What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

So far these new Power Pack events are wildly unbalanced in my opinion. Some are almost too easy that I choose the more-difficult car just to make it more entertaining, while some are races which turn into battles where I'm fighting tooth-and-nail with 2nd. Inostroza's Challenger is an absolute menace, almost like a perfect-play AI that feels unfair with a car that's very wheelspin-happy.

Speaking of menace, I would have thought that this Power Pack would do away with the whole "Chase the Rabbit" situation that plagued this franchise for a while now. Some of the races have one AI driver who blows the rest of the competition away and is the ONLY one who's competitive with the player. I don't know if this was done intentionally or what, particularly for the early events.

Why polyphony, why are you locking the PS4 player's out of the the power pack ? It's not a good idea to do that, and have it in the PS4 version of the game ? As it was never mentioned anywhere in the trailer, that the power pack was a PS5 exclusive, can you please make it available to PS4 players please, or remove it from the PS4 version of the game please.

You can turn slipstream off now like you can in online lobbies with Spec 3, but beyond that it seems the same. Tyre bug is still there, AI throttle is still at 97% for regular AI.

I didn't go through all the custom race options but at a glance nothing seemed different.
the enforced pitstops would have been nice to put a new twist on things

Literally says at the bottom of the trailer footage it’s for PS5 only.

It was mentioned multiple times, and the news post in GT's website and in-game about the DLC specifically noted it was PS5 only.

Did the qualifying of the GT500 round at Autopolis this morning with a couple of laps run in the race. I chose the NSX as I wanted higher difficulty, put it on the front row, and was P10 by the first corner. Even the other NSXs jump me on the start. I hope that they can lean away from slower cars for the player to increase difficulty because it takes away from the realism.

That actually brings me to my problem with the rental system that the GT500 races expose. It isnt evaluating the 3 possible options of how well they perform but intentionally buff or sabotage them for the difficulty.

I wanted to use the NSX but saw its Bhp got neutured with no way to play it stock like the GT-R while the Toyota Supra just gets insanely buff rivalling higher end Gr.3 cars. (I wonder how much that appeased Toyota with their partnership)

That's fair. The historic event at Suzuka had identical cars to yours romping away on the straights (although I'm assuming they've running equal performance figures to your car)

My experience is with the Group C event at Spa. Unreal rubber banding for cars to catch up to you. Its got me driving defensively, causing them to make mistakes, but then they'll use their enormous extra speed to make up seconds of deficit, and then race your closely again.

I just find it disappointing
I don't think it's rubberbanding though, just poor balancing at times. I just did the first Porsche race at the Nurburgring and my car was much faster on the straights than my opponents'.

Is Sophy better or is it just without emojis?
Race the first FF race and you'll see. 1 pepper or 2 if you like. It guards it's position and protects the line making the passes more difficult. It will sometimes run you wide if you take the outside.

I spent almost an hour trying to the beat the first FF race on 2 pepper until I decided to slice across the nose of the other Hyundai at the start.

Actually, the starts are my biggest beef with Sophy 3.0. They get an unreal boost from a standing start and it somewhat ruins the experience. If it simply ran a faster pace, the standing start boost would be unnecessary.

Yeah the starts are my main quibble. There's almost no point starting on the front row in one of the chili cars as you'll just get passed by about half a dozen opponents anyway.

Everyone's speculating about PP and spec III being reception tests for GT8, but my shot here is that PD will keep releasing half baked content like these just as any other live service game (as GT7 also is) until the active player count is not enough to sell more attempted game fixes content.

I bet GT8 will come around mid PS6 cycle.
I don't understand how people keep looking past the 30th anniversary.

December 23 2027

"Mid cycle PS6" will be...when? ten years from now? Because we are mid cycle PS5 now. So, your estimate is December 2035?

This expansion or PMR?

i was planning to get PMR in a couple of weeks, but i might get this and wait for PMR in a sale next year hehe. At least i know everything in GT7 'works' and this might the last 'sendoff' for the game.

FYI - new credit cap seems to be 105 million.
As others above have noted, this is not the case.

GT7 still has a maximum "Free" credit cap of 100,000,000. This refers to credits you earn from doing things in the game.

There is no limit* to "Paid" credits. This refers to credits you buy or which are awarded as part of various add-ons/bonuses - like the 25th Anniversary edition or the Power Pack.

This information is also displayed on your in-game wallet.

"Free" credits are spent first. When you run out of "Free" credits to spend, the game dips into your "Paid" credits.

*I'd assume that there is, and it would be an irrelevant 2,147,483,647cr

I've asked before but this thread is just so busy, so I try again:

Can anyone please tell me if the "Nordschleife Tourist" event is indeed a tourist lap (so no race) and if it can be done with your garage cars?

From all I've seen and read about the DLC so far this is pretty much the only thing that could make me buy it.

It's just a one lap race around the track using tuned road cars. Same as the rest of the DLC, you pick from 3.
It's probably one of the most unbalanced events too.

No. All the races have pre-supplied cars. The Nordschleife Tourist one-lapper provides a Porsche 911 GT3 RS '22 at 647PP (no chilli), a Mercedes-AMG GT R '17 at 619PP (one chili), or a BMW M4 '14 at 618PP (two chillis).

Exactly. Before this update, my credit cap was 101.2M due to the GT7 version I bought originally.

Only played a couple of the races of the power pack so far, do you have to click through that opening conversation with "Sarah" and sit through an unskippable place crawl before the actual race every time?

Loving the racing so far, seems a lot better than the usual game standards - but sitting through that every time could get old really quick. Please tell me I'm missing something!

Only had the chance to sit down with it for about 30 mins so far. :-/
I just press circle and skip whatever she has to say.

I've never seen it prior to this morning. I don't think a 5M credit pack was even available for sale prior to this morning -- the exact morning that a pre-announced "big event" dlc selling for exactly the same price and including by chance 5M credits was released for sale.
Agreed, the timing could have been better or just calling it 5 million credits without the misleading Add-On Pack while the real Power Pack DLC with the 5 million credits is inside the game on the boat and I had no idea about the boat until I clicked on it so I could start. That's when it requested another $30 USD. Just a bad look and a trick play by whoever decided this was a good idea.

Just waiting for someone in California who has nothing better to do than have an attorney on speed dial for a class action lawsuit. Sony just seems to get embroiled in these types of things. Another example are credit cards. Years ago they were data hacked and paid a fine. So still to this day if you use a credit card in the US, it automatically saves it. You can't do a one time use, unlike Nintendo and Steam. That requires me to delete the card on my PlayStation after each use.

I haven't had time to play the updates much, but when I saw the new PP progression tree for the first time and how you had to use the game's cars instead of yours, my immediate thought was 'the original GT's Arcade Mode, just turned up to 11'.

I did two Civic races. Struggled with the first one (in the slowest car) and need to try it again. Won the second on the first try. Maybe I'll get some more time to play this weekend.

I did not fall victim to the poorly placed 5m credit buy button, at least

Short answer: the PS4 cannot run the Sophy AI.

As it was never mentioned anywhere in the trailer
The December 2nd trailer is called "Gran Turismo 7 - Power Pack Trailer | PS5 & PS VR2 Games"

Three seconds in, the caption says:

It's said out loud (and captioned) at 1:14:

what ?? at the moment I only got 16 (but I only did the 3 Civic races)
I've seen up to 20 in some races. Not sure what the cap is.

We're level 3 daily tickets not only for people under level 50 btw? I'm level 70 and just got a 3 star. Or was that 1 and 2 stars?
