Just did another stop and resume and it works as it did before.. You can play other modes also before going back to the race. You loose a lap also and be careful when you restart the fuel gets represented the lap prior.. I Pitted lap 38 with full fuel, and know I’m screwed because I need to stop for fuel but the saftey car has us bunch’s up so I will loose position.

I don’t mind that. If we had to pit to save, might lose more time in the pits.

Played a bit more of the Power Pack last night, though I'm still in the earlier stages of the pack.

Surprisingly, I have been able to win a couple of races. I didn't expect that with my skill level, but I'm not complaining when it happens. I have won some prizes including the Skyline KPGC10 Race Car and of course the Supra GT500 Road Car I've shown earlier. I love that the prize cars become buyable again after winning them once. It's good for me as I like to typically keep one car stock and modify a 2nd car. Due to me not being a top tier driver and not being active enough with GT7, I can't say how much of an improvement Sophy 3.0 is over 2.0. But I can say that I enjoyed racing against them in a focused career mode setting instead of just a sandbox. I like a lot of the themes being used for these races too and I look forward to seeing the rest of the events as I progress.

Still bummed that I can't select my own cars though, but I guess that would've clashed with the vibe of having factory provided cars that they're doing here. Of course they could've fixed that problem by making so you can re-enter events with your garage cars, but they didn't seem to want to do that. Honestly for content related to single-player, this is some of the best to be added to GT7 so far. If it's intended to be a test bed for GT8's career, I'm a bit excited for GT8 now even though we won't see a trailer for a while.

With that said, there are some other issues I have outside of not being able to use my garage cars. For one, I find it annoying that there's the same text boxes that come up each time I enter an event talking about how practice mode and qualify work. I read it the first time, I don't need to see that again. Another thing that's annoying is having the grid being showcased in every race start without providing a skip option. These things add additional tedium that didn't need to be there in my opinion.

B-Spec was never mentioned officially, SuperGT posted a screen grab that had shown a button labeled such and posted a whole lot of OPINION about it and a lot of us were inhaling a lot of hopium about it...
Oh absolutely, I'm just saying that the Super GT vid gave hope.

IMHO, it would have to be an entirely new DLC, because in it's previous iterations it was a game unto itself.

Is there a way to get rid of the floating heads over the opponent cars? Very annoying feature.
Last time I checked the options that one was greyed out.. If I remember correctly.
Yes, it's in the display settings. I turned it off in the main game and it remains off in the DLC.

Hi,

I have a question.
In the second photo, you already have a 36-lap lead in lap 37?
How is that possible?

The Information takes a second to load up correctly I took that during the rolling start.. I am pretty fast around Suzuka and using the best car.. I’m saving fuel and using hard tires… I wouldn’t go by my pace in this race I just wanted to see if the saved function work and finish this 6 hour race asap lol.

The interval display is quite broken, that's how 😅
I've crashed a couple of times on Circuit de Gilles-Villeneuve and I confirm, it can be buggy. I was 5 seconds ahead of the other driver in a 2-car race I've had the gap timer showing me 45 seconds ahead when a second or two later it returned to reality and showed the other car being 2 seconds behind.

I know there’s not a whole lot of us H-pattern clutch guys, but I can confirm that there are standard transmission cars in the power pack. Did the civic race at Tokyo, and all 3 cars utilized the clutch
Yup I used my clutch.

I think 3.0 is wayyyyyyy too dive bomb-y.
Keeps crashing into me.
It also still relies on rubberbanding too much.
Sophy 2.1 also dive bombs a lot. You need to defend even if they're more than a car length behind and you need to brake very late.

In custom races there are ways to circumvent, or at least minimise, the rubber banding. I find that my pace is just slightly better than Sophy 2.1, so I can see how some of you A and A+ drivers may be too fast for it.

The clutch+H-shifter makes it so fun on high rev car like the civic.
Need to practice my launch, I find it difficult to do smooth acceleration on standing start.

On the 2 peppers races, I manage Q3/Q4 , P4-P6. This thing is quite challenging for me, but fun.

Online races still has an edge for the unpredictability and tension but PowerPack will definitely help me to improve my skills.

So it's kinda confirmed by now that it just puts you down 1 full lap in respect to the last one you finished (which is how Red Flags work IRL in alot of racing series) but other than that it savestates whenever you decide to quit
Man this is awesome, you can even kinda do it on purpose to spice up the race whenever you want by simulating a Safety Car period. And on top of that when you decide to suspend an Endurance you can play the rest of the game too.
An absolute win in my books

Might have to plug mine back in. Took it off my rig when I went full Sport mode. Doing heal/toe downshifts is so fun in the game.

