crash) had happened on a longer or more serious race or whatever, I'd be pretty pissed. Eh. I've also had a weird issue/bug now: Two or three times my game has crashed/closed because it says there was a disc read error. I originally had the game on disc, then bought digital, and never had this problem before. I stuck a disc for a different game in and it hasn't done it again yet.
  • I like the pre-race grid crawl from Sport mode, except I also don't because it just reminds me and annoys me that I can't use my own liveries (for myself or the AI) or car for the races.
  • Definitely feels like there is some amount of challenge here. First race I tried was the Civic one; immediately annoyed with the two chili EF Civic because it kinda handles poorly, meanwhile I have my own race replica EF Civic that I really like driving but I can't use it here.. I did some Practice/Quali and ended up around 9th. I don't really ever race the Expressway track so I'm not very comfortable on it. Plus the car was pissing me off. Did the race but came in 9th or something maybe. Second race with the AE86 Tsukuba, qualified barely off pole and it was kinda fun. Wish I could use the N2 car I built forever ago, setup myself, and raced with my friend.
  • The sphere grid UI is kinda plain/ugly to me for a GT game.
  • Some of the cars you can "unlock" are cool.
  • The force feedback is definitely a bit different. Fanatec GTDD. Whatever they did. I bumped my Max Torque up from 7 to 8 cause the wheel felt much lighter. I'm happy my gamble paid off and that FullForce support was added cause I ordered a Clubsport DD+ on black friday thinking they might add it here. Seems a bit gimmicky but we'll see.
Rest of the time I spent looking at some of the other stuff outside of the Power Pack. Overall, it felt like a bit of a bummer, but I want to half chalk that up to I came home from work, tired and frustrated that I didn't have any real time to enjoy the game. Even when the weekend hits, I have to take my limited time and spread it between chores and possibly going out for a drive or with friends etc. Adulting sucks. Not having a job was awesome. I could sit and play it all day for days 😭

K no more time to type, need to leave for work.

I did make 3 races in Power Pack and I wonder… are all of them don’t have pit stops during race? Or does the longer one have?

None of the main Japan ones do.

Unless the GT ONE or Group Cs have them then it maybe limited to the Endurances

Anything in the update or power pack to add to the "Custom Races" experience ?
You can turn slipstream off now like you can in online lobbies with Spec 3, but beyond that it seems the same. Tyre bug is still there, AI throttle is still at 97% for regular AI.

I didn't go through all the custom race options but at a glance nothing seemed different.