You'd normally just combine it with your regular stop, wouldn't you? So you wouldn't actually lose any time
I’m saying if you’re not at the end of a stint. You could be in the middle of a stint or just starting and need to jump out the game.

So,who else is thinking of staying awake for 24 hours and doing a full race at Lemans? ...based on the 5 lapper i just did there in the PP...i won by 30 seconds,so every 10 laps you gain a minute(based on 4 minute laps),every 40 laps, you would lap the field, you do 15 laps an hour,so,roughly every 2 hours and 40-45 minutes to lap the field.....23 hours of driving is 345 laps...1 hour pit time....but after 345 laps you would have aleast an 8 lap lead,so maybe one can stop 30 minutes before the end...maybe you can get away with 330-335 laps.....might try it on New years eve day at 6am'ish, i want to see if i can sync up with the game itself(like what time do they start in game?)...ring in the new year at LeMans....make sure i have plenty of liquids at my disposal(water,cola,starbucks,beer?)...maybe make a half dozen tuna sandwiches for munchies....lol...almost sounds like a plan ....would rather do Daytona but doesn't look that's possible....probably do Nurburgring as well, thinking it would be a little tougher than LeMans....yup,i'm gonna get my moneys worth for this PP

Finished the European Section (minus the Endurance). Only have Historic and Nurburgring to go.

European isnt as hard as American, Japan or Tuning on average. GTI at Alsace is definitely the hardest (again the early discipline is the hardest one ) but this was definitely the most annoying and cemented my displeasure for the GT Sophy A.I. It divebombs like crazy and tries pushing me out of the track constantly(once even to the point the game forced me to reset) Europe exposes this more than the others cause Monza and Red Bull Rings heavy breaking zones.

I got so fed up with the A.I that at Monza with the Porsches, I punted everyone in front of me off the track at the chicanes.

Not sure if it's just Power Pack exclusive but the AI is ridiculously easy to spin out, like comically easy; but the downside is that it seems easier for the player to spin out aswell hence why my car has/had front end damage.

This is actually a Sophy thing. Sophy uses full players physics while regular ai is somewhat „magnetically” conected to their path. This is why collisions with Sophy feel real and with regular ai fake.

I wouldn't say real, they are way too cumblesome. They push me harder on their infinite divebomb attempts than they do me and only spun out once because of where they hit me.

Did you beat it with the Abarth? I couldn't bother with such slower car compared to Hizal's golf. Tried a few times but only managed to win with the Mini.

I'm only using the non Chilli vehicles unless I expect the Chilli vehicles are actually better (like 1000 Horsepower and Bumbdrafting races)

The beta version of sophy was the best. It seems it is getting worse and not better
I did like 2.0 for 24 hours at Le Mans, Daytona, and Nurbs. They worked well there. But this version of Sophy is hot garbage. Either insanely cheating fast or slow as molasses, dive bombs to pass 100% of the time, swerves all over the road to block (I know they're not really blocking they just suck at driving)

ETA: Sorry for double post:
There's zero reason for these races not to be in the game unless the reason is PD no longer has the license for the track:

GT5 is STILL better than GT7 when it comes to actual endurance racing. That's kinda insane.
When GT5 was the newly released game I spent all my time when not racing reading the threads/race reports here:

Why can't this have been in the power pack? why is the pack 100% choice free? if you ask me it's PD admitting they have no idea how to make a good racing AI unless they can guarantee your car isn't as good as the field is.

I don't have this expansion (PS4 player), but I'm interested in how everyone is saying that Sophy accelerates faster than they do.

When AI is being trained to play a game, it will often find unexpected/unintended ways to abuse game mechanics. If Sophy's accelerating inhumanly fast, it may have trained itself to, say, apply and let off the accelerator using some lightning-quick inputs that perfectly optimize the grip in a way that a human just can't do. Tool-assisted speedrun type stuff. Just a thought.

Just beat the Historic Section. Minus endurance.

It's by far the easiest section. Even the first discipline, which has consistently been the hardest in every discipline so far, is really easy here.

The only thing that might be hard for some is the rally if you either don't know the rally controls or don't like it. If you have some understanding of how it works, its just as much a pushover as the other Historic races.

Only have Nurburging to go, granted given I only need 60 of the 80 Stars to reach 900. Im just gonna play wanting it to be over and skip the qualifying of both Nordschleife races.
